  1. Well...the Tuesday night games are over and the Friday game is next in line. Any confirmation on this? I can't wait to hear the spin on this one!
  2. PNG has a much better team than I gave them credit for going in. They have a great O-line and tough runners that are hard to bring down. The Reservation is a first class facility and a great setting for high school football. I'm sure the people of the PNG school district are proud of their renovations and accomplishments. I know that "moral victories" don't carry a whole lot of weight and "W's" are what it's all about, but as an LCM fan you can't be anything but pleased with the way the season is shaping up and what the future looks like for the Bears. For the last several years our kids have been labeled as "soft" and "undisciplined"...that seems to be changing. The coaching staff has done a great job of teaching, coaching, and putting our kids in a position to win ball games. I believe the Bears have several "W's" left in them this season.
  3. His beak AND his head? Man, somebody must have been baking all day to have enough cupcakes for his beak and his head! ;D Did the girls all jump him at once or did they take turn beating him up one at a time? Happy Birthday Old Man! Oh, and your text message was a little rough Friday...I was just trying to help! ;D ;D
  4. Thank you so much for the grammar check. I guess the professor I had in college must have learned me wrong. Oops, there I go again should have said taught me wrong. I was trying to speak in LCM Ebonics, you know all you back wood fellows would re-frame anything if you had too. Is 7 your age or IQ? Must be your IQ, because this board is for opinions and facts so please "refrain" from the comments. Oh by-the-way, when are the goal post not on the playing surface? The last time I check there was 120 yards between them! Is this a trick question? ;D The goal posts have not been on the playing surface since the 1960's. ;D
  5. I started to respond to this thread earlier, but "re-framed" from doing so. ;D See you at the game!
  6. The school district and school "zones" are not affected by the city limits. Even though the schools get their tax money, the LC areas that were strong armed into annexation get the pleasure of adding new taxes money (for unwanted services) to the city of Orange. Hey, Thanks again Mr Claybar! :
  7. I guess that's one way to ensure that you don't lose your home field advantage! I would be very leery if I was one of those fans who "already have my ticket". You better still get there WAY early or I'm afraid you'll really be upset. It doesn't sound like Livingston has a good plan to handle the crowds that will show up this season.
  8. Even though I like LCM's chances in this game, I'd like for the Bears to "fly under the radar" for as long as possible. Guaranteeing (100%) a win doesn't do much but add fuel to the fire, ESPECIALLY if you are not really even from LCM anyway. Aren't your true colors red and white? (I am assuming this from some other threads...I apologize in advance if I'm incorrect.)
  9. Gas, Although I personally thought your post was good...logic and good sense have no business being interwoven into this thread. This district opener is big and hopefully the timid Bears will be able to be competitive even though they are going into this game as such a huge underdog. :
  10. Here's your black & white straight from the rosters provided for the game between LCM and wos. WOS #5 - Justin Thomas 155lb Soph #13 - DeCarlos Renfro 155lb Soph #19 - Robert Redd 182lb Soph #43 - Britton Lindsey 150lb Soph #52 - Lawrence Gilmore 201lb Soph LCM #3 - Casey Burleigh 160lb Soph #4 - Tyler Wright 140lb Soph #12 - Preston Armstrong 185lb Soph #23 - Ruben Alinez 180lb Soph #50 - Hayden Reed 205lb Soph #88 - Jordan Harmon 165lb Soph
  11. I'm afraid that may not be the only bubble that is burst before the year is up. Unless wos dresses out players that are not listed on their roster, LCM has more varsity Sophomores than wos.
  12. Jeremy Chauvin has been outstanding so far this season for the Bears! I wish him and the Bears the best of luck the remainder of the year. In the last paragraph of this article Jeremy says "I think with these next four road games, it will test our character." I think this is a very fitting statement for this young man to make and maybe this young mans "character" is what is shining through now. You have to respect the perseverance of the few seniors on this team who have continued to work hard through the last few years of termoil in Bear Country. Congratulations Jeremy!
  13. ??? ??? I don't know, why would you ask? : : : (OK, the ball is now on the tee nice and high...right where you like it...go ahead, swing away.)
  14. AGREED!! But if they could find one chipmunk who could sing bass they could make millions!!! ;D ;D 2 pages of noncommittal verbiage...I'm really surprised no one has lashed out yet.
  15. I'm not sure what the rest of the district has, but Deweyville will surprise a LOT of people this year. I had the chance to see them a couple of times a few months ago in a summer league and they are much improved. D'ville played way more aggressively than they have in the past and I'm assuming the new coach has instilled that. The guards were pretty good, but the most impressive play came from a big post player that I understand is young. (Sophomore, I think) Sorry, I have no name...I'm sure someone from D'ville can reply with this young ladies name. The only thing I didn't see is if this team can run. They played defense almost exclusively in a 2-3 which is almost unheard of in summer league ball. Good luck to Deweyville.
  16. We will contact everyone. I haven't been contacted yet...what's the holdup? ;D
  17. I'm not sure there are any great surprises hanging out there in our area this season. The above looks fairly accurate to me. In the 4A ranks, Central has been the most talented (IMO) the past few years. The neighbors to the east in BH may have a really good argument with that this season. I think H-J will be the cream of the crop in 3A.
  18. For someone who didn't understand the comment you explained it well! ;D ;D
  19. ;D Been awake...just low profile. :-X
  20. Like Venom33 says, what has LCM done to show that they can even have a chance at beating a team like WOS. No offense to anyone, but winning a couple of scrimmages doesn't count. Which, by the way, according to another thread the winner hasn't been determined in one of those. Here's how I see it going down, Friday afternoon LCM has a big pep rally and gets all pumped up. Crouch gives a big talk before they take the field Friday night. By 8:00 PM, they are not as pumped because they can't stop WOS from scoring. By 8:30 they are completely heart broken, and it just goes downhill from there. And the night ends with the entire team crawling back to the locker room like little cubs. ***A bear may be bigger and stronger than a mustang, but that doesn't matter one bit if that bear can't catch the mustang.*** I cant understand why a team like WOS that prides itself on playing such a tough preseason schedule would even want to play the Bears when its so evident from this thread that the Bears dont have a chance. : 77, I think some people use some sort of a reference to a "snowball's chance...", but the Bears will have to play wo-s if it's on the schedule I guess. LCM is picked dead last in their district and it seems like many have all ready requested that the UIL go ahead and start engraving wos's name on the state championship trophy. Seems like an unjust matchup to me. :
  21. Until you hear it from Dan Hooks I wouldn't read too much into it. That being said Vidor always plays us tough, especially at their place. I also have never seen a team that WOS or Dan Hooks was afraid to play. A reliable source said he overheard Dan Hooks say that WOS is not afraid to play any team...except the one this week! ;D The title of this thread has already been changed one time. How about changing it again to read "Most irrelevant thread of '09".
  22. Then yall should have no problem with them when yall meet up with them in district. td, That's youth talking. Just put the paddle down and slowly walk away. Easy...easy...that's it. ;D ;D
  23. You are right, there is some REAL talent out there. LCM will not be very deep this year I'm afraid. I think 4 seniors, 3 or 4 juniors, but a huge sophomore class. Hopefully someone unexpected will step up. My guess is that 3 (maybe 4) of our varsity starters are playing that communist net game. Probably no fall league for that reason, but we have a few that would love and need to travel to any open gyms where they might be welcomed in pick up games.
  24. Too many of our girls are involved in stinking volleyball!!! :'( :'( Good luck to BH. I just might have to come take in a few of these games in Oct.
  25. They're saving the photos of the high school players for the cover of the "College Preview Guide". ;D
