The flag was only screened on one side and its the side that faced the home at the time it was bought. Thus if it would have been used this year, it only have been seen by the visitors. Plus, it is really too big for a high school kid to run. It is so heavy that it bends the pole its on and drags the ground. We need new ones!!! We have talked about getting 3 smaller flags that have DHS on them, but it would take several weeks to get them. Plus, they are about $200 a piece. If anyone knows of anyone who would be willing to buy the flags for the school it would be great. Oh, and this is just my opinion... I don't represent anything official so don't run back to the school and tell them that someone on the internet says we need new flags. If you can find some giant kid with speed and strength that's not on the football team to run it, I'm sure they would let them. I think you would have to get a pole for it though, it broke.

Nottingham, WWJH, & DHS are releasing @ 1. Colbert, SFA, Richter, & Kimmie Brown are releasing @ 2.

I have pondered this myself. I definitely think this group of boys are better at playing as a team. I taught several of the boys on both the 2002 squad and this one. The attitude seems more team oriented rather than individual. The 2002 squad seemed to center around individuals, not that they weren't great players on that team in their own right. I also knew several of the boys on the 1998 squad because they played with my brother and I am certain that this squad is more of a "team" than they were. That squad also seemed to be centered around only individuals and in particular, Pearson, not that they weren't great athletes. You just can't advance if you only have one or two playmakers. This year's squad has multiple players who step up and can score at any given time as well as make the plays on defense. I do not think anyone should doubt their ability because of their record. When any team loses a leader, whether on offense or defense, the team has to make adjustments and this takes time.

It's not trash talk about Crosby. It's the truth. The J.V. quarterback, Zach Crowder, went in at the end of the 3rd quarter and played the entire 4th quarter.

Greg is a great young man both on and off the field. He is one of the nicest people I have had the privilege of teaching and he's a good student as well as a talented athlete. Dayton can thank Katrina for him, too.

I was there. It was hot. I am sunburned. Johnson and Garrett are both seniors & are both huge! I'm glad Longview won because it would have been a long ride home had they not.

We have had reserved seats since the 70's with the old wooden stadium. The "reserved" seats were inside a chain link fence! LOL! We have come along way in 13 years! The "old"/aluminum home side was dedicated my senior year.

Ivory Durio played for UTEP.

It was an off night for AJ. He made up for it the next week with 3 TD catches against Nederland. This duo is only going to improve. They are both Sophomores.

We haven't played Liberty since I was in Junior High. I wish we would renew that rivalry!

I know Cody Green. Not only is he a great athlete, but he is also an intelligent guy.

Nederland Fans- Get to the stadium EARLY or you won't have a place to sit! The visitors stands are quite small and the band and drill team will end up taking up almost half of it. Have a safe drive. Hwy. 90 is not the most fun drive at times. Take the other dayton poster's advice and park at the Junior High on Hwy. 146. Parking is scarce otherwise.

That's why I buy stuff before the game starts and take it with me to the home side. Not only are the turkey legs good, so is the sausage on a bun.
