1. UH.........., it was Atascocita...........  Man there are some bad teams this year......... ???
 2. Sounds like a Man trying to soften the blow to his reputation, knowing what's coming next week.  Props to PA News for publishing what any Nederland fan that was there saw.  :o

I wasnt talking bout Smith.  ;) That Soph might need to get in there a little bit from what i hear.
They then need to transfer their scraps to Nederland because they need all the help they can get....... ;D
 7. I admit i didn't do well keeping track of scores because of all the team swapping every quarter......what a mess.  Anyway, I think BH scored 4 times combined.  Central had one score against BH and I don't recall HF scoring against BH.  HF actually looked good against Central in the opening quarter, but lost their momentum after the quarter swap.  HF has a good QB and RB and looks to have good size for a 3A team.  I think they may surprise some folks this year (aka WOS). BH did dominate the scrimmage against both teams.  The defense looked pretty good.  The offense had it's moments, but they kept swapping QB's after each quarter so not easy to get a feel for what a real game might look like on offense.  The RB's for BH looked pretty good, one runs well downhill and the other is more shifty with a mix of power.  Hard to tell when the competition is weak, but not an overall flop.........and certainly better than Nederland or the two tonight.

But it will be nice when done......4 lanes with a turning lane
Well that will be nice for the ones who have to travel it all the time... If they ever finish it.. seems like they been working on it for years.. Kinda reminds me of the never ending construction on I-10
We had to delay road construction for the 2nd dollar store project.... ;D ;D ;D
 9. Speaking from someone who has planned, booked, and scheduled tournamants, B.S.  Fishermen want to fish great lakes, tournamanet directors want the most money from the city/business organizations, and sponsors want a large draw with an airport and interstate close-by.  If you think Sabine River is a great fishery, you need to take a boat ride with me for a lesson in great fisheries.

The second issue is depth, if we have a couple of injuries we could be in big trouble. Third issue is RB, smaller backs with average speed and an offensive line that's not  getting it done means no running game. If we can solve these issues and stay healthy we will be tough, if we don't we will be in for a fight for a playoff spot.
Oh wait, you forgot you need a QB too.  Not that that's important.... ;) Neither QB was worth a dime....
Dayton's Qube w/ be fine...you just worry about how crowded the parking lot will be at halftime on 10/26 when all the barbie-cue's are leaving with no hope of a 2nd half comeback... ;)
Uh, Dayton has a QB.  I do think the back-up should start so you can put #10 in the secondary as a safety.  I was referring to little-ned not having a QB.

 12. I chickened out due to weather and because it was played in the hood.  Liltex says SC had a decent QB and one decent receiver, but that's about it.  Guess I have to move them down to third, just above Dayton.... ;D ;D
 13.
I think the crosby vs nederland game will be tougher for nederland than I first thought. I will say though that I think this dayton team is going to make alot of good teams look bad. So I wouldnt judge nederlands ability to beat crosby on how dayton handled them in a scrimmage. All I heard last week was how terrible fw was. Maybe fw isnt that bad or nederland. On a side note the crosby twins sat up by me last night I cant believe the damage they can do at their size. Their listed at 5"6 160 must have been wearing tennis shoes and a weight belt. I guess its true speed kills.
You know I like alternate opinions, so here goes: Maybe Nederland and FW are really bad......which in my mind was apparent.  Maybe Dayton is decent and not good, but they made Dayton looks good.  ;) ;)

Livingston is next close to the rear losing to much hurts in this new year Lumberton fans hurt this 2012 year I wish them the best as they bring up the rear A little something for our 20-4A folks ;)
Better drive a nail in that Nederland coffin, they gonna need it.
 17.
Ive been reading a lot lately about this possibly being the best defense Nederland has ever had... Some say in the last 10 years at the least... WOS out scrimmaged them 14-7 Dayton 24-7 in first quarter of scrimmage That is 38 points in what?? 5 quarters of scrimmage play.(Insert Nederland fan comments here about how it's just a scrimmage-WHATEVER! It is what is..piss poor) The cold hard truth is..... Nederland has a crummy defense and will be lucky to go to the playoffs in 4rth place. New name for Nederlands defense - (Instead of The Dogpound) Lets just call it SWEET CUDDLY POUND PUPPIES NEEDING ADOPTION. That my friends...is THE COLD HARD TRUTH. PEACE
After watching that "Team" I would agree completely.  They are horrible.
 18. Her is the 1/2 time speach from Neuman.  Boys, we have to make those free-throws and when you set that pick-n-roll, make sure to keep your feet still.  Seriously, Nederland is probably the worse I have ever seen a team fall off in one year, EVER.  Don't be surprised if the dogs are watching someone else come playoff time.  Someone pass along to the offense the football is not a shot-put.  WOW, as bad of a team as I have seen in a long time.  Dayton was made to look decent tonight on Offense, when really it was just a poor nederland defense that made them look decent.  Lots of individual performances turned into points, sometimes, when they didn't fumble.  Even as bad as nederland's defense is, you saw just how weak Dayton's secondary is.  Dayton will come around, but Nederland needs to save the gas money and start working on basketball. That's the politically correct version......... ;)
When you have a team talented as ours its hard to keep quiet.
You'll find all of the teams in these discussions are very talented. BH is returning the player of the year in district play, has a solid pass defense and but the fact that they can't beat a certain set of teams, had a stellar season last year. Dayton went the furthest of any team in either districts in playoffs, they will be very good this year, and they have a ton of talent. Crosby of the 4 teams has the best backfield of any of the 4 and is very easily the MOST EXPLOSIVE (not necessarily better or worse) of any of the teams. SC has a good QB good receivers and an ok defense. the reason i say ok is the defense hasn't gone through a truly difficult season yet. Dayton has been good in 2 districts with 2 sets of very difficult opponents. Losses to Willis and Magnolia west aren't bad losses but how much better of losses are they than Barbers Hill losing to the two fastest teams they played, seems like they had a bit of bad luck, they get matched up against another smash mouth team they probably would have beat them. They did beat Nederland the opposing district champ 13-10. Yet Crosby beat them, and Dayton beat Crosby... because in 19-4a coaching will matter a lot, so hope your coaches and our (new staff) are up to the challenge of coaching in a great district and we will see you on the field..... p.s. no one has a tougher first 5 games than Crosby if we make it out of that 3-2 we are doing fantastic. wow.... Nederland/Willis/Dayton/bh/SC
Going to be a fun ride, but you will see Dayton better man-up or they are in trouble.  Not to mention their backfield is very weak, so they need changes there.  SC will destroy Dayton's current backfield.
 20.
I know, I know BHFAN and Smoking Baby are missing posts from their FAVORITE high school football fan... Well.... My son graduated this May and during July he went to Germany for three weeks in a Rotary Club student exchange program... At the end of my summer job at Camp Cayuga, my son and the German student started their three week stay in America... So...  For the last two and a half weeks I have been taking my new "son" Marian across the USA from Scranton Pennsylvania, to New York City, to Washington DC, to Gatlinburg, to Nashville, and all around Houston...  Marian will be able to attend school for two days and then we take him to Bush Airport during the first week of school so he can return home... Needless to say I have been busy with school starting... I am working on my website  [Hidden Content]; to update Dayton's new district...  Probably won't start my predictions until Week 1, but I will have the site updated this weekend. I hope everyone had an AWEsome summer, and if you have a child playing on the field on Friday Nights, good luck to them.... ps... If you ever have a chance to have your kid be involved with the Rotary Club exchange it is a NO BRAINER!!!  Great organization that does a lot for the youth of this country, and around the world.
Welcome back Spillburg, BH and Sonic missed ya.  Can't wait to see these 2012 prediction, which I am sure will make you glow of purple.  The exchange program is something I am actually familiar with, very cool deal.  One question:  When the kid came over form Germany to live in Dayton did you pull any of his teeth?  Seems he would not fit in otherwise.  ;D ;D
 21. Speaking of Huffman, how's our boy Townley doing?  Sure miss having him on the team at BH, although I certainly understand the move.
