Need a school in the North end close to Lumberton.

I do not have any personal bias towards any applicant. From what I have read the hiring committee made the correct choice. I understand how she feels (from the BE), but you have to trust the hiring committee. No one is guaranteed to stay if a better offer comes from success.

Period. [/quote] I attended one of the school board meetings earlier in the year.  I was astonished and mortified at the conduct of 2 of the school board members. If you had seen what I saw, you might have a different opinion of the whole situation. They had hatred in their eyes and treated Coach Huckabay in a way that no one deserves to be treated. If all they were concerned about was adding classes for different sports, they wouldn't have acted the way they did. The intentions they had were definitely personal. There is nothing anyone can say to change my mind. I saw it for myself, and at the time, I wasn't even aware of what was really going on. [/quote] You didn't pay your booster club fees  ;D [/quote] This is an unfair comment towards booster clubs.

The two finalist are just that. Mr. Dale had his shot and was not voted the top two. If the position comes available again then he has every right to apply again. If this petitition is an indication of what can be expected every time Mr. Dale applies then you risk the chance of Mr. Dale being excluded from further consideration. He does not want the job in this manner, if he did then I feel that disqualifies him. I don't speak for him, but if I were him I would urge them to stop this petition.He should be patient and continue to make a name for himself at Kountz. If the position ever comes available again then he would be a shoe in.

Barbay was not suprising. Its a good fit for Jasper.

Both come from large programs. Cary has in-laws that live in Hamshire. Cary has been at Port Neches for 3 years. Found an article on Harris that said he has been at Midland Lee only this year after working at Huntsville high. Not sure if Harris has any connections to the area or why he wants to move back (besides the opportunity to be the head coach) to this area. The article said Harris is from the Midland area. Both look like they can help the Horns return to greatness. Hopefully whomever the board hires will grow roots and stay a while. I noticed the schools website has an opening for head basketball coach.

Everyone started somewhere. I am sure Coach Mahaffey has been given consideration and he is a great coach in baseball. I think they have been to the playoff twice in the 3 or 4 years he has been at HF.

Hopefully yates can hang on to their players and they don't loose them to other schools since they have droped down.

He is coaching in Central Texas now (i think) so he is wanting back in the area.

Hamshire Fannetts middle school coach seems to do a good job. Not sure who it is, but they dominated this year.

I hope Justin Charrier applies for the position. It would be good to have Justin back.
