Funny Ithought that select teams couldn't enter a team... I see 2 that have almost a full roster from what they played in the spring.

We ended up in gold. Did well in Pool play then got beat by a team that probably was elite but sandbagged thru pool play. Won the first bracket game and got hammered by the rains after that.

9u's took home second place but did not get to play for the championship due to rain. Good job boys and congrats on a great season.

[/quote] If that is the case then it pretty much leaves it to NY. None of the other suitors have the space or assets to get both (maybe Chicago). I don't think LeBron goes to NY, I think he'll be in Cleveland or Chicago. The initial report by Chad Ford saying he had narrowed it to 5 teams was found to have actually come from Toronto. Bosh and his agent said it was 11 teams and that Houston and OKC should have also been on the list.

Been in a problem situation with this before. At a HS softball tournament several years ago, the team I was coaching was leading another team 4-3. We were the visitors but I was keeping the book, for us. The other team had a freshman keeping their book. The kid said it was 3-3 because they had missed a run we had scored. Umpire got with both of us, I showed them what I had and how I had it. The freshman wasn't real sure what she was doing but showed them how she had 3-3. Even though it was pretty obvious I was probably right, the ump went with them because they kept protesting that they were correct and they were the home team. We ended up losing 4-3 in tie breaker. After the game an assistant coach came to us and apologize and also confirm we were right and that the kid didn't know what they were doing, but the HC was trying to get his first win. We never played them again.

Good job Guys. 9u's also played well this weekend. They played up in the 10 tourney and secured the 1 seed going into Sunday. They lost a tough one yesterday to finish 5th I believe.

Not sur ebut I think it was Rain 1 Dayton/HJ 0. Heard from a varsity parent it was canceled.

I know some of the kids on the Roughriders and they can play. I was a little nervous with our team playing up, but we actually held our own. We have a couple of weeks off before we get back into it, but I am looking forward to the competition.

[/quote] I pondered this earlier too. i think what Dove actually means is that he has never been directly involved with a losing program. Obviously that is clearly different than being associated with one. If that were the case I could honestly say I have never been associated with a losing program for my entire life. If they were losers no matter my involvement with them, I would not associate myself with them, therefore keeping my streak of not being associated with losers. :p

Haha I saw this on the Enterprise sight and thought it was another coach gone crazy story. I read the article and it was very interesting. I would imagine the class is pretty interesting too, not to mention fun on taste test days.

I don't think we will regret jeffries too much. His contract is only 6 mil for one more year. NY pretty much had to get rid of him though to afford 2 max contracts this summer. He expires in 2011 and could be a trade piece for an upgrade at next years deadline. I also see them using one of the picks in a package with one of the non shooting wings to get a little cap relief this summer so they can look at re-signing Scola/Lowry and being able to use the MLE.

Actual trade looks to be: Houston Gets: Kevin Martin Jared Jeffries Jordan Hill 2001 1st rd pick swap option 2012 1st rd pick Sacto gets: Carl Landry Joey Dorsey Larry Hughes NY gets: Mcgrady Sergio Rodriguez Still don't know what conditions are on the picks but IMO this will be a good trade for the Rockets. It may not show much the rest of this season, but some people will be surprised at how well Martin fits with Yao.

There aren't a lot of 9u teams in the area. Most of the ones around here had tryouts in the fall and I would guess the majority already have a full roster. There is turnover but the Spring season hasn't started yet, and most of the turnover takes place right after fall season ends or during the Spring season. You can always keep an eye on teh SETX Academy page. They usually have tryout info for all levels.
