Ya know guys..I just cant ever remember saying that Liberty could beat Dayton in football....Find the post where I said that and I'll eat crow. Anyways, I ran the 800 and the mile in high school. But I'm pretty sure I'm just going to run the 8 here at Tarleton, mainly because I cant run a 4:30 mile. I think Liberty has had some great coaches. I believe the ones I played for were great coaches.

Hey, I'm all for Liberty playing anyone...mainly since I dont have to be involved. haha We played WO-S a couple years ago in the first round and a senior on our team let me tack his spot on a kickoff return. lol worst mistake this 160 pounds ever made. I got nailed..twice, on a WO-S kickoff return for a touchdown. (Our only kickoff of the game) Anywho, I think Liberty can compete in everything except football. Anything else it would be close competition. It might go down like this. Football-Dayton Volleyball-Liberty Cross Country-Liberty Basketballboys-...too close to call Basketballgirls-Dayton Baseball-Liberty Softball-Dayton and last but not least SOCCER-LIBERTYYYY!!!!! WHOOP WHOOP

I graduated this year. May 09. obviously like my screen name indicates. I was a three way letterman(Football, track, and cross country) I personally have never lost ANYTHING to ANYONE from Dayton. liltex are you one of these old men trying to relive glory days? Cuz if so thats cool. Maybe ill be there one day. But maybe your just getting too old for a forum. This would explain why you cant stay on topic....

All the above matters none. But if it did it would sound too me that your calling your family abuncha racists? It doesnt matter if your daddy daddys great grandpa worked for Mobil Oil, Texas Oil, or the Food Mart. Im saying that it really wasnt until recently that Dayton has gotten all this state title hype. Football is football. If Liberty had the demographics that Dayton does the story would be different. I could care less about the Liberty-Dayton rivalry. I'm more in favor of the good ole Liberty-Barbers Hill rivalry. Now that was a good clean rivalry.

What are you talking about? WOS has zero comparison with Liberty besides enrollement numbers(but then again so does almost every 3A school in texas). And as far as Dayton and Liberty history goes nobody needs a lesson. Since 1963 Liberty has won 272 games. Dayton has won under 200. Dayton used to be West Liberty. If your trying to say that Liberty is a bunch of racist I believe you owe all of us across the river an apoligy. Liberty currently has a black basketball coach. Liberty has had the pleasure of having Coach Jackson serve on the football, track, and basketball teams in years past but is no longer with us. He wasnt white. And to say that somehow Dayton is just a better place to be is a matter of opinion. But, I can tell you that Liberty has beaten Dayton in Baseball pretty soundly over the past few years. (by the way, Dayton and Liberty are not comparible in numbers just in case someone didnt know) And just for grins, I cant even remember how many academic meets I've been to where either we knocked Dayton's socks off or they just failed to field a squad for many events. And since when does LibertyISD get to decide whom they let attend? Our socialized education system takes care of those decisions for us.

This is funny. Im going to agree with playa on this one. But I will say this. Does it matter? I mean playa is right. Nobody gets fired there. I think ppl just leave there? Look, its SETX, every school wants to be good at football. Tarkington is pretty much good at everything but football. This might be a problem for most coaches. I know, at least at my highschool, everyone coaches football. Then the other sports second. I feel like coaches over there just get tired of losing football games. They need to transfer imphasis off of football and invest in things theyre good at. Ya know, everything else. Baseball, softball, volleyball, TRACK. lol of course Coach Fontenot got it. Anyways, Coach Sadler is a great coach. I never met anyone at LHS that didnt have respect for him. (I knew alot of quitters that didnt like him too much) but you can bet those kids still had respect for him. He was also a good teacher. He'll be missed on and off the field. Anyone that says otherwise about Coach doesnt know what theyre talking about.

You do realize your arguing with a Political Science major that can go at it all day right? (and I run CC at Tarleton State so I have the stamina haha) And ETBU and I have had our back and forth as well so its about time we agree that you need a hug. ;D I say this. Liberty has heart. Always has as long as I was in school. They fight. Even if they are just out matched. Thats why I think its impossible to pick a score. Besides, picking a score in anything except track and golf is stupid. You just cant be accurate. I remember my 8th grade year when Liberty QB Shane Smart led a 4th quarter comeback in BC and one the game on a last second touchdown pass that, as I remember was a 60yarder. I remember the hard fought battle my junior year in the rain. BC couldnt hold on to the ball and we won, short of a BC second half comeback. I remember the back and forth of last years game here at our place. Its too hard to pick scores in this rivalry.

Now your pressing my buttons. We had BC on the ropes last year in our first year with a new coaching staff, new offensive/defensive playbook, scored 32 points in the first half against Splendora, lost our senior QB halfway thru the season and replaced him with a starting defensive back that had to play the whole game, changed our offensive halfway thru district, then lost one of our starting linebackers. We were one of the only teams to hang with Cleveland for a half(with our second string QB). We had alot of games last year were people on here predicted we would get killed. We had one of the best coaching staffs in SETX preparing us for each friday. I have no doubt in my mind that we worked our butts off and played with all we had with the talent and effort we had. Unless TNT or anybody else was on the field I think this is where this conversation ends.

Yall just pick scores 20-12 18-8 blah blah blah.\\\ And I'll have all of you know that Bride City ppl are the only ones I've ever seen pick scores against liberty..maybe its just confidence. Either way I believe TNT may be right. I havent seen Liberty practice or anything(not in town anymore) but I think Coach Deel and staff bring a little something different to the sidelines than in past years. Its like they always have something up their sleeve....

I think its funny how people can just pick a score out of thin air... What if Liberty's D shuts BC down the whole game? What if somehow BC cant stop the run? Its impossible to pick the score... I also think BC will have a hard time preping for Liberty. Its a totally different team that last season.

I think Liberty's defense will have to show up. It seems, through district anyways, that the panthers were beating teams soundly but still letting runs score....Theyre going to have to play really tight ball to keep orangefield off the board.
