IMO Silsbee should run more wildcat plays using Turk, Gaines, and Spearman. Those are your top playmakes. If you can't get the ball in their hands behind some decent blocking, then your season will end earlier than you want. There have been very few games this year (stats dont lie) that I think Silsbee has been able to get the ball in their playmakers hands consistantly. Haven't heard Turks name called in a while on a huge run or pass catch. Spearman's production has slowed down and Gaines hasn't had as many oppritunities as he did earlier in the year. Get the ball in the hands of the players who can move the chains. If Drake can do that, let him have the keys. :D
No santa most have been to every game that both have played in.....for years. You on the other hand have been to one game this year. ;) We can win with either QB......We can loose with either QB. Just depends on how you play the game out.
I can tell you if this you won't see Drake start because he is to valuable at other positions. Yes they win as a team and lose as a team, the QB has the ball in his hand on every snap and Reed give Silsbee the best chance at winning. Neither quarterback cam get them pass thesecond round. If they beat HF.

I think that if Silsbee's coaches wanted to have DrKe start he would have started at QBto start the season. Most of you are basing you opinion off of one game vs one of the worst teams in Texas. The BC game, Drake showed alot of heart being put in a tough situation. I'm fine with whom ever can win ball games. If Drake starts vs HF and leads Silsbee 2 or 3 rounds deep I'm all for it. Reed has had his share of turnovers this year, but he seems to be the better fit with Drake playing so many positions. With Turk, Drake, Gaines, and Holmes T wideout, Silsbee shouldnever have a problem mo ing the ball thru the air.

If Silsbee is good enough to beat HF, I say play both QB's in the playoffs.
My point is a Reed is a better fit for SIlsbee's offense. Not to take anything away from Drake. He is one heck of a player, but he threw 5 TD's in a game vs HJ not WOS or BC. Reed did get Silsbee to 6-0 if I recall. I guess he was good enough for those games and earned the right to start. Drake is better at wideout and saftey. Him playing QB, Saftey, Punter, Kicker, etc wears him down to much. Reed is young and has alot of growing and maturing to do. If Silsbee wants to have success outside of thier next game, they are better off leting Garret play his normal position at WR and Saftey.
Not saying anything about who needs to start or doesnt. But you are the large school of the district. I have a hard time believing that there isnt a young man on the team that could take over one or two of those positions, so that you could start big D as a Q/B.....if he is needed there. A small school.......maby not. [/quote I'm not the coach! I would agree with you if the starting QB Reed hadnt won 6 games before his injury. He doesnt pass well but he runs better than Drake. Drake passes well but isnt as fast as Reed.

Top 10 Most Untouchable Records

I think the record for most Turkey legs ate at a high school game in 1994 Silsbee at Jasper. Saw a man from Jasper knock down 5 that cold winter night. He wasnt even full because he also knocked down 2 nachos with chili. CRAZY SON!! -

I'm kind of worried about the Tigers. They have lost their mojo scoring points.

Reed is a sophomore and Drake is a senior

Must win game for Silsbee. It seems Silsbee has struggled in district scoring points. They were averaging 30ppg or more in none district. Is 21-3A that tuff or did the Tigers lose their early season swag?

Nederland Tourney will be very strong!

Preseason playoff Poll for 21-3A
BADSANTA replied to Honest Abe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
You are wrong fellas. Silsbee can't even think about beating HJ. You guys are the best in Texas this year. -
Silsbee will win!
