I'm a big Roschon fan. but there are several other weapons we have on offense. Many will be surprised by Preston Hughes and Preston Rigs, both juniors with tons of speed. I think Hughes had 150+ yardage. Then, of course, there is always McZeal. Defense did good but if we start to arm tackle like we did later in the game, Memorial and Central will eat us up. We penetrated the back field several times and thought we had the guy without wrapping up only to have him slip out and gain big yardage. Silsbee didn't really test our outside on the pass, so that's still a question. With that said I think we have a good chance being at the top of the district if we improve in certain areas. Central is good. They had a real good JV last year and that talent has moved up. I think it will be Memorial, PNG, Central in no particular order. Lumberton could be salty this year. Nederland is weak in the talent area. I've been following that age group since 8th grade and they just don't have the depth. But Neumann has done well with less talent before so you can't count them out. I know nothing on Baytown Lee or the rest so, of course, we'll get a better picture as we move through non-district.

I think that team had the Lively brothers....

Don't forget the '99 State playoff that almost never was because of Silsbee.....I think that was in TJ Stadium.....

Winters is the guy. He's a pretty good threat. Are the Aggies offering him?

If the Silsbee O-line improves and they run Adonis, not sure on the name, more they will improve. He works for yardage. With him and #4 in the back field would help in not just one RB to que on. Also, open up the pass play with some short routes.

Doesn't LCM have a good running back that is a junior. Could give WOS some trouble. But, WOS should have this one. I see them undefeated all the way.

SRV was a guitar god in my book. Legend.....

No more Beaumont Chapter, right?

I agree it is a good strategy, but our kicker has a leg. The wind was not that big of a factor last night and I know he can put it in the end zone probably every time. I'd rather have a team start from the 20 instead of the 40. Now if he can't get to the end zone then yea, maybe pooch it when you have the threats Silsbee have...BF doesn't want to get beat on special teams, and I respect that. Play the odds. But sometimes special teams can help you...just my two cents....(speaking of mytwocents, does he come on here anymore?)

Gotta agree on the rushing yards, although those Silsbee runners are dang good. PNG had several hits in the backfield and didn't wrap up allowing Silsbee be to click off some good yardage. Got to clean that up. Kicking game was off on the placing of the ball from the center. Riggs can kick it a mile, which leads me to not understanding the pooch kick. I understand the deep threat, but he can kick into the end zone consistently. So I dunno....

The Silsbee O-line didn't do bad, the Indian defensive middle is tough. I said it before, it will be hard to run up the middle on us. As the game progressed they got lax and arm tackled, and with runners like Silsbee, if you do that you will have trouble. I was surprised Silsbee didn't test our corners more. They have us beat in height there for sure. Good to see Bost run some plays in. He is an all around athlete. Preston Riggs stepped into Sullivan's shoes last night and made some great catches.

BF has never been a two way starter kind of guy, although this year it looks like he may change that. At least for a couple players. Shouldn't be like Silsbee, though. Thought they would more than 2 or 3...BTW, grammar is knowing your sh%t or knowing you're sh%t.....

How many does Silsbee have?
-
I think we will do well in the middle on defense. Where we will be tested is on the outside. If we do not shore up that outside, Silsbee could run for a long time. Offense wise, it will be nice to finally let Roschon run and see if he can do what he does well, make people miss. If McZeal comes out fired up, he'll be unstoppable. I hope he does. We do have some tremendous speed in the backfield this year, the key is getting past the line of scrimmage. That means our line, which is smaller this year is gonna have to drive off the ball. After the first two scrimmages my confidence has grown in them. Please no dropsies NDN's, that has plagued us in the start..... Good luck to all....Scalp'em NDN's.....

Would a Sophomore have been on that team? Do you guys have a Freshman team? Anyway, they were a good combo...
-
I would guess he is a Junior too..
-
PN-G, that had a good running back too.
-
Who is Silsbee's QB. I remember my son's grade playing them as Freshman, he's a Junior now, and that kid was quick..
-
Been watching K.J. since he was knee high. That kid is quick. Dang good player. Defense will be better than previous years for PN-G. Our Weak point will be the outside and with a quick team like WO-S that can kill us. I hope in regular season those corners are drawn up closer to the line and not 15 yards out. Roschon will be able to run more in regular season and should open up some stuff. Hughes is super fast and with Roschon as a running threat Hughes may get overlooked by the defense. Kenell at defensive end is an interesting move, but watching him manhandle players was intriguing. He's a big strong kid and fast. I think our o-line did fairly well with WO-S big guys in the middle. I was worried about that. Plus we had some starters out there. All in all having a team like WO-S scrimmage us will do nothing but good. Good luck to WO-S but I don't think you guys will need it, except maybe to stay healthy.
