  2. Haha Coop beat ya by 2 minutes. I don't really have a big problem with this trade. It seems like a lot to give up but in reality Troy Patton is over valued by Astros fans. I'm not saying he is bad, because he is the best pitching prospect the Astros have, but he is not a top tier prospect in MLB. The Astros farm system is so depleted that they had to give up 5 players (although the Chron says it may only be 4 and that Sarfate isn't confirmed) to get Tejada. The thing about that is that the prospects the Astros gave up were some of the top 10 in their organization. However, those same guys wouldn't be top 15 or 20 in some other systems. So in essence all they really gave up were 5 mediocre to decent players.
  3. Word is the Astros have a press conference scheduled for 12:30 to announce the acquisition of Tejada for Scott Castanza , Sarfate , Albers and Patton
  4. This will never happen... Because it makes too much sense. The UIL doesn't work that way. They never come up with an alignment that doesn't elicit a WTF?? reaction from people. Therefore, such a decent alignment would never fly with the committee.
  5. I don;t have a score but I was told Chapel Hill beat Guyer in the final pool game. Heard that it was a real close game and guyer played them well, but struggle with their shot in the 4th and couldn't hold on
  6. Here is the schedule: Pool A: Pool B: H-J East Chambers Legacy Chapel Hill Lumberton Denton Guyer Normangee WO-S Thursday: 8:30 Legacy vs. Lumberton 10:00 WO-S vs. Denton Guyer 11:30 EC vs. Chapel Hill 1:00 Lumberton vs. H-J 2:30 Normangee vs. Legacy 4:00 Denton Guyer vs. EC 5:30 Chapel Hill vs. WO-S 7:00 H-J vs. Normangee Friday: 8:00 WO-S vs. EC 10:30 Lumberton vs. Normangee 11:00 H-J vs. Legacy 12:30 Denton Guyer vs. Chapel Hill
  7. Although hard to see you can actually catch the penalty. It happens on the 14 yard line at about -1:15 on the video timer (about 4 seconds in). The guy is in fact "Giving him the Business" so it was a good call.
  8. How long do you think that college ref has been waiting to use that? You could tell he was amused when he said it and surely it had to be planned.
  9. Here is the schedule I received: Pool A: Pool B: H-J East Chambers Legacy Chapel Hill Lumberton Denton Guyer Normangee WO-S Thursday: 8:30 Legacy vs. Lumberton 10:00 WO-S vs. Denton Guyer 11:30 EC vs. Chapel Hill 1:00 Lumberton vs. H-J 2:30 Normangee vs. Legacy 4:00 Denton Guyer vs. EC 5:30 Chapel Hill vs. WO-S 7:00 H-J vs. Normangee Friday: 8:00 WO-S vs. EC 10:30 Lumberton vs. Normangee 11:00 H-J vs. Legacy 12:30 Denton Guyer vs. Chapel Hill
  10. Here is the original from 1986 [Hidden Content]
  11. I bolded something you may have missed. Also he didn't say We should be only supporting Kountze and EC. I believe his intentions were that we should be supporting all the local SETX teams, which would include Warren (which is who I think your team is).
  12. On paper these two guys are totally equal. I think the choice is going to come down to which one can make the adjustment to the newly approved protective headgear for base coaches. Whoever can adjust to the added head weight and still be able to perform at a peak level will be the champion. Personally I have to go with Humplik. He has to have some pretty strong neck muscles to carry around that watermelon he has attached to his neck. A little extra weight won't make that much difference to him.
  13. There once was a dude named Cletus In poker he never could beat us As he spoke out his gourd from the bed of the Ford In soccer no one can defeat us!
  14. Silsbee won but I am not positive of the score. It was not real close though. H-J seems to be down to about 15-20 kids.
  15. The only thing my "Couch" motivates me to do is, take a nap.
  16. Thanks, my productivity just went to 0.
  17. Their 7th grade lost to HJ 14-0 and 8th grade beat HJ 40-0 (I think that was the final)
  18. They are at Lumberton tomorrow. Then they have Vidor at home; go to Dayton; then go to PNG. They finish with a game against Ozen but the game will be played at Cardinal stadium. They are considered the home team in that contest.
  19. I hope they make the press box a little bigger so when KLVI comes to town they will have a place to sit and not have to kick the visiting coaches out of their box.
  20. It was a Lufkin article so I wouldn't expect them to put anything about H-J in it. As far as the scrimmage goes. H-J seemed to use it to find out what they had to work with. Burrell didn't touch the ball much, and they played a lot of guys to see who could/would perform. Diboll looked pretty good, and I can see them potentially going a couple of rounds in the playoffs. I don't think H-J is bad, but they are young. They'll have a lot of juniors and a few sophomores playing in key places this season. I don't expect them to surprise any of the top 4 in district, but they should be able to play with everyone else.
  21. I'll be sure to pass it on to him tomorrow.
