Woodville has made Southeast Texas proud by reaching the State championship, but Gunter operates on an entirely different level when it comes to football. For Woodville to compete, they’ll need to address and clean up several fixable mistakes. While an upset would be incredible, the reality is that Gunter’s talent and coaching give them a clear edge. For Woodville to win, they must play flawless football. Grand Saline can score in a variety of ways, making them an unpredictable squad. Even though Woodville has the advantage, it will probably be a competitive game. In my opinion.

I’m proud of the way the Cardinals represented the 409 area. The Pirates thought it was going to be an easy win. Thank you for a great season.

This year, Bridge City has performed admirably against opponents in lower classes. Their capacity to compete against opponents in the same or higher divisions doesn't convince me. Taking that into consideration, I'll say BC 54 OF 6.

Absolutely, a higher classification junior varsity (JV) squad can be a great alternative if a varsity-level opponent is unavailable. Playing against a JV team from a larger or more competitive program can still provide valuable game experience, challenge players' skills, and help maintain the team's competitive edge. It also keeps the athletes engaged, builds team chemistry, and offers an opportunity to test strategies and player development in a real-game environment. While it may not be the same as facing a varsity-level squad, the competition against a strong JV team can still help improve the team’s overall performance and prepare them for future varsity games.

The Eagles have to rearrange their thought process if they want to revive Eagle tradition. That's the good ole boy tactic. A successful tradition cannot coexist with ongoing preferential treatment.

Eagles, great season. I was surprised by Dangerfield's level of talent. A few aspects about the first half of the game that I disagreed with were the referees' disregard for foul plays by the other team, which I think psychologically destroyed the squad. All in all, I'm excited about the Eagles' December play and am looking forward to next season.
