1.
And actually Yates has a Whose Who list of alumni, even if you take out the sports.
Yes they do. 2 of the largest are Phylica Rashad (Clair Huxtable the Cosby Show)  and her sister Debbie Allen ( professional dance teacher to the stars and show Fame)!
2. I'm willing to bet there are more Tigers with college degrees than Hawks. Let's make this conversation closer to home.
3. Nash if you got time to call the hospital looking for a doctor, either your job is too laid back or you need something better to do. The names are Stacey Samuels, Adam Bell, and Grace Phillips. So do you think HJ has more successful graduates than say.....Silsbee?
4. So would a HJ Alumni wouldn't be able to compete for one of the records?
5. Yes he is dude! The funny this is all major insurance companies have a Regional Headquarters in either Dallas, Austin, or Houston.
6. SteveNash, you might wanna dig a bit deeper. 3 out of the 4 major Insurance companies in Texas are headed by Yates graduates. Vincent and Elkins Law Firm has 2 Yates graduated and yes there are countless nurses in Herman and Memorial who have Yates degrees. I actually know a surgeon named Blake Powell who is a seogon at Herman Memorial 610. With all the Ytes bashing, they have some very very distinguish alumni. HJ couldn't been compare. Maybe the current issues with there schooling has been down, but over the last 30 years, they have some very very successful alumni. Most have nothing to do with sports.
7. Sports Yates would own your school in besides basketball. Here is a list and their Alumni who achieved it. 1. Dominos- Raymond Harper ( won 487 straight games from 83-87) 2. Craps- Nathan Goolsby ( rolled 236 times beofe rolling a 7 circa 1991)  3. Cursing- Alice Davis  ( used 27 curse words in one sentence before using a verb) record still stands. 4. Rock Paper Scissors- Allen Phillilps ( won 33 times in a row) 5. Rock skipping- Rosevelt Potter ( skipped a rock 18 times in Lake Conroe) 6. Skipping class- entire 1995 class ( started the year with 453, and 123 graduated)
8. I would go as far as to say that Yates has more accomplished Alumni than HJ! I bet Yates would own HJ in all sports! Maybe not golf, go cart racing, or watermelon seed spitting but the sports that count.
9. I really hope they make a run to state! That would be awesome! Great community and people out in Nederland area.
10. I do know quiet a few successful Yates garaduates that would beg to differ. My sister in law went to Yates and is the head home claims for Farmers in the state of Texas. Maybe she is the only one. IDK
11.

I'd be willing to bet HJ does have more kids who could plant okra, cut firewood, shuck peas,  and milk cows than Yates?
YOu are probably right.  At the same time, I will also wager that a lot more of them are gainfully employed/productive citizens as well.  Good thing about those hick HJ kids is that they are taught how to work for income rather than apply for it.
I was waiting out you buddy! Yates kids apply for government assistance is what your saying SteveNash? So you are basically saying they graduate just to apply for a Lone Strar shopping card? WoW!
12. I think either Central or Nederland has the absolute best shot in the area. No more Houston schools for them to deal with.
13. I think Sioabee could have some very good wideouts this year.
14. Nederland might go undefeated in the regular season!
15. I'd be willing to bet HJ does have more kids who could plant okra, cut firewood, shuck peas,  and milk cows than Yates?
16.

Their academics are low! You can look that up! No kids goes to Yates for a D1 scholarship in academics! Truth Hurts son!
Ok, fine. My last comment shows that I agree with you that the kids transfer to Yates for basketball reasons. Maybe you misunderstood what I was saying or maybe I was unclear. Son? I'm pretty sure I'm older than you, plus I already have a dad.  ;D ;D ;D
I agree! You are older than me and the term "son" has nothing to do with father son relationship. Your maybe too old to understand sir!
17.
Badsanta, no they wouldn't. Again Silsbee Have no good offensive scheme so how would they blow a quality team out?? You guys have a lot returning but a team with an average defense would cause a lot of problems for y'all. I'm not a Silsbee fan, but I was pissed to see y'all lose to BC the way y'all did. Why in the heck would you run the spread at the 1 yard line when you got a huge running back to push it in?? I don't understand that!
Bridge City had a very good team last year. Pat Reed was injured and didn't play much at all. Drake did a nice job keeping the game close and getting Silsbee in position to win. Silsbee threw about 6 INT's that game and drove inside the BC one yard line twice to get killed by holding penalties. BC would have put 49 up on Kville last year. Silsbee does have issues in the spread I agree, but what other offense would you run? The old option Veer offense? Pro Set? Me personally I would have Floyd Spearman running more out of the I formation that the spread. Give him a head of steam going into the line verse having to take off at a stand still.
18. Buns will be just fine! Good luck to them.
19. I didn't think Stallworth was bigger than the Berry Center.
20. Their academics are low! You can look that up! No kids goes to Yates for a D1 scholarship in academics! Truth Hurts son!
21. Yates isn't a school most patents would drive their kids 20miles to attend unless he was a basketball star. Yates has 17 kids waiting on transfers. 14 are for basketball.
22.
Yes they did but it was the first time and only time is school history on a 2 point conversion, but how many times has Silsbee won at K-ville and at Silsbee hmm lets count.
Kirbyville would get blasted by Silsbee this year. I kind of agree about the offense. Silsbee should move away from the spread and go with a traditional pro set offense. It's the coaches decision though.
23. When is the last time Silsbee beat PNG in football? Like 1992 in the playoffs?
24. I'm almost sick of people huggin on Yates acorns! They lost to Kimball last year because they have zero fundamentals. They do have size and speed. They shoot free throws like a team full of Shaq's and Dwight Howards. Any given night a upset can take place!
25. I'm surprised Hardin Jefferson and Jasper stadium isn't listed!
