"Sorry for the ramble, I just wanted to get that off my chest before the season started and the polls and comparison topics hit the internet." This should have been the FIRST line instead of the ending! ;D

That's not what I was told by a very reliable source. skipper? ??? ;D -
You are so right It is all about income. That new field at PNG did not come cheep, but Fans do not make the team better. There is no better fan base than PNG and they have not made the playoffs in years. So the fans can pay the bills but they dont win games. Fans don't win games although the surely add to it and they don't necessarily pay the bills either. Taxes pay the bills not gate receipts, and there are many people who foot the bills through their taxes that don't attend football games.

Sounds like a Jeopardy question....there is only one correct answer.

Fans are important within their role. To be supportive of their school, the players, and coaches that represent their district. It has been a topic of discussion that some area schools have so much "fan input" that coaches are reluctant to accept jobs at those schools. I just have a hard time envisioning a game at WO when Dan Ray Hooks would run from the sideline to the track and grab a megaphone from a cheerleader, face the crowd, and yell "Hey, it's 3rd and 3...what do ya'll want to do?" ;D

Whose "house" do you hate to go into?

Now that some areas of LCM are a part of the !#@$ city, maybe the police force will kick in some money to help pay for all that water we use to wet the field down on "special" weeks. -
The year they started being referred to as BoJo was the year they went 10 - 0 if I'm not mistaken, so to answer your question, yeah they were real good. Had to go look it up, it was 1994. Okay, this is the last time I'll modify this since you guys say they were better years ago, LCM has been in the post season 6 times by my count. 1961 Bi-District Round, 1969 Bi-District Round, 1992 Bi-District Round, 1994 Area Round, 1995 Bi-District Round, 1997 Quarter-Final Round (surprise there). They way I see it, the 90's were the best decade for LCM. Wrong about the "BOJO" beginnings. That only started a few years ago when Moody arrived. He brought "BOJO" but left behind his playbook.

Do you and skipper share the same source? ;D I feel terrible for the Mustangs. Will WOS still try to play the rest of their games this season or will they go ahead and forfeit? ??? Are you trying to get us to forfeit against LCM??????? ;D Don't have to, but if you think that's in your best interest... ;D At least we now have a coach that will not try to "create" a reason not to play. In the spirit of sportsmanship, I think we should go ahead and play the game, even if it's not in our best interest. ;D Good call...looking forward to it!

Mustangs DB names five finalists for commitment

BINGO! Finally, a blue and silver realist. ;D Always not finally. ;D "Call 'em like you see 'em" is always the best policy. Some famous coach once said "With the forward pass only three things can happen...and two of them are bad." -

How many juniors are on the team this year? 5, but returning 2 sophs and 2 fresh (all probable starters next year). Most of the talent depth is in the current freshman and soph classes. I don't envy coach determining varsity next year, it will be the most talented group of girls top to bottom to come through BH maybe ever. Oh yeah, and there is that amazing bunch coming out of 8th. This young group at Barbers Hill has all the pieces to be "scary good" in the next few years. There are a few quality small schools in the area, but this BH group has the potential to be the cream of the crop of ANY classification size if they continue to do the right things. When I saw them play a few times last year it was easy to see their talent/skills level, but the most impressive part of their game to me was the composure and mindset of these very young basketball players. This is a team I'd really like to play in the pre-season in an effort to get better...and at the same time hope I DON'T have to see them in the post season. ;D

;D ;D Thanks for the laugh anyway...I made up my own. ;D

Hooks speaks English...does that mean he should be in charge of hiring the English teachers at WOS? ;D You are preaching to the choir. I'm with you. The Super handed out special awards at the athletic banquet just for basketball. Let me rephrase that, he made up special awards but didn't come and had them handed out in his honor. Nothing for baseball, softball or track. I do think there was one for the kicker on the football team. Nothing ever seems to make sense. It's always skewed one way or the other. I would just like for something to make common sense from our district. Just one thing. Special awards? Did everybody get participation ribbons? (Sorry...pet peeve. ) Sometimes nothing seems to make sense. I know that the board and the super have tough jobs especially in these financially tough times, but you get the feeling that some of the decisions that have been made lately have been done without much input or explanation to the citizens of the WOS district. It gives the air of "You are not smart enough to understand what I know." Hey, even if I'm NOT smart enough to understand all the ins and outs, aren't I still owed a sensable answer to any of the questions I might have about my district? (any district) That's just my read...maybe I'm wrong. ???

It's a shame that glove doesn't work. What glove was she using when she made that running/diving catch in left centerfield Sunday afternoon? If it's the "glove" that made that catch, you've put way too low of a price tag on it. ;D -
No...its because some Lumberton fans think that 2 seasons of limited success is a "history" of winning.

Everytime I've driven by there seems to be a lot of activity going on. I think dayton is right about the dirtwork and foundation. Once that is complete, you should be able to see more tangible progress.
