  1. Slam runs for school board and changes the "Mood" ;D Come on what else do you have to do? 8) :-X :-X ;D
  2. The Giants had one of the luckiest (and greatest) catches I've ever seen in the Super Bowl. Does that mean that New England is actually still the World Champion?
  3. The "Mood" is still not right for a win in Bear Country.
  4. We need to stop clogging the system with unnecessary threads. ;D
  5. They'll probably get in, but you still have to play 'em all. I don't really consider myself to be ignorant and I have seen the dogs play one game this season...WOS. I know Ned continues to improve, but they weren't real impressive that night.
  6. It's my understanding that this teams name, equipment, current acceptances into major tournaments, etc. were sold $$$ to the current coach. ? It will be interesting to see if current Peppers players accept and stay under this leadership. (If you stay you MIGHT get to play more years than you expected ;D)
  7. I think your hopes are a reality. Things have to change at LCM.
  8. Cough! Cough! Beautiful South East Texas sunrise and sunset! ;D
  9. I completely disagree with Moody's call on this.... but it is his call to make. Coaching should not be done by committee or "the entire community". He was wrong in my opinion but it is his right to make that call. Yep, but the school board has the right to judge his actions as the football HC and AD. As the LCM athletic director, Coach Moody has the right and power to make this decision...even if it's a dumb one. BUT, he should have to answer to the LCM community and school board. I'm an avid LCM supporter, have three children in the LCM school district, and have been a season ticket holder for about 20 years. I ALWAYS try to support the decisions of school officials, but I'm having a hard time swallowing this one. Coach Moody's reasoning for cancelling the game is weak at best. The only way for us to get better is to work hard, be disciplined, AND play good competition. The worst thing for a struggling program is to have "spring work outs", an open week, and then cancel game 2. How much farther can you put your our team behind? For a guy who uses a lot of quotes and philosophies...this is a terrible lesson to be teaching. Actions speak louder than words.
  10. How many hours..we only got in two hours today....but it was a good workout. The fields WERE in great shape and no more rain through the day made the work and field prep well worth it. Great work outs! ;D (always try to dodge loaded questions)
  11. Anyone getting to work the gals? Lots of rain this way for over a week. Got in a marathon tryout last Sunday and have another on tab for this afternoon. After a lot of work yesterday the fields looked good. We got another big shot of rain yesterday evening to mess things up again. We got the field maintenance crew going again this morning and if the rains hold off we should be able to pull off the scheduled workout today.
  12. Congrats Debra!! You're a great young lady who believes in herself and stayed committed. I wish you the best.
  13. Orange CRUSH (Thompson) 16/18 will host an open practice/tryout again this Sunday August 24 at 2:00PM on Field 2 of the CRUSH complex. All interested players are urged and invited to attend. The rains have ended (hopefully) and the sun is shining...hope to see you Sunday!
  14. Great field work with Birdman and WJBooger shouldering much of the work. (NEWS...I know you were in there too.) C. McClain did a full share of trench digging and mud sloshing Saturday as well. Thanks to everyone who made what seemed like an impossible (or at least improbable) task a big success. P.S. ---- I think all of that work slowed WJ's reaction time down a little. That could have been bad!!!
  15. In all likelyhood tomorrows tryouts will be rained out. If so, we will reschedule for next Sunday August 24th at 2:00PM at the Crush fields. Contact numbers if there are any questions about field conditions or if tryouts could possibly happen tomorrow are 313-1634 or 313-2730.
  16. Speechless for a change? ;D No. He just started his first "." Now that's even funnier! ;D ROTFLMAO !!! ;D ;D ;D NEWS, You must really be busy. I can't believe it's been 24 hours and you haven't defended yourself here. (It was PDF! ;D)
  17. Orange CRUSH 16/18 (Thompson) will hold the first of several open tryouts at 2:00PM Sunday August 17th at the CRUSH field complex on field #2. This team will step out of the 14u ranks and challenge it's players by playing an extremely competitive schedule regardless of age class. A few of this teams recent accomplishments include back to back 2007 & 2008 USFA Texas State Championships as well as being one of only two true 14U teams to qualify for the 18U NAFA Nationals. We are looking for athletes with heart, desire, and a team attitude. For more information call Coach Tommy Thompson @746-7368 (day) and 313-1634 (evenings) Coach Kevin Wiggins @ 313-2730
  18. From what I heard in Beaumont the both 12U Crush-Collins coaches got chunked and News came about as close to getting thrown as you can get. I would have figured he would have been first. :D Pappa, NEWS did get a little "elevated" in one game in particular. I have ABSOULTELY NO IDEA how he stayed around for the last couple of innings. As he sprinted from the 1st base coaches box to the plate, the rest of the coaches did "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to see who would take his spot. ;D
  19. and what is there an abundance of... 1. Critics 2. Whiners 3. Complainers Just trying to make light of a bad situation...but telling the truth in being critical...not involved in the whining...and very justified in the complaints that I had. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck...it's a duck.
  20. Name 3 Things Now Extinct in Beaumont! 1. Dinasours 2. Low gasoline prices 3. The US OPEN NATIONALS
  21. I can't say that these guys didn't tried to warn me personally when this thing was first announced. I'm sure that the "US OPEN NATIONALS" was originated with good intensions, but this tournament was a failure in almost every category. What was billed as a "Nationals" lacked organization and felt more like practice field inter-squad games until you finally got the chance to play. (If you found a field and an opponent) I think (and hope) that this will not tarnish Beaumont's softball reputation. Ronnie & Nara Cole's "Stars Over Texas" events have been superb for Beaumont as well as the Tigers12's "Lone Star Classic". Maybe the locals have been spoiled by how well run these two tournaments have been. The US OPEN was a very disappointing event to be a part of.
  22. Good luck to these area teams. OCG VS Cy-Fair Blaze in first round action at 2:45PM today. GT Shockers with a 1st round bye VS winner of Alvin No Fear and Texas Royals at 4:30PM today.
  23. Quoted by the man who created some NEW levels of cheating! #1 cheater is famous for the "10 minute delay" level. It takes about 10 minutes after the cheat before you start asking yourself..."Hey, what just happened here?" ??? (and then you also realize about half the balls are missing from your bucket!!)
  24. I hoped to hold this same question until the coaches meeting, but since you threw it out there we'll go with it and it's a valid question. The "HillGuy" posted an attachment that lists pool games from 8:00AM to 10:00PM BUT the coaches pool game schedule lists a round of games at 11:00PM AND 12:30AM!! It also states that bracket play will begin at 8:00AM on Friday. It would make it really tough on teams with late games on Thursday night (or actually Friday morning) if they were unfortunate enough to draw an early Friday game. Is that schedule correct?
