Bh still has their 2 toughest district opponents coming up they should be worried about wrapping up district.
Yep, neither game is a cake walk. Boat Crosby and GCM are playing much better now than earlier in the year.

Who can clinch a playoff spot in Week 8!
bh89-2 replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads

It is crazy to see that three of the four playoff spots in 20-4A can be wrapped up after this weekend. In a district that usually comes down to week 10, with 2-4 teams vying for for at least 2 spots, it's quite surprising that we could have all four spots wrapped up before that final week of the regular season (with three coming this week). In all honesty, I see these three teams clinching this week: 20-4A Nederland can clinch a playoff spot with a win and an Ozen loss Vidor can clinch a playoff spot with a win and an Ozen loss Livingston can clinch a playoff spot with a win and an LC-M loss I believe Nederland will win their game against Lumberton and Ozen will lose to Livingston. Vidor will beat Central (again, Ozen loses to Livingston) Livingston will beat Ozen and LCM will lose to PNG. That will have Nederland, Vidor and Livingston in, with PNG only needing to win next week to clinch that final spot.
I know i'm shooting for the stars now but what would happen if like you said Nederland, Vidor, and Livingston clinch this week and next week PNG looses to Vidor and the week after that Central pulls off a miracle win and beats PNG. What would happen to the playoff picture then?
Well, if Nederland, Vidor and Livingston clinch then that would mean that the standings would be like this:

Team W L

Nederland 5 0

Livingston 4 1

Vidor 4 1

PN-G 3 2

Ozen 2 3

Central 1 4

LC-M 1 4

Lumberton 0 5

The wildcard in your scenario for the remainder of the season would be Ozen, who if the above 3 clinch would stand at 2-3 going to Week 9. If they split their two games (a likely scenario as they have Nederland in Week 9 and Lumberton in Week 10), PN-G loses their last 2 games (Vidor and Central) and Central wins their last 2 (Lumberton and PN-G) that would leave all 3 of those teams with a 3-4 district mark. First tiebreaker (head to head amongst the tied teams would be a wash as all would be 1-1. That means you would go to point spread in those games with, I believe, an 18 point cap. Central would have to beat PN-G by 13 or more points, which would give Central a +6 and PN-G a +5 to get that last playoff spot. Dizzy yet? I am!
OH Grad, man you got to get another hobby or more work to do....... ;D ;D -
We still have the "Mall". That's a feather in our cap. 8)
Oh man, I just wet my diaper. ;D ;D ;D That building is about 10 years past the tear it down now stage. The only hting you can get in there is a Puff-Daddy t-shirt and a bowl of oriental food from the "Cajun" fast food place. What dip-lilly Chinaman ever thought calling an oriental food place "Cajun" was appropriate. Talk about offending someone. A coon-ass would shoot you for serving rice noodles with gumbo.

If so, does anyone know if he will be back this week? What can Galena Park do on offense to score some points against BH?
GP does have a pretty good RB that has been injured since district began. When they played GCM he was on the sideline with a leg brace on, but i have not seen if he will or will not return. GP has been forced to throw a lot with out the RB and from what i have heard the QB just insn't very acurate with his throws.
That is an understatement.
He's got some wheels though!

We shall see. Got to love HS Football and even mre so, Opinions.

I have seen a lot of linebackers and BH has the best core group this year. Nederland and GCM were pretty good as well. BH's Rueter his a kid last week and it dislodged the chili-dog from Soulja's mouth who was in row W seat 12... AND we ALL know he can hold a weiner with the best of them. ;D ;D

***SETXsports HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RANKINGS - WEEK 8***
bh89-2 replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Dear Santa, All we want for Christmas is for WOS to be removed form the rankings, like should have happened last year. They beat HF, not exactly a powerful win there. Since you seems to be absent from the fact they are not very good, please pay particular attention to the butt kicking they are about to take this weekend. Then, after many prior miscalulations, promptly dump them off the list. Muchas Gracious ;D ;D -
Juan Carranco - Dayton.... 52 yd long. Has missed a couple this year, but IMO is still the best.
As many times as he punts, he should be the best in the State. ;D ;D ;D
This kid is sick!! Best RB I've ever seen in high school football.
Did you watch him in the state championship game last year? The kid is one of, if not the best RB I have ever seen. He is BIG, FAST, QUICK, STRONG, and amazing. He will run over you, around you, past you. What he needs is to come play a few games at BH.... ;D ;D
I can see how you guys are not sold on GCM. They will have to be consistent in winning to change anyone's opinion. These guys are learning how to play together and this could spell success. They have some big play ability but prefer to go with the big RB on offense. the O-line looks very good and if they do not have to throw, they won't. Our QB has minimized his mistakes and has answered the call the past few weeks, making very good decisions running (4 tds vs dayton) and throwing the football. If he continues to play this way, we will be just fine. I do not see Crosby slowing this offense down, we can run a power game (#44), 192 yds rushing vs Dayton or we can put a little "shake and bake" (#33) who torched GP for 157 rushing yds in just 2 qtrs. I do not buy into all the stats. We should have never lost to CE King and the guys appeared to have learned from this. We competed with Manvel for 2+ qtrs until turnovers did in our momentum. Nederland's "D" gave us problems but we scored on them as well. Both, Nederland and Manvel may be on their way to winning their districts. Playing these teams early just helped learn from the mistakes. Our Defense has learned a little discipline and cause a lot of turnovers but this week will say a lot about their ability to be consistent. They are quick but this will be their biggest test since the Manvel game. Good luck to both teams. I will not even predict what the outcome will be.
I will predict it, GCM will run the ball all night controlling possession. This is not the same team that played 4 or 5 weeks ago. GCM wins this one.
