Man..... Who knew so many people were so sensitive. I don't know how so many people can read more into what I am saying than I am. First of all I said[b] I[/b] would disagree with choosing a Thursday game and gave what I felt were valid reasons why. Does not change a thing and I would not expect it to. I also added that I did not have to agree with something to support it. I only defended my position when I felt someone was going a bit far. But he sent me a PM and I respect his point of view and enjoy reading what he has to say. We are grown folks talking about something we are passionate about so that was it.  Once before I caught heat because I said that IMO the Cats have too much of a tendency to get sloppy and flat late in the game which is a bad habit which you can not do in the playoffs. I was a bit over zealous in the way I worded it which I appologized for. But after multiple turnovers late in the game against Center coach Alverez himself said basically the same thing in the banner. Then against BB again ONLY in the fourth the same thing happened. I am not saying that they are not a great team I said they are better than that.  That does not take away from what they have done. It would be sad if no one could say anything on here but "YEAH TEAM". This is a great team and they have a great shot at doing what no one outside of Kirbyville thought they would do. They have the talent and the drive to do it. So for the record.......Yes Alverez is a great coach, good man. Widcats......... Great team deserve respect and support, they can go all the way. What else can be said? Lets talk football

I agree that it wont change anything. I think Jack is one of the best coaches in the area and his leadership of these young men is fantanstic! That does not mean that he is above question and any decision he makes is flawless and unquestionable. Yes I am sure he will do what he thinks is best. You cant be a coach and be thin skined.  I am sure he is not worried about people disagreeing with him it comes with the territory. We can just agree to disagree and talk some football.

[/quote] I know that there is an unwritten rule on this site about not agreeing with moderators or "seniors" and that anyone who dares is rediculed but I can not blindley agree with something that is not good for the students or the fans. If you were in Kville on friday you would have seen quite a few high school students around town. I saw two that people on this site would recognize their names. Why were n't they in school? Because they got in to late. I fully support this team and I want them to get what they have worked so hard for. Yes I understand that Jack is limited in his decision but the idea that he gets some magical tactical advantage to playing on Thursday is rediculous. I am not being a whinner because it some inconvienince to me. I am lucky enough that my job allows me to take off when I want but how many people can have that option.  My wife helped many of the starters on this team to meet math requierments that not only allowed them to play sports but help them with skills that will allow them to graduate. When she sees them their school work is the first thing they talk about ....Then about how they are going to take the next team they are up against apart! If you want to drink the cool aid that no desicion made in the name of football is above question then go right ahead. There are also band members, cheerleaders and others that are effected.  People in Kirbyville support the Cats win or loose and did way before their recent succeses and will continue to. The team provides a source of pride and polarity that any town would be lucky to have. You question my loyalty as a fan because I disagree with this situation. Well I am a fan of these young men on and off the field. They give up  a lot to their community and I want to see them succeed. This is a lot of talk over a subject that we will never agree on.  We all want to see the keep winning and they never have to worry about fan support. Best of luck Cats! You can do it!

[/quote] The coaches like the Thur games because it creates a short week so the boys will stay focused and the coaches can go scout potential opponents on Friday.  Yes, it's harder for the fans but not so much to the kids that play and those in the band.  [/quote] I see your point on the scouting but there are few suprises left at this point of the game. I got two teenagers in bed about 1 this morning after the buses got in and we all got home. If how our day started this morning is any indication of how the school day went for others they might as well of canceled school today. We did not have any Thursday games the last two years. Not questioning Jacks coaching just his choice of days.

IT is sorry to intensionaly pick a Thursday IMO. Disrespectful to fans that suport you. Its  harder for fans, players, band and students. If there is a good reason for it fine but there is no benifit to a Thursday game. All the fields 100 yards long and the Cats can win on any one of them.
