AAW please consider the style of offense that was ran! Highest recruit doesn't mean the best. Doss and Mathews were recruited by D1 schools. Brian had offerd from Oklahoma st and Randy TCU. Jeremy wasn't a top 10 QB in the country. He was darn good but I think Doss was just as good. What about wins and loses? Sedrick Spearman had a better win loss that JJ.

AAW, JP White is what made Tiger sports for me. I went to every Silsbee football game from 1987-93 home and away. We would have the head phones listening to the game in the stands and JP would miss about 3 plays per quarter talking about what he was going to eat on the way home. Classic radio!

Has any of the local teams considered doing this for a few games each season. Not sure for the budget, but I'd like to donate the game jersey's for Silsbee. One of my clients is Adidas and I know they would like to do it for next season. Whom may could I speak to or who is Silsbee AD now? We will do helmets, jerseys, and cleats.

AAW, Ira was a assistant when I played under Joe Sigler from 94-98. He has always enjoyed molding young men and getting the best out of them. The same with Collins as well.

Ira has always been in the shadows of other head coaches. It is now time for him to step outand run a program on his own, I think this guy would be a good fit for some local schools. Always good with kids and really tries to develop positive young men.

I want to watch Ozen vs West Brook, Silsbee vs HJ, HJ vs Kountze etc.... Same every year! I think there is a lot of talent ready to display on the hard wood in the next few weeks.

Nice post! The movie "Friday Night Lights" shows you how passionate people take high school football. Funny how people act over a team losing! Seems to me that people need to focus more on Christ, family, and work. Football is a game. As long as the kids are healthy after the game is really what matters.

I measure wins and losses for the guys that make 500k plus at the college level. Mack makes 5mill. He has more preasure than say a Dan Hooks or Bobby Mcgallion

I agree! Turning young men and women into productive citizans. Its not about wins or loses when your in high school! Some fans should understand this.

Do you measure your coaches success on playoff wins, district championships, playoff appearences, or what? I have seen coaches in all sports get hired and fired after a winning and losing season. How do you measure your teams coaching success over the last 10 years?
