ltown is still mad that Coach McCarter told him that Brandon is better than anyone that has ever played in Lumberton. Ltown, you don't have to like Letsinger, but some of your comments in the last few posts are uncalled for. He is more than an average 1A player. There are very few teams that he would not be a go to guy for in this area. Maybe not the best on the team, but one that would be counted on in the clutch. But then again, it is just my opinion.

I agree with you yepyep, but Caleb is a good ballplayer. Not POY IMO, but a good player.

Tramain....great year. I think CJ Busby deserves some talk too, but Thomas is the best.

Exactly Bucster. I have stayed away from this thread for many reasons, but WH backintheday is right. It has been a problem since a certain high school principal was given too much authority. As a 1A school we spend way too much money for athletics. Having a mens and ladies AD's is stupid in my mind. We justify doing this because we win district in volleyball and that is what our last Super. wanted because he had a daughter in athletics and felt the male AD did not concentrate on ladies athletics enough. But is it worth 60K/yr. to do this? And bucster, yes she is the volleyball coach.

If Newton could figure out how to make shots from 5 feet and in in the 1st half the outcome could have been very different. Their shooting was way off, but the young kid on Newtons team was impressive. Was it #14 or 15? Tall slender soph I believe.

Coop, My son just called from Woodville and said Grapeland was up 31-19 at half. He did say it was a close game and that Woodvilles starting PG went down with an injury in the 2nd qtr and that is when Grapeland pulled away. He said Beckville beat Splendora in the first game, but did not say a score. Will have an update later.

I would like to add my thanks to Coach McCarter. It would have been easy not to play a 1A team. WOS really had nothing to gain in this game. If you win, great you should have. If you lose, you let a 1A team beat you? So coach thanks for the opportunity to play a very athletic group of guys. Hoopinsider, thanks for the opportunity you gave our guys to play in this event. I think the boys enjoyed it.

How many points did Newton leave out there in missed layups and 5 footers? Had to be 20-26. It was an ugly game. Come on HJ, good luck in your playoff run.

After tonight I say Thomas is #1. Then the others. Brandon had an off night tonight shooting, but he is top 5 in my book. Donahoe was good, but a lackluster performance by HJ I thought. Lazeek, that is why I put Brandon in the top 5. His on court smarts and keeping cool. Tonight was no indicator of his talent, but it is all some people will see of him. Coach McCarter, you had us scouted perfect. Remove the ball from Brandon and force someone else to step up and beat you. Good Luck to all in the playoffs.

I think that Hardaway should be able to voice his opinion just like you and I. Whether we agree with it or not that is his opinion and he has a right to it. Most people only want to hear what they like. I do not agree with everything he said, but he was in those locker rooms and he has a different view of it than anyone who posts here. I do not agree that the league should embrace them, just play ball and keep your preferences to yourself. I know some will agree with me and some will not. That is my 0.02 worth.

Brandon Letsingers long distance shot against Big Sandy as the buzzer sounded. Not a game winner, but pretty good none the less. Lazeek, I think there should be alot of talk about HJ, WH, Kountze, EC. Just not the banter of downing one to lift another. I think all of the above listed schools have had wonderful seasons and should be recognized. I know there are a lot of WH people saying alot about our season; but remember, WH has been the doormat for so long it is nice to be a little farther up the ladder for once.
