Silsbee could have been overrated. They beat HJ twice and West Brook twice. Not sure to say overrated but maybe go caught up in the hype. Who knows. They hada great year still. HJ will join us on the sidelines tonight. This isn't the same Cleveland team that loses every year. The Indians will go to state.

Is that what I said? Sutherland is great high school coach. Shawn needs to get a AAU coach or college level coach to teach him some ball handling skills and how to pull up for some 10-15 foot jumpers. Playing AAU ball and playing better competition in the Houston and Dallas area can help him. DC played against mostly 5A and out of state talent last summer and it helped him to play better. Shawn and Bosha both have very rare skill sets that can be maximized by playing against some of the big boys over the summer. If you put both of them on Sneeds AAU team this summer, you better watch out for HJ next year. They will win state off those 2.

True Blue are you saying this years team was overrated?  Sealy with its size would pose a challenge for any team in 3A. They have 2 decent players and 1 damn good player in Seal-Jones. I guarantee HJ wouldn't beat them either. I expect Sealy to match up well vs Cleveland if both get that far. If your saying this years Silsbee team was overrated then I disagree. They played their worst game of the year at the worst time. Stuff happens. Travis has more wins over the past 5 yrs than any other coach in SETX including Sutherland. Silsbee will be fine with Gaines, Elam, Wilson, and Holmes returning. No need to talk trash now that their home.

[/quote] I'm going to keep it real as real can get! DC Stallworth isnt the best player in SETX. The kid from Nederland Smith is better! I'm a SIlsbee fan and watch both play this year. Smith should be SETX player of the year IMO. Prudhomme will be the best player in SETX next year. He needs a GOOD coach to worth with him over the summer on his mid range jumper. If he adds that to his game along with his driving ability, he will be one of the BEST EVER to come from this area. I know two local college coaches who are looking at him. SFA and McNeese St like him over Stallworth.

Aggie, I questionyou as well. You hide behind the truth! I know your the most noteable person from Silsbee since Mark Henry, but dont be scared to say something others won't agree with. It may sound stupid sometimes, but your best blogs are the ones where people openly speak their mind. I know I take it out of context sometimes but people like to debate! DD Taylor was awesome! I grew up about right around the corner from him. He was also a good running back and baseball player

True Blue what has your team done lately??? This topic was started 3 months ago. We honestly could care less that Silsbee is no longer in the playoffs. I do feel for the kids, parents, and coaches. Life goes on. You on the other hand need to focus on weather or not Brookshire Bros. will allow you to work a 40hr schedule in order to keep that tin can you call a home paid up!

I'm my 31 yrs of living, I have seen Silsbee make 3 runs to state and several trips to the region finals. There is a very strong basketball tradition at this school but can't get over that hump.

Im pulling for the Hawks, but this will be a tough game for HJ.

Ill get you your 6 years like I said. They never finished 1st but were ranked that high. Silsbee finished ranked in the top ten 12 times in school history.

82/83, 91/92, 96/97, and I know twice in the 70's. I have 4 news paper articles from them being ranked.

H vs Cleveland should be played in either Aldine or Baytown. Clevland has the excuses in the world because they know lose is on the way!
