  1. I actually agree with you on this one. That is why I think RJ should be careful when he truly commits to a school officially. I know it is verbal but with a true freshman at the helm at Texas right now, he will have trouble stepping in right off. The same could be said about the true freshman Mond at Aggieland, although the book is still out on him. Being an Aggie fan, I would prefer him choose the Aggies.
  2. Can't compare because I haven't seen Elia play. I have seen RJ and I know him and his work ethic. The kid is extremely focused. I don't think there is a day that goes by he is not working out and improving. He makes some very good decisions on the field. He has nice tight spiral, which has improved tremendously from last year. He has proven he can be a very good pocket QB and if he has to run, well he has that too. His leadership qualities are second to none. He will be at the helm of any college he goes to and will probably be one of the leaders in the NCAA at some point.
  3. Yeah, Yeah....whining about the penalties...just want to know overall stats....
  4. He really had a great game. Looked good under pressure. He made some good decisions and good passes. I think he has a good opportunity the rest of the year to prove himself.
  5. Shug, Riggs, Stansbury, Hughes is a great combo....even though Shug had to run a lot I think our O-line did a good job. We have to wrap up, our d hits in the back field but don't finish. That has to happen to go deep in play offs. D looked better in the second half, but I think Hines lost a step because he was tired. Memorial QB did a hell of a job. He threw some on point passes. I was impressed with him
  6. Penalties are legit, we still can't tackle...best defense for us is our offence
  7. We always had to play hard nose defense here because of our size and speed, it hasn't been that way for years. I know who you are talking about and he needs to step up. Frustrating!
  8. Basics....basics....wrap up, is it that difficult? Same old same old....Play a team that has a defense, you can't just outscore them....Titans came to play...
  9. Well we did get to see Lejeune hit just last year, so yeah we've seen hits as good if not better...
  10. Also, Vincent probably should have been out of the game with an obvious targeting not called. That would have changed the momentum IMO....
  11. Everytime our D-backs would leave a guy wide open he'd say "Look at this right here....what are they thinking" in all fairness I was saying the same thing
  12. Sat by your dad Saturday, he was cracking me up with his play by play...
  13. I do believe both teams will come to play. We MUST wrap up and tackle. If not, it will be a long night. Curious to see if we will be able to move the ball running. Haven't seen the PAM D but they were quick last year so i expect they will be again this year. I have a feeling our H backs will get more than usual passes in this game which is ok because they are both big and can catch and run.
  14. Our first test. We have to wrap up, period. We have faced some good athletes with Baytown studs, #17 from Livingston, and #4 tonight. Hines will tear us up if we don't wrap up. We have great penetration into the back field and hit the runners, but they squirt loose. We have so many weapons on offense, we just need to keep blocking. Hughes has stepped up in that receiver position letting some pressure off Riggs. Should be interesting...
  15. Well I am sure the coaches are looking at more than Riggs. Hughes, and Stansbury are more than enough to take up the slack if Riggs is focused on. You did not have a healthy Hughes playing you last year. If he is 100%, he is every bit as good as Riggs. Also, Riggs has more than one play, but hey believe what you want. I know Titans front guys are tough but Deslatte may surprise ya'll. Also, Hebert and Lane will sneak some yardage out of the back field with some passes in the flat. Big boys will barrel over you. I would agree that Hines will be trouble, he is that good. But our coaches should be ready to mitigate his threat. I'll be the first to say that our D needs some work on wrapping up, so Hines is a legit threat to us. We are very good at penetration, but a squirrelly back can hurt us as shown by Sterling and Livingston's Mitchell... Nederland has definitely surprised me this year, I am glad because they have a great tradition and Monty is a good coach. Hope they win out, except that one game , of course.
  16. Don't forget the sophomore phenom at running back. That kid is hard to bring down. He should take some pressure of RJ.
  17. Hope so, they are some big ole guys.....
  18. RJ is always gonna be a key, but this year we have Deslotte, Hughes, Riggs, Stansbury in key positions. They are all very good. Riggs and Hughes, included in the fastest in the district, will get behind defenses a lot. We faced some very good scat backs last week so that should help us, but we have to wrap up. I think we will be good though. I was happy to see corner backs up on the line getting physical. Our o-line did fairly well for a young group.
  19. Pretty much agree. The Ranger QB and Running Back remind of the Crosby Twins. Once they make their cut they are gone. So dang quick and won't go down. We have so may weapons on offense, don't where to start. If everyone stays healthy, fingers crossed, RJ should not have to carry the load. Although his stats tonight are very typical. Surprised by the Sophomores starting. I think we had at least 4 in the game starting.
  20. Have to agree here....I know we lost some good players on D but there others that are here still. With Bost, Le Bouef, Hammond, Sergio all returning we will be strong in the middle. LeJeune is a tough loss, but Bost is a pretty dang good line backer as well as LeBouef. There are some very good young players too. Offense, well, RJ enough said. But then you have Hughes, Riggs, Stansbury. Arguably the best receiving group in the district. Our O-line is actually bigger than before, young, but bigger. Too early to tell, but we shall see.. WE HAVE TO STAY HEALTHY THIS YEAR!!
