Last year was really a down year for Lovelady and they still won district.  They should be better this year.  If you haven't seen the Sherman kid run, and probably 99% of you haven't, you will see. That's all I have to say about that./Forrest Gump

Lovelady led 20-17 about half-way through the 4th quarter.  Big Sandy scored, went up 24-20.  Lovelady got the ball with about 6 plus minutes left.  Drove down to about the BS 35 and turned it over on downs.  BS drove down and scored the final TD with 28 seconds left.

Lovelady isn't nearly as good as they were last year; 1a teams that big and talented don't come around very often.  This year they have quite a few sophomores starting.  Three of their best players missed significant time to injuries during the pre-district schedule and they scheduled some tough teams.  Young players + injuries early + tough opponents = poor record.  They are at full strength now. My guess is that they might win 1 or 2 playoff games (maybe), but they won't go very far.  They should  be better next year.

No, Sherman is still in Crockett, and yes, the WS QB played the whole game. Lovelady has improved quite a bit since the first game of the year, and yes, they are very young.  I'm not originally from LL, but I live in the district and have watched them play for several years now.  They had massive talent losses from last year's squad (THAT was a state-caliber team), but they are well coached and they play hard.  Their pre-district schedule was a killer for a young team. If LL still had Sherman they might be undefeated.
