1.
PNG JV won against WB 11-3......10 runs scored in the 1st inning. Way to go INDIANS!!!
Nederland Sophs lost 9-3 to Vidor.  Vidor pitcher looked very good and went the entire way.
 2. I can't believe I am the first one to say this, but - Maybe your son (or whoever you are referencing in your post) isn't as good a player as you think he is?  Seriously, what possible benefit would any coach get out of not playing, what he believes to be, the best players? The other scenario: If a player is in LCM's program then he is probably a pretty good player.  Some are better than others and some play roles that the coach feels like he needs filled.  If there are what you feel are "better" players on the bench, then perhaps that is why.  If you have two pretty talented guys playing the same position, the odd man out may be better overall than some of the other starters at other positions, but he may fill a role that is needed (relief pitcher, pinch hitter, courtesy runner, utility sub, etc.).  That doesn't necessarily mean that his coach doesn't think he can't play, but he may feel he helps the team better in that role.  Evaluating talent and building rosters and lineups is subjective, even with stats and numbers.  There are politics everywhere, but there are also differences of opinion on talent everywhere.  But, to think that a coach that presumably wants to win is arbitrarily sitting talented kids that could help him while he twists his moustache and laughs menacingly is just ridiculous.  And with that I come back to my original thought - maybe your kid isn't as good as you think or perceive him to be.
 3. So is it ok for the Nederland fans to make allegations of recruiting like the PAM fans do on the basketball board or is it only recruiting if the kid moves to Nederland?
 4.
Neither one of those guys are ready to play SS on this level. They need to have Mullens at 2nd and Saatzer at SS.
Which one of those is your kid, dad?
 5. Im thinking we can win with 50 points....and I'm thinking in 2014 we will be just fine. Nederland should work on their defense...You know you cant win if you cant stop your opponent from scoring 50...or maybe they should work on offense. Freshmen Purple 52 Nederland A 21 I debated making an insulting and pointed post about the terrible depths to which the Indian football program must have gone to this year to have you posting scores and highlights from a freshman game from last season, but then decided that you already went there and that I didn't need to.  Most programs that are doing well now don't generally tout sub-varsity programs as their source of pride (see PNG 2013 and Vidor circa 2002).
 6. San Augustine?  Maybe I'm wrong, but I would think if that kid was going to move it would be somewhere with more baseball cache than football.
 7. HJ has a ton of talent that would help the football program - they are called basketball players.
 8.
Is there any chance HJ will hire from within ?
Clint Hartsfield? Still somewhat inexperienced as a head coach, but he did reach a state championship game and kids have always played hard for him. If they don't want to do that they should look for one of the perennial playoff-contending flag or pee wee coaches to continue their success at the high school level.
 9.
Just explaining how the open gym program works. How is that being bitter? It's a brilliant way to attract better athletes don't you think? At least coach knows this. Why else would we open the gym to anyone other than Nederland tax payers? Boy, if this gets you upset just wait til tomorrow. I just about have my list narrowed for the thread question --What's up with Nederland? I am going to explain things that not even coach understands. Stay tuned
Thank God we have you Husker to provide your prescient insights!  Someone alert Coach English that he needs to get on here and find out what may be wrong with his program according to some moron on an Internet message board.  If he heeds Huskers advice he can probably preserve the integrity of the program for years to come!
 10. The fact that this thread is here and has gone on this long is a testament to the job Coach English has done both in Vidor and Nederland.
 11. At least they won't finish last in the NL Central again this year...
 12.
This is huge for us HJ baseball folks... Solid pitcher, solid infielder, solid hitter... Glad he's home.
Will he be eligible?  Move for athletic purposes?
 13.

Hopefully some of the hitting issues referenced above will be improved with the return of Duplant and possibly Weisbrod.  Plus Barrow, Wood, Raines and others will be back with another year of experience under their belts.  As scapegoat said, it is cyclical.  And you never know when an underclassman that wasn't really counted on going into the season is going to come up and have a big year.  There is definitely enough talent in the program that Nederland will be fine this year and at least the next couple.
Never know if chance isn't given. Pitching won't be issue for this season....many arms to throw in there if anyone struggling on mound. Hitting IMO (and everyone's minds) is the big question.  Put everyone you can in there who is hitting and has solid swing.  DH 'em if defense play of another player is "overwhelmingly good".  Barrow, Duplant, Feltman, Stampley, Carson, Sampere, like Brandon Self's bat (coming up this season). Shaw's speed, i'd do bunt drills all day with him. IF Weisbord comes back (???).  Bret, Bordelon and Broussard (who is coming off injury) are standouts for underclassmen.  All 3 have live, LH bats.  I'd buy some of those anywhere.  Those 3 IMO I would pull up for tournament play for experience.  All these kids are team players and bashing a kid's ability is someone who has ulterior motive IMO. This is just to mention a few players....not offending anyone not mentioned above.  Ned is loaded and ready, just need "it" in the clutch.  I know there is someone out there to count on,just gotta find it.
I hope you don't think I was bashing anyone in that post.  I think they will be fine with the experienced seniors and some of the talented younger kids coming up this season.

 15. Prayers definitely go out for the victim and her family, but I can believe that you titled your post prayers for the player.

He's at home chest thumping in the mirror intimidating himself.
Your fat mama knows who I am son.
You're bragging about your conquests of fat mamas?  You must be dumber than your earlier posts indicate.
 19.
Nederland fans are horrible too. Just to let you know..
Thanks for the heads up.  We will all discuss that among ourselves in the stands at our game next week.
 20.

Are you sure this guy is from Dawson he is extremely vague about his comments maybe he is from another sore loser team.
Don't worry about where I'm from son.. Just worry about losing this week.
As opposed to losing last night.  Son.
 21. A potential match-up of Dawson and Summer's Eve would be an epic battle of arrogance, over-ratedness and and delusional fans - and it won't happen this year.
 22.
Y'all were lucky to play on the same field as Dawson.
I think you should go do some physically-impossible things to yourself.
 23.
why cant it be at reliant???
With the crowd Nederland brought and revenue Reliant made tonight, I would think they would be begging to have us back.  Is Reliant not available or did we lose coin flips?
 24. I guess the loudmouth Summer's (Eve) Creek fans on here can dish it out, but aren't willing to come on here and say they were wrong.
 25. Dawson was a very undisciplined team.  Finger wagging and preening all night. He can think what he wants, but the more disciplined team definitely won.
