No way that happens anytime in the near future. If Lumberton keeps growing like they have been (I think they will) LCM will be the smallest in the district. Agreed. LCM growing to 5A is probably not even going to happen in the distant future. The annexation is stunting the growth North of Orange. (And YES...I'm still whining!) :'( It's still working too. ;D Yea, right.

Ok, maybe "volatile situation" is not the right word to use. Sorry. What I was referring to is the fact that the coaches from heat were so upset about us questioning that call. Then started mouthing stuff about Crush and how it is all technical when you play against Crush, and all the other little "comments" they were making from the dugout. Then said something to the effect of if we are playing so much by the rules then I needed to stay in the coaches box. The umpire called both coaches out and put all defensive coaches in the dugout and said all offensive coaches must stay in the boxes. That is what I was referring to, how the umpire handled that. And yes, it was a good game. Enjoyed it!! Just stay in our box! I did after they told me to! ;D It was kind of hard though!! There's a box? ???

POSTPONED! The above mentioned open practice and tryout has been postponed until possibly next Sunday afternoon. Updates and exact times & dates to follow soon. You mean postponed until the "FIELD" is worked on to where it can be used ! LMAO :D CC, We are using Field #2 as a fundraiser. One more week of rain and a little sunshine and we are going get a sod cutter and sell the infield. ;D We should be able to make quite a bit of money.

This may be the most misrepresented and inappropriately titled thread on the board. I have yet to find anything "controversial" about any of this. Can one of the moderators step up and change this thread title to "Holy Cow! LCM Head Coach/AD taking steps to move in the right direction! ;D

I Agree with nikespeed's assessment of the situation. some of the witnesses,if this kid is charged, said that there may have been ten seconds before the kid was tased. IN THEIR EYES , the kid seemed to realized what he had done and backed off ,then he was grabbed and tased. THEY ALSO SAID THERE WAS NO FIGHT JUST ALOT OF NAME CALLING AND PROFILING NO PUNCHES THROWN UNTIL THE KID WAS GRABED BY THE THROAT !!! The player whom started this incident and fought if you believe the news report " how stupid now if any of the facts were inaccurate LCM and the police locked themselves in a bad position" the students who fight are charged with assault, have to go in front off "THE JUDGE", and are kicked out of athletics! Crouch said so yesterday !!!! By the way, this kid,s mother will not let this go down if there is any hint of a cover up. SHe is the lady who was giving Coach Moody heck at the Lumberton game!!! "Madea" is a girl scout campaired to her!!!!!! OUT Of all the parents , this may not be the one to mess with, drop the charges exspell thekid and kick the other out of the program! The "other kids" did not assault an officer. Everyone involved should be punished to the degree in which they were involved.

Hopefully by parents there to congratulate the administration for handling this situation. Maybe "Nikespeed" will be there to plead his case.

I have just one more note on Hunter to show how versatile of an athlete he is. A few weeks ago Hunter attended a basketball camp at Baylor University. His weekend court performance was so impressive that he received an invitation to participate in a Nation-wide basketball tournament held this July in Champagne, Illionois representing the state of Texas. This tourney will have an all-star team from just about every state.

Wo-s has a Qb that is better than both...Don't need him. ummmm.... I think he was talking about Deweyville since WOS is south of LCM. That North/South thing trips some people up everytime. ;D

txstar, Lighten up! Nothing at all foolish about the post. I see it as a positive situation for the team. This isn't a T.O. vs Romo thing, just two very good young high school athletes competing for a position. It's not "controversial"...it's competition. Hey, but what do I know...I added a few extra bucks to my tax return to buy the President's dog some Milk Bones. ;D

I hope this is the start of some controversy over EVERY position on the field at LCM. ;D Hunter Gonzales is a great athlete and the apparent quarterback coming back...but maybe Sonnier doesn't see it that way. The competition is good for the program.

I don't hate 2A football. I made my statement based on what I wanted to do for my kids. 2A doesn't get near the exposure that 4A or 5A gets. I know athletes are where you find them and the theory is they will be found. I agree with that to an extent. However, I know a lot of kids that have gotten to go play college ball because a scout was there to watch another player. True statements td. There are some GREAT 3A & 2A players from the past that have gone on to do well in college ball and beyond, but for the most part the larger classifications get WAY more exposure and notoriety than smaller schools. There are many reasons for this and every one of them is relevant and valid. Why would you want to drop down to have a shot at a championship? That's like saying "I hope this teacher grades on a curve." You might "look better", but you still haven't really accomplished what you wanted.

Yesterday at Spanky's, I overheard a friend of mine who is a reliable source who used to be a board member who talks to the WOS coaches on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays. He was talking to a guy that I know because he is my uncles second cousin twice removed by marriage on my wife's side. He asked the bartender if it was true about what Ralph the bus boy had said about WOS having some kids with speed this year. Ralph said it WAS true because his ex-wife's stepson was on the JV last year and had seen some fast kids at practice. I had heard that Hooks was happy because he has some good returning players. ( I know it's not an authentic skipper post, but I thought I would give it a shot while he's gone) ;D Skipper...come back!

Is it too early to push for Crouch to get a raise? ;D It doesn't matter if LCM gets beat 100 - 0, at least Coach Crouch has LCM involved in 7 on 7 for the first time ever (I think) and is already making an effort to get better and compete. SWEET!
