Just remember Coug...took Crosby like 19 years to win their first 4A playoff game so keep running your trap.  We still have like 13 more years to go to meet that record.... ;D
You have to remember, Crosby and Dayton have been playing 4a nearly from the beginning. Trust me, if the playoff system was watered down like it is now it wouldn't have taken even 6 years to win a playoff game. Maybe Liltex or MBG can say for sure but I know they only took two max from each district and I think at the beginning they only took the district champ. They've been taking 4 teams since BH has been 4a, no excuses.
I don't see your point.  Still 19 years for Crosby to win their first 4a playoff game.  BH won district in two of the years in the 5 or 6 years they have been 4-A, still better than the first 6 years for Crosby in the 1 team playoff system (which by the way I still like better than what we have).  So the ratio is still better than Crosby... I'm just sayin to quote Octofeb.

5. gotta go with the Eagles by 17! I too don't think Livingston's O will keep the defense out of the backfield enough for the QB to be effective.
6. Who's to say really....but maybe, Dayton really isn't that bad, but the competition that they normally rolled has really gotten better...The next few games will tell a lot.
I have to disagree with you on this one MBG. Besides 92 what position is Ned better at on D. Maybe 90 on the other side but if so not much. # 76 for SC is the best d-tackle in this district and the best I've seen so far this year. SC secondary are bigger and faster, the linebackers are bigger and faster, I'll give the D-line a push but SC gets interior pressure while Ned gets it off the ends. We played both teams, and we only scored 7 on Ned but it was the first game of the season with a new coaching staff so I'm sure it would be different now. We barely got 20 on SC and we're one of the most potent offenses in the region. Pryor is one of Ned big time players and doesn't have a rivals offer/interest sheet yet. Start looking up the SC players on D and you'll see what I'm talking about.
agree to disagree. ive watched both teams play versus similar offenses.  8)
I hope you're not basing your opinions on the game you watched between SC and BH.  That was a wayyyy skewed affair.  They (SC) played possum from basically the middle of the 2nd qtr thru the end.  I hate to say it, but if they would have passed, the outcome would have been like Dayton's.  We only scored 11 and maybe or maybe not, we got 7 on the 2nd string.  We certainly should have had at least 7 more and they got a gimme with botched ko return; but I truly believe they were just going through motion.  As for as BH goes....who knows, but what you saw with the backup QB is not what Livingston will see with the starter.  Denny starts for a reason and not taking ANYTHING away from Gigout, he's good. If you're basing your opinion off of the Dayton vs BH game..again, not a very good sampling.  A team doesn't lose it's general (say he had 3 series but seriously, I've seen way better teams take a quarter and even a half to find it's groove) and in such an emotional game overcome everything that BH had to do against Dayton and still keep Dayton to a last minute miracle read/run to win the game. I grant you BG you BH hatin' ex SFA (fill in the blank), Dayton losing to SC and BH losing to both Dayton and SC are way better than you give them credit for.  You just can't see it and that's ok.
11. Maybe Dayton has been too close to BH cuz now they're starting to sound like us.  Last week, you guys were All-World" beaters and now, troubles in the ranks.  Maybe Joel isn't the Stewart reincarnation, talent but no leadership, players above everybody else?  Guys, this is the same team that y'all felt were basically untouchable 7 days ago.  I agree, lighten up on team and staff....Dayton does have a good team, it just got a little reality check from a really talented team in SC!!
12. Depends which Crosby shows up.  I'm thinking Crosby by 8.
13. This will be a smash-mouth type of game.  Dayton got HUMBLED big time (yes, pun intended) last night with SC.  Dayton is not a bad team, even with the blow-out; but maybe they can regroup, take stock of what didn't work, (which was just about everything) and come out swinging. I don't think last night automatically lends to a Nederland butt spanking of Dayton.  Not making excuses for Dayton at all, there's enough 'em on here for that; but I think they had too many distractions over the past two weeks.  In addition, their whole team just about went to the BH vs SC game and watched a very uninspired SC team just go through the motions against a very good BH team and still managed an easy V without going to their strength much, the pass!  What should have been a good teaching tool for a young Dayton team, I think, was more of a poisonous ingredient to an otherwise tasty winning recipe.  Overconfidence kills!!!! I say Dayton 24-21!
14. I doubt very seriously that Vidor puts up 35 on SC's defense.  I mean anything could happen just don't see it.  SC's offense CAN hang nearly 1/2 100 (can't believe I'm saying that) on just about anybody it wants to and I really don't see Vidor or anybody else in SETX keeping them from doing it.  I'll say this game nearly as bad as Dayton's...42-20
15. Any updates on this game please?
16. Sorry Bronco...I think they score what they want to.  Question is can Dayton get on the board?
17. I'm sure Nederland is really good....but I don't think they can hang with SC...imo!
18. uh oh Dayton...These SC guys are for real!
19. Yeah, Dayton's side was pretty full.
20. Yawn!!!  This is thread is so off topic.....well, I guess it really isn't, but has become a yawn for sure!! ;D Ok, Since our hiney's (?) got paddled by both of your teams, I'll just say this 'cause I can.  The game will be an amazing game and just wished I could be there.  Like so many games of this caliber, with so much riding on the W, it really can go both ways!  I do feel SC has the advantage on offense based on games I've watched.  Certainly they have the passing advantage, but the those receivers gotta catch it.  If they do, look out.  I saw too many "in the hands" drops against BH.  Maybe they were "too" open, I don't know.  Dayton better air it out way more than they did against BH.  14 attempts or so won't cut it against this team as Dayton's running game; albeit good, is going to get shanked liked it did against BH!  To say Dayton's D is better than BH's, well of course, I differ in that...but since Dayton didn't hardly pass during that game, what I saw, was BH was every bit as good as Dayton's.  Secondary isn't, but well, if you don't pass against BH it's a moot point! Both teams have plenty speed so it would be fun watching both teams get into the open field.  So, if the weather really did impact Dayton like I think it did, AND, if SC's coaching staff really did hold everything back as some of you say, look out on Friday.  Get both team's speed in the open field and that scoreboard really will look our country's deficit clock!  Although I "think" I want Dayton to win (only because of our long history together and being neighbors - NOT because of any affiliations with any of the yahoos from Dayton on here), SC might just come out on top.  I think rushing wise, they're fairly equal; passing goes to SC. Defense I have to say goes to SC; but since we didn't pass against them, I have no idea how good their secondary is. As for as you 20-4A guys, you beat your chest for your guys, we'll beat our chest for our guys and when next week comes, we'll all see.  I think both the D1 matchups will be wayyyyy better than either side seems to think.
21. Alright two games, two losses!  My personal thoughts....Dayton ain't BH's superbowl!  Is it a big game...heck yeah because we have been playing you guys probably longer than any other team in SETX so the history of the two teams playing is enough to make a rivalry...not to mention the 14 or so miles difference and shared border!  Last week...High emotion on both side.  To think Dayton "played-down"...lawd son, don't disparage your boys or your coaches with that comment!  Weather?  Heck yeah, the weather took Dayton (or Mr. Chambers)  out of their game plan.  If he would have pulled the trigger, yes, Dayton would have scored more.  For whatever reason, he didn't and result was a very close game.  Dayton COULD NOT run on the Hill!! Last night...no weather excuses.  Not sure why SC didn't air it out.  If they had, yes, would have been a lot worse; even if we would have made the catch on the 7 and not fumbled the kickoff.  Our running game too was stifled by a pretty salty D.  Passing....hmmm, I sure wish we could find a way to pass a little more if not for any other reason to keep the D a little more honest OR make me feel better by not running the same play getting stuffed every time!  SC could not run on the Hill!!!  If we play a run heavy team in round 1, the game is going to be tough.  If that team can effectively pass, yep, 1 and done! Next week will be tough.  Whichever team which has the most effective passing O is going to win.  Don't think it's going to be won with the run but I guess that too is why the game is played.  Also, if SC can't get a little discipline, Dayton has the firepower to make them pay; BH obviously didn't.  Oh well, BH, you're a salty bunch and I'm proud of you, win or lose!!

I did not see any speed from him at all last night. People can believe what they want but I was at the game also and I believe the score would have been much larger in Daytons favor if the wind was not such a issue. Not a excuse. Just a fact and we still won...............I will say their defense is very good and their line did cause havoc all night.
Strongly disagree!!!  I was at the game too and although the wind was a pain in the "a" for everybody, completions were made 50% of the time for Dayton and 75% of the time for BH.  You guys are supposed to have a studly backfield with break away threats.  1. You had less rushing yards. 2. less first downs. 3. more punts. 4.  less passing yards; albeit by 1 yard than BH.    If anything, the wind disrupted your coaches more than it disrupted your passing game.  You guys (as per stats on Chron.com) avg 7.6 pass completions per game and guess what 7 completions this game.  Yes, Dayton won and like I said, congratulations on a hard fought win; but c'mon guys, BH shut down your vaunted offense just as Dayton shut down BH's.  Call it for what it was, a helluva game with a good plan by both coaching staffs and leave it at that.
ALL THAT BEING SAID................TAKE THAT ARSE WHOOPIN AND LIKE IT  ;) DAYTON DID WHAT WE DO......PLAY DOWN TO WEAKER COMPETION AND COME OUT WITH DA W  ; ;) GOOD LUCK WITH SC NEXT WEEK..........OH NEVER MIND 1. WE DONT HAVE OUR STARTING QB 2. WE DIDNT BLITZ ENOUGH 3. IF IT WASNT FOR THE "BIG PLAY" WE HUNG TOUGH 4. IT WAS THE RIGHT CALL ON D "EVEN THOUGH IT COSTED US THE GAME" 5.
