What is this round two you speak of?  ;D ;D
 4.
what's gas been running?
Diesel has been conistently around $3.85 gallon.  +/- 10 cents.  We try to keep the standard trip between $150-$200 per person.  That's the non-charter prices for friends and friends of friends.  Next year I will mix in charter trips as well and those will be substatially more.  Expenses for a standard trip runs between $900 and $1200 per tip.  Overnight trips for swordfish and tuna are always mixed in with bottom fishing too and those are about $300 or $350 per person.  Overnight trips are hard core, so not for everyone.  The fishing can be a lifetime experience, but it's very little sleep and almost non-stop fishing for about 24 hours.        I get asked often whats the difference between what I do and what one of the party boats do.  There really is no good comparison.  I run a trip just likea charter boat would, except we leave and come back when the group wants too and I provide lunch and drinks.  We also target whatever fish we can locate, not just grab a couple snapper or worry about how much fuel we are burning.  I normally don't even slow the boat down to fish until we are at least 55 nat miles offshore and usually fish all the way out tot he edge of the continental shelf.  We typically have lines in the water no later than 9:30ish and fish hard till about 3:00 PM.  Most charter boats are back at the dock by 3:00 or 3:30.  My goal on each trip is to catch as many different legal species as we can an I always try to find at least one big grouper.  All my rod and reels are high quality.  Most are Avets, Accurates, Penn International, or Shimanno.  I use 65lb to 130 lb braid on almost everything so we can drop in deeper water and it makes the bite easier to feel.  All my leaders are at least 250-300# with quality circle hooks and high quality swivels.  You ware not in any way going t brak one of my leaders, regardless of what bites.  Every now and again a shark may cut one, but most often they do not.  As an example, every leader I put down cost a minimum of about $6 to $20 per leader.  I don't cut corners on tackle because if we get a big fish on I don't want someone to loose a fish of a lifetime because I saved a couple bucks.  I over-rig everything!
 5.
We are 67 days away from the start of the Texas High School Football Season and today is....     International Fairy Day It’s International Fairy Day! Today is a day for fairy believers young and old to celebrate the stories, magic, and history of the Fair Folk. For centuries, fairies have been an important part of Celtic culture. In all of the ancient legends, these mythological creatures are described as intelligent, mischievous, and magical. They have the ability to fly and cast spells, and they live in “Tír na nÓg,” the land of eternal youth. Mortals don’t often see fairies because of the division between the two worlds, but sightings can occur at twilight or during Beltane, Mid-Summer’s Eve, or All Hallow’s Eve. In his 1904 play Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie wrote that when the first baby laughed, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and that was the beginning of fairies. International Fairy Day is the perfect opportunity to relive your childhood fantasies and celebrate the joy and magic of the fairy world. Read a classic fairy tale, build a fairy house, or take a stroll through the woods. You never know when you might stumble across something magical!
Holy moly......really?  You gonna need some ferry dust on your ars if your going to root for the Broncos this year......... ;D ;D

 8.
We are 72 days away from the start of the Texas High School Football Season and today is.....   Juneteenth Join this worldwide celebration that honors the end of slavery in the United States. Today, we reflect on and commemorate the freedom and independence of African Americans in America and around the world. Juneteenth was first celebrated in Texas in 1865 and has since spread across the United States and worldwide. People often wonder why Juneteenth is celebrated on the 19th of June, instead of on September 22nd, when the Emancipation Proclamation was issued by President Lincoln. The answer to this question is of great historical significance to the history of the United States: It was on June 18th that the Union Army marched into Galveston, Texas and enforced Lincoln's emancipation. Since then, celebrations in Galveston have been among the largest Juneteenth celebrations in the world!
Also known as keep your ars away from Galveston Week.  ;D ;D ;D

We were thinking of something the second weekend in August, but didnt want to book the same trip. Want to try going farther out now that I'm almost sure I won't spend the day turning green and heaving over the side of the boat.
Who'd yall fish with?  August is usually flat water.  Keep in min snapper closes net weekend, so that time of year we hve to catch other stuff and possibly "State snapper"...
Galveston Party Boats
Yeah, I don't normally recommend that trip.  The tackle and crown can be discouraging.  Jump on with us, we just get a few guys together and go make a meat haul.  I have all high quality tackle and we fish with whatever baits we need to catch fish.  Soon as snapper is over (end of month) we will be hitting Tuna and possibly sword fish, as well as grouper, ling, wahoo, and amberjack.  Jan/Feb we do flower gardens for wahoo.

 11. Guys, I got 2 or 3 spots open for this Sunday.  I have multiple people interested in those spots, but I love talking smack to my setx folks, so if you want to go call me asap.  I may even let you fish in a BH hat or something....LOL  832-275-0116  I am in Florida till 1130ish tomorrow (Eastern) and will be back around 130ish tomorrow in Houston.
 12. Sounds good Bullet.  As far as scheduling out, its easy to grab a spot.  If someone has 4 or 5 folks to go, then they can just get the whole boat.  If it's just one or two, I'll touch base with them and we will fit them in when their schedule allows.  It's all very informal for the most part.  I try to get 5 or so and we go fishing.  If we have an inexperienced group or have 5-6 people, I try to get a deck hand to help.  The deck hand is a good thing for everyone, and all I ask is you tip him if you are satisfied.    I provide all the tackle, lunch, water, bait, ice.  Just bring a hat, cool clothing, and sun screen.  Don't forget a small ice chest for fish, but keep it in the car.  We will clean fish at dock or have someone do it for $20-$30 bucks.  Fish get's bagged in gallon freezer bags and split evenly between fishermen/fisherwomen. It's a good time.  Liltex has been a several times, he can give you the scoop too.
 13. Yesterday you were stuffing food in your pockets, recently you were baking cooking, then ice cream, now a sandwich.  What is up over there in Dayton, that school got you all on Jenny Craig or something?  ;D ;D
 14. Piny woods represented well.
 15. Sorry guys been traveling.  The trips cost depend on how far we run and what we fish for.  We typically do bottom fishing trips, but I also do tuna and swordfish trips, but that's over-night trips.  We split the cost on trips between fishermen and it normally runs between $150 and $250 depending on how many people and how far we run.  It's all fuel dependent.  The bottom fishing is almost always 60-90 miles out.  That's just the range I like to fish, it helps to weed the smaller boats out and keeps us in blue water.  email me if you want to go.  We plan on running a trip this coming Sunday. [email protected]
 16. Townley looked much better in Blue, just sayin.  8)
 17. Fishing season has been good so far.  Tuna fishing this year has been outstanding.  Even a few big blue fin showin up.  Yellowfin and blackfin have been very good.
 18. We are 87 days away from Texas High School football and I jsut saw a septic truck towing a purple single wide trailer with a big white horseshoe on it, while driving through Dayton.  Octfeb and Tyronne were peaking out the seashell curtains, both wearing Summer Creek Bulldog hats.  ;)

 21. 62 Gag Grouper (released)  ;) ] 80-90 lb yellowfin (eatin by rabid fishermen) ] 48 Lb Gag (released again)  ;) ] Got a few on camera at home, but I am in Virginia this week.  BY WAY SNAPPER SEASON extended due to Texas and Louisiana law suit.  Now ends June 28th.
 22. Trying to upload but Image shack has screwed their web site all up.  I got a 62lb gag and 4 other groupe this weekend.  One really big Yellow Edge grouper, which was first one for me.  Just don't see them very often, especially 40 lb yellow edge.  Few big scamp as well.  Limits of 12-20lb snapper every trip.  Few ling.  One 80-90 lb yellowfin, tons of blackfin. I really suck at pictures because running the boat just does not lend itself to picture taking.  Working on pics.
If you take a swim in the brazos you won'tmake near 70%, just ask the aligators.
 24. I will be the first to donate to the cause: $ 100 for Summer Creek to NOT pay this year. $ 200 for Dayton fans dental work
 25. Too many big athletic kids for them to stink it up every year.  Something had to give. Maybe they are the next vidor and start spanking the poodles and the papoose tribe.  ;)
