Rumor has it that the 2 players on suspension are back on campus and were working out with the team at practice yesterday. Do not know if they will be allowed to play against Livingston or not. I know rumors are Nasty so has anyone else heard anything on this??

We are there for the players, not for ourselves. As a former player, believe me, it makes a difference when your fans are loud. Our cheerleaders don't know when to cheer. There are a few of us in the stands that start the DEFENSE chant on third or fourth down and the cheerleaders join in after we start it. Also, they seem to always want to do cheers while we are on offense. Especially the two bits-four bits. That's the worse time for us to cheer. Not their faults, I don't expect them to know everything about football.  But that's why the few of us in the stands start getting loud at certain points of the game... We are there for the football team. Not to watch halftime or anything else.. I'm sure some will take that the wrong way but I'm not going to explain what I mean. If you don't get the point then that's your issue. Way off topic so let me get it back on track. Our receivers are going to need to step up big this week. I would like to see Kimler more invovled. I have a Westernaire who bust her rear end everyday getting ready for the half time show. I would bet she knows more about whats going on during the game than half the stands. So DONT DISS THE HALF TIME. Take out all the kids and their supporters there to support the dogs that perform half time out of the stadium and you dont have the stands close to full. Yes I do agree I played at PNG and the crowd does get the team fired up but, silence the band, drill team, twirlers, cheer leaders, and flags and see how quiet the stands will be.

[/quote]Dog27 I know your feelings I scream my dang head off and ppl look at me like I'm crazy!!!. I gave up my season tickets because of that so now i sent in Geberam Admission and raise all the hell I want and if someone dont like my attitude I tell them to go sit somewhere else. I dont have a son on the field but you cant tell that...I have a Westernaire who screams just as loud and proud as I do.

Alot of awesome post on this MCM night.  This is more than just a football game it is a tradition that all involved in will talk about for many years to come. I played this game as a Indian and now I watch as a Bulldog. I now wear black and gold but, if you cut me I will still bleed a little purple. I will say my prayer like I do before every game for the protection and care for every single person at the game and for the protection of all our military serving our country. I will watch in awe as the [font=arial]NATIONAL CHAMPION WESTERNAIRES[/font] perform at half time. I will stand up and applaud as the Indian band, Indianetts, twirlers, flags, and Indian spirit move across the field at half time. So lets all remember to support all these kids tonight.

LET US NOT FORGET THE DOGS HAVE MORE THAN 2 PLAYERS AND THE REPLACEMENTS HAVE STEPPED UP AND FILLED THEIR SHOES. THIS IS NO DIFFERENT THAN A SEASON ENDING INJURY. SURE THE PLAYERS WILL BE MISSED BUT WE CAN NOT DISCREDIT THE WHOLE TEAM BECAUSE OF THEIR MISTAKE. [/quote]Dawgnuts i totally agree Woods was in control with out any jitters that I could see. His arm is stronger than Raines and he does see the field alot better. I am like you Raines does deserve the start but coaching needs to look at running Woods alot more. Last year on JV Woods and Barrows were a lethal combination and it would seem they would realize this. But then again seems like Nederland coaches would have realized its hard for a rt footed kicker to be on the rt side hash mark also.

Basebow great comeback and your right Bulldog staff is always reading and commenting here. Trevin would be my go to QB instead of Carson for the simple fact of playing time. I have watched the JV QB all season also and he is another good choice due to playing time and the kid is a junior that can find his recievers and he has a strong arm. Barrows should know this cause he threw to his son all year long. Basebow congrads on becoming a FROG

What a awesome and talented young man. I have watched him play both sports and his dedication to his team is greatly appreciated from this Bulldog.

Diva16 your right my daughter is  Westie also and told me the same thing but, that is football there will always be trash talk no matter what teams are playing. As for everyone complaining about our loud music what about that dang TRAIN HORN knocking my ear drums out. As for the players coming on the field that could have been prevented but, it is over and I'm sure it will happen again somewhere and we will have another 5 page thread on it also. AS for the supposed sore looser Lumberton fans i dont believe that, I do believe they were sorry for the loose just like Nederland fans would have been. So lets not hate on anyone who performs on Friday nights cause you never know if someone is bashing your kid.

I do know that if we would have gotten caught in the early 80's doing the things we did to Nederland we would have never gotten to play any sports again... If you have noticed in Nederland all the yard signs are being brought inside till after the game.

KTM2010 thank you for starting this thread. I have posted something close to this on another thread. Jerry Mallory was and still is a icon for Nederland sports. I am grounded in the belief that you dont leave the stadium till the final second ticks off the clock and you go down to the track and just tell the players that walk by they played a good game. I have had the pleasure of having 2 daughters in the Westernaires and sure I am there to watch them perform but, I'm there also to support our players. If all of Nederland fans regardless of what organization they are there to support would just stay seated a little longer cause, if they knew how it made the players feel to turn around and look at people leaving before the game was over.

Coaching for Nederland needs to improve if Nederland has any chances for competing in the district. I was very close to the bench at Vidor along with several parents and their reactions were not very favorable for the coaching staff. I watched as both offense and defense came off the field several times feeling defeated and not one coach went to the bench to try and lift these young mens spirits or give them any encouragement. Just my opinion but a game has 4 quarters not 3 1/2 or 3 3/4 quarters. These young men play until the final second ticks off the clock. I hate to see the stands starting to empty before the game is over and all the negative comments being made. How do you think the players feel to turn around and see their supposed fans leaving the game early because they are being defeated. Staying another few minutes and supporting their team regardless of winning or loosing is what a fan is suppose to do. I have  seen the play of the year happen for a player in the final minute of the game. Another thing we all applaud and support the half time show and all the kids involved but when half time is over most of "their" fans leave cause their shirts say it's all about the half time. This is just my opinion but, stick around its more fun than going to get something to eat. :D

Nederland coaches blew the Vidor game Big. I can not understand what Barrows is thinking on his play calling on offense. Come on FAKE PUNT, and running the ball when your 3rd and 20. You are not the only one thinking this because I was sitting with several of the players parents and they were not very happy at all.

I have to bite my tongue and not swear at this one. The young mans family is grieving over the loss of their loved one and all they want to write about is how his life may have ended. Give his family a break and write about the young mans life and his accomplishments. Show what a steward he was on and off a football field. Interview his classmates and team mates. Wait until the medical examiner has completed his FINAL REPORT before you publish anymore about this young mans death.

Old school coaches would have told the disgruntled players to settle this issue amongst them selves behind the gym after practice and come back to practice once it was all settled.  Old school reporters and news papers would not have thrown Nederland under the bus and printed this issue either. Todays coaches have to be very careful on how they handle their team issues or they face going in front of the school board for their actions. I thought football was a team sport not a individual sport. So with that said Nederlands coaches will sort out who is in and who is out and show up and play football.

I have posted this on another forum but, I do hope all local teams will have a moment of silence and have have a trumpet player play TAPS before their flags are raised and I hope that all stadiums fly their flags at half mast.

I gave her the money this morning to buy shirts and we will proudly wear this shirt in Vidor Friday night.
