No kids goes to Yates for a D1 scholarship in academics! Truth Hurts son!
Ok, fine. My last comment shows that I agree with you that the kids transfer to Yates for basketball reasons. Maybe you misunderstood what I was saying or maybe I was unclear. Son? I'm pretty sure I'm older than you, plus I already have a dad.  ;D ;D ;D
I agree! You are older than me and the term "son" has nothing to do with father son relationship. Your maybe too old to understand sir!
2.
Badsanta, no they wouldn't. Again Silsbee Have no good offensive scheme so how would they blow a quality team out?? You guys have a lot returning but a team with an average defense would cause a lot of problems for y'all. I'm not a Silsbee fan, but I was pissed to see y'all lose to BC the way y'all did. Why in the heck would you run the spread at the 1 yard line when you got a huge running back to push it in?? I don't understand that!
Bridge City had a very good team last year. Pat Reed was injured and didn't play much at all. Drake did a nice job keeping the game close and getting Silsbee in position to win. Silsbee threw about 6 INT's that game and drove inside the BC one yard line twice to get killed by holding penalties. BC would have put 49 up on Kville last year. Silsbee does have issues in the spread I agree, but what other offense would you run? The old option Veer offense? Pro Set? Me personally I would have Floyd Spearman running more out of the I formation that the spread. Give him a head of steam going into the line verse having to take off at a stand still.
3. I didn't think Stallworth was bigger than the Berry Center.
4. Their academics are low! You can look that up! No kids goes to Yates for a D1 scholarship in academics! Truth Hurts son!
5. Yates isn't a school most patents would drive their kids 20miles to attend unless he was a basketball star. Yates has 17 kids waiting on transfers. 14 are for basketball.
6.
Yes they did but it was the first time and only time is school history on a 2 point conversion, but how many times has Silsbee won at K-ville and at Silsbee hmm lets count.
Kirbyville would get blasted by Silsbee this year. I kind of agree about the offense. Silsbee should move away from the spread and go with a traditional pro set offense. It's the coaches decision though.
7. When is the last time Silsbee beat PNG in football? Like 1992 in the playoffs?
8. I'm almost sick of people huggin on Yates acorns! They lost to Kimball last year because they have zero fundamentals. They do have size and speed. They shoot free throws like a team full of Shaq's and Dwight Howards. Any given night a upset can take place!
9. I'm surprised Hardin Jefferson and Jasper stadium isn't listed!
10. Patrick has a lot of size and very good speed. If he has a season of few turnovers, nice passing, and rushing, Silsbee could go beyond the second round. If he is as good as I know he is, he could be a major D1 prospect next year. Patrick still has a ways to go before he is compared to JJ. Just saying guys.
11. Man I would have loved to come out and show support. That place was 5 feet under water a few weeks ago due to all that rain. I live in Cypress Landing directly next to the course. I hate I missed you guys. Congrats!

I just couldn't help myself.
::) ::) Just like the Berry Center in Cypress Fairbanks?  ;) ;)
Difference, Mr. Berry had long been retired from the district. Wasn't currently on staff.
Mr. Berry is friend of our family! Helped get my wife the right contacts to get promoted to Principal in Cy Fair.
13. When is the next time this will take place? Are there any local schools on the edge of going up or down? Example Kountze to 1A or HJ to 2A?
14. I liked to watch Desmond Doss and Sid Wilson from Silsbee. The best single game performance was AJ Dugat and Dayton vs Sulpher Springs hands down.
15. I think this could be a special season in Tiger Land!
16. 1. Jay McGuire-Silsbee 2. Darrel Harold-Livingston 3. Lee land McElroy-Central 4. Dexter Hebert-Kelly 5. Johnathan Limbrick-Jasper 6. Kendal Cleveland-WOS 7. Troy Summarl-Nederland 8. Anthony Malbrough-West Brook 9. Adrian Arline/Detrice Spearman-Silsbee 10. Terence Currington-Jasper
17.
Sticking with just southeast Texas players (that is the title of the thread, but knew some would bring up other names), there have been many very good running backs from SETX, but not sure if you could call them great. Wooster, Byerly, Rodney Thomas of Groveton and maybe a couple of others could be considered great running backs. The best one game performance by a local running back that I have ever seen was by Silsbee's Jay McGuire in '93. He rushed for 464 yards and 6 TD's against Nederland. He had over 600 all-purpose yards that night. (rushing, receiving, returns).
I was at that game. He had over 250 at halftime and then returned a kickoff for a touchdown in the 3rd. Brian Spell and Eric Cammack also had a real nice game. Silsbee won 48-44 and later won again in the playoffs.
18. Trust me he knows Silsbee better than we think! Silsbee has been to Austin while his Yates teams were there as well.
