  1. Maybe not many, but I hope a couple come with Crouch. I think it's out there.
  2. TD, The "official" acceptance of the job will be taken at February 9th's LCM school board meeting. I imagine that is when the celebrations will begin and the welcoming committee will be in full force. I expect there will be a larger than normal crowd in attendance at the Feb board meeting and even more well wishers in the parking lot wanting to have a chance to welcome Coach Crouch back to Bear Country. I've been told that through a good rapore with our neighbors at WOS, Coach Crouch will take over the duties at LCM immediately. At 1:01AM Tuesday February 10th, there will be a small bonfire in which all of the Coach's blue and silver wardrobe will be burned. He will report to Bear Country Tuesday morning decked out from head to toe in Green & Gold! The new "Captain" will have the "ship" at full sail with a strong wind at our back and the rudder pointed straight ahead in no time at all! Full speed ahead TD...Full speed ahead! ;D ;D OK, I liked all of that except the part about the burning of the blue and silver. There goes the good rapore you had with your friendly neighbors at WOS Where are the school board meetings held? I would like to attend and be one of the well wishers. I hope LCM wins 9 games every single year. 8) Coincidentally there are many students to be recognized at Monday's board meeting and a large crowd is expected so the meeting is being held at the HS auditorium, 6:30. WARNING TD!!! Attend at your own risk. You may witness the proper way to conduct a board meeting. You may also subconsciously find yourself attracted to green and gold. Thanks mat for giving everyone the heads up on the board meeting change. I think it's great that the board recognizes theses outstanding students and parents during the board meetings since the rules or law or whatever crazy crap it is that makes it "inappropriate" to recognize success in the classroom during school hours because it might upset the kids who didn't do well. : Anyway...I understand that there are all kinds of festivities planned for the big meeting that will include the cheerleaders, band, and others. (td...bring your own marshmellows for the bon fire! ;D) What next? WOS can't afford to bus the kids anymore and LCM can't afford marshmallows. What is the world coming to? ;D ;D #@*^&#!! You got me...I'm at a loss for words. :'(

In order for us to have 9 wins through district we would almost certainly have to win all pre-district games. I can't believe you would be pulling for us to beat...oh, I guess you meant...never mind. ;D ;D The board meetings are held at the district administration offices at the corner of MLK and FM1130 (Meeks). Right across the street from LCJH. See you there! You know I've only been on the home side once (so far). I tell you what you tell Coach Crouch when he does box all of that blue and silver up to just bring it down to my office or better yet I will come pick it up. I can find something to do with it. TD, Is there some big announcement you'd like to make? You've made two very suggestive hints in this one thread. When talking about you being in green and gold you are quoted as saying: "I'm not saying there won't ever be a day" and also "You know I've only been on the home side once (so far)" I'd love to get you some season tickets next to me for the games, but you better let me know in a hurry...tickets will be going fast! Oh...and I'm not sure about getting you that box of blue and silver. Rumor has it that he was spotted with his truck at the "Bear Wash" on Hi-87 yesterday with an open half-empty box on the back seat! ??? ;D ;D No big announcements at all. Not even a little one. I just try never to say never. Especially if we can't get our business straightened out. So much for the box of blue and silver. I didn't really think so...just giving you a hard time. Thanks for supporting us from across town though! I'll save you a seat anyway just in case you want to come to Bear Country and visit again.

  6. That's for 4th place right? A Lady Bear victory would pretty much close the door on Nederland's playoff hopes. A Nederland win and the dogs stay alive even though they would still have a lot of work to do.

  8. You're right. About 4 or 5 good tosses with a rock and you could hit his new office from the house he has owned for years.

  10. I wouldn't call it a cat fight. LCM looked very, very bad. Probably one of the worse games they have played all year. Of course. Central probably had allot to do with them playing bad. Central is definitely the cream of the crop in this district. BY SAYING "CAT FIGHT", I MEANT THAT THERE WAS ALOT OF HARD FOULS, WHERE SOME WERE CALLED AND SOME WEREN'T. AND ABOUT THE SCORE, I BELEIVE BOTH TEAMS SHOULD'VE SCORED MORE, THAN THE DID. You are right about the hard fouls throughout this game. I've given up on trying to figure out some officiating crews "style or reasoning". In this game there were several "no calls" on what looked like almost intentional fouls where more than one player was left layed out on the court, and then the next time down the floor they would blow the whistle on a token hand check. No rhyme or reason sometimes.
  11. BHFan, Hillguy, or Bobcat05... What is going on in the 19-4A district race? Are BH and Kingwood Park now tied at the top? ???
  12. Is the TAKS issue really dead? When is the next re-vote? : ;D
  13. In the first meeting between these two teams Central led at the half by 4 or 5 points and LCM played tough the whole game. This time it was obvious that the Jags had talked about that slow start in game one and exploded and attacked from the opening tip. LCM was on their heels the whole first half. The second half LCM played better, but Central is WAY to good to make up that kind of a deficit. Central is strong and well coached...they could make a pretty good run in the playoffs. I know Ozen is loaded with athletes, but IMO, Central has proven themselves to stand out as absolutely the best team in 20-4A.
  14. I may be way off here, but these are my thoughts on the intent of the survey. I don't think the comments were posted because they really don't matter. I think this survey was a statement by the LCM administration instead of a plea for help. It seems that the questions are actually the base for criteria set by the administration for the new HC/AD. The admin is just letting the community know that there is more to hiring a coach than just basing it on his win/loss record. On the flip side of that...there are not many successful coaches that don't have most of the qualities listed within the survey anyway. Although I'm sure the comments were scanned through...I get the feeling this is more informational and about making the community feel involved in the hiring process. Spoken like a true POLITICIAN !! LOL ;D ;D And someone that will still have several years with kids in the High School... Couldn't pass it up Slam ! Seeing a political twist doesn't make me a politician does it? ??? Well...CC...maybe you're right...sometimes I confuse MYSELF! ;D ;D

  16. Whatever happened to being held accountable for your actions? Underaged drinking is against the law. Sexual assault is against the law. Providing alcohol to minors is against the law.
  17. ??? From TD Now all of the sudden they don't think they should pick out single items to cut. They think they should look at the whole budget to decide what is best to cut. Really? I wonder which genius came up with that idea. It seems they could use the $10,000 that was saved on the Dan R Hooks sign to pay for the busing. They said no one had come up with an optional way to pay for it. Now they have one. Dr. Collins himself told me they were going to fix the sign and then didn't so use the money he was going to use to pay for busing. It's just odd that they pick out one thing and then decide not to piece mill it? Had this been part of a $500,000 plan to cut the budget it would have been much easier to swallow. That would take care of this years cost...what about next year? I truly wish all the concerned WOS fans and district citizens good luck in trying to get this issue and other tough decisions resolved. It's not going to be easy. Well let's see I only had a few days to come up with that. ;D If we get it resolved for this year we can get to the root of the real problem and correct the entire budget. Seriously can a budget be piece milled like this? No. If it gets corrected and done properly you may not need to even cut the busing. For now I think we should have stopped hiring people. Unless I'm mistaken we have hired a few since the storm. How much sense does that make? :-X :-X ;D
  18. I heard the same rumor, but for now it's just rumor. It was also reported that Bolton had interviewed and how impressed the school was with him. I'm not taking anything away from Bolton, he's a worthy candidate, I just knew he hadn't interviewed yet. Feb. 9th now seems to be the target date to possibly end the rumors.

  20. If all goes well, recommendations to the board at the regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 9th. ;D
  21. A lot of people are accused of being "WOS haters". That's not always the case...sometimes it's just easier to see things a little clearer when you're not emotionally involved. I agree and don't think the WOS school board has any intention of overturning their decision to cut some of the budget by stopping the extra busing. No matter where the cuts come from not everybody will be happy...will they waver on those decisions too?
  22. Orangefield, Coldspring, WOS, Cleveland, and Splendora will have 2 hour one way travel for district games. That's ridiculous. That kind of travel is necessary out in West Texas, but not around here. I think the fact of having neighborhood districts is far more important than this "equaling" : the playing field concept. I think it's unnecessary too, but it still happens. Livingston moves to district 20-4A this year to create a 2 hour drive for every school in the district and multiple drives for Livingston.
  23. I wonder if people on the street would spend $2-3K to get the best AP Microeconomics teacher in the state???? Sure, the same day the economics dept. brings the income the football program does, no problem. Never understood what makes a football coach worth so much more in education than a teacher........I guess now I do. :-[ Actually if one was to really look at the numbers one would find football does not make that much money in the big picture. When is the last time 14,000 packed a stadium to watch a microeconomics test? When is the last time the AP microeconomics department spent 2 Million dollars to to renovate the classroom?
  24. is right! Bobcat05, do you have a story line on what happened here? I heard a half time score of this game and I thought Nederland had 19 at the half. Where they held to only 4 points for the second half?
