1. Hey Hillguy, penalties killing our drives or GP's?
 2. Ok...this is getting way overboard from both sides.  Pride from student athletes in their program, school, and community is what we hope our kids have.  Pride in our student athletes, our programs that our tax dollars help to sustain, and pride in our communities are some of the hallmarks to our great communities.  Trust me guys and gals, I have had the privilege to live in numerous states and nowhere that I have lived can match what you in Texas have; nothing when it comes to HS athletics and community involvement!  We have Yahoos from both communities - Dayton and BH alike who do get a bit overzealous on these boards and we keep coming back day after day to see what other inane, BS comment was made and by whom.  I watched this thread from the beginning, sort of ebb and flow and I have to tell you that it's on both sides.  Dayton has a great football program and has for the past, what, 12 or 15 years?  Kuddos to Stewart, the administration for the direction, and the Dayton community for it's support.  BH isn't having the best of seasons on the football field of late, but has traditionally been Very successful.  But neither community has the best of anything and probably never will.  As for what's been stated over and over about the Hill riding the coattails of Dayton and being jealous of Dayton's program...uh uh...Never has and Never will...well ok, I'm jealous of your stadium!  As for as the Hill being the best of everything else or the best in everything else, uh uh, never has and never will...pretty darn good, but not the best!  We're two equally proud communities with reasons to be proud with past and present accomplishments and we need to just let it go at that.  Hopefully, this will be  a great rivalry in the future.  In the day that I was at the Hill...we looked at Dayton as a rivalry and we WANTED to beat Dayton, the big brother from the north; but I don't believe they felt the same rivalry with us and why should they have.  I believe up until the Stewart era, it was like 11 wins apiece dating back to the 50's.  Perhaps with growth, comes a dilution of the "old school pride" and it's a sad thing if you want to be nostalgic, but it is what it is.  Yahoos from both will get on here and beat their chest and have a p!@@!n contest because it's entertainment or they need to entertain themselves in that manner because it makes them feel better.  Most on the other hand, don't fall in that category and would prefer that you not say all Hillians or Hillarians or all Broncos or Dayton people.  People, that's just nonsense!  Go Hill, go Dayton, represent 19-4a in all athletic and academic endeavors and lets support our young folk to help them be great, upstanding citizens in their communities now, and in their future and not act like the Yahoos who get their rocks off bashing others on message boards!!!  Good "Lawdy" and I'll get off my soap box now!!!   ;D
 3. Dear God....Sending prayers from Colorado to the Garrett family, Team, and all those affected directly and indirectly!!!!
 4. Cool Beans from the mtns of Colorado!
 5. is this game being broadcast anywhere?
 6. Thanks Hillguy...I missed my local Homecoming tonight to see if 19-4A could salvage a win against 20-4A.  Locally, it was 43-19 at the half for our Redskins (we have to play 8-man here).  Anyway, glad to hear that our guys held on to the ball this time.  Saw some stats on Chron.com though that Nederland had like 391 total yards.  Wayyyy too many yards, but I'll take the win just the same.  See you in a few weeks for the Lee game!  As for as the coldfront...it's on it's way as it's in the 30's tonight here.
 7. Hillguy...give me your take.  'Bout gave me a heart attack from 1100 miles away!!!!
 8. OH my...what happened to the BH D?
 9.

Did the BH coach get to call the plays or did the Supt./board members call them?
I'm sure this is just a rumor, but what I heard is; If we dont win big this year, the super and several board members promised to step down. Has anyone else heard anything like that?
Sorry fella, but that's a pretty silly comment to make.  Rumors or purported rumors get us in trouble and make us look absolutely stupid! Let's support the Eagles, School Board, and town.  We look pretty silly in the eyes of most on here with all our in-fighting. Let's go Eagles and have great year with renewed enthusiasm/heart/desire.

 11.
I do believe that BH should begin to now lower there sites and realize money can't buy all. There are plenty of quality coaches out there, but I believe BH is reaching beyond reality in the coaches they are targeting.
This is a pretty lame comment too?  Why would you ever lower your sites on anything in life.  Swing for the moon man, swing for the moon.  You'll never hit a homerun if you never swing the bat so BH, continue to try and get the best....The school district and the kids deserve nothing less!!!!
Hillguy, are you kiddin' me?????  How are the young men, mentally speaking I mean???
They're fine (and thanks for asking!)...and better prepared for the ugly side of life now I guess.  >:( You know, this kind of crap just p!@$#$ me off!!!! 14.
WOW  Pages of posts.    What an embarrassment for some of us that live on the Hill.  I seldom post because most of the time the topic goes off subject.  I do read them from time to time for some of the smack talk is funny (PNG) and sometimes there are entertaining observations.  But, the subject for this one is 'Who will be the next Barbers Hill HC'.  It is not whether we have D1 athletes or if we like Don or when I played... or if the we go tell someone to go 'eat an apple'.  If you want to know why he was asked to resign, go ask DR. Poole.  If you want to know how the Board members voted then go ask them.  Go to an extracurricular activity, you can also find a Board member there.  Express your thoughts and get theirs. But, what ever you do stop lambasting things that go on at The Hill.  You may not agree with all the decisions for seldom is there ever a majority that does.  If you get involved and be a part of system then you may have justifiable comments which could actually impact things that happen before it happens.  You may find that the more involved you are, the more proud you will be of our community. Coach Price, thank you for your years of commitment to Barbers Hill and we wish you the best of luck. Now... 'Who Will Be The Next Barbers Hill HC? Hopefully we get some applicants from some top schools.  The OC Green at Lake Travis is a good fit, or the DC Thomas at Denton Ryan.  Maybe Poole could get some of the guys from the Woodlands here.  Would it not be nice to think that in order to draw that type of personnel we need, perhaps turf could be back on the docket.
Good post BHPride!!!!!!!!!!!
 15. Thanks guys, please keep them coming when you can!
 16.
I will not say on this board what Hall has done in the past.  I know for a fact things happened because it happened when I was in school in the 90's.  She would not be a good for BH.  Yes she won, but she also had quite a few D1 basketball players.  Also, she did not have to compete with volleyball so she got her players year round.  I have nothing personally against her, I just would not want her coaching my daughter if I had one.
Well Stranger, PVT me so you don't have to be so cryptic.  Like I said, I grew-up with her and if she's being run through the mud, I would like to know.  IF you PVT me, then this board won't see it.  How 'bout it?
 17. Ok, somebody enlighten me please about Pennee Hall.  Someone wrote earlier that she did something unethical or illegal. (just IM me please)  Is this documented or is it hearsay?  Secondly, other than the Hillians who actually KNOW her personally, like myself since I grew-up with her, are you just speculating that as an AD she wouldn't be worth a flip because she would have her own agenda - Girls Basketball???  In my opinion, and it's only MY opinion, I think she has the ability to be a good AD and knowing her roots and the fact that she is a native, why would she NOT want to see the football program excel???  She's not stupid, trust me!  Now, I will say I have been away a long time and alot can change, but man, where's the hate coming from?  And to say she wasn't a good coach????  I don't think you can win a state championship in any sport as a HC without the ability to get the best from your kids.....  Now, if whatever she did is illegal or unethical and is not a good role model, then yes, I would say that should probably keep her out - good coach or AD candidate aside.....
 18. Well, I don't have a dog in this hunt but I'm a 3rd generation Hillian and I'll tell you this.  Yes, we do have some overzealous parents and always have.  Show me a school that doesn't!  Yes, politics play a part in HS sports...show me a school that doesn't!  Has Price done a good job at the Hill...obviously, his record speaks the fact!  But hey guys, sometimes you have to force the issue or you never get any better and that's in EVERYTHING - your own life included!!!  The fact is now we go foward, hating Price or hating the school board - moot point, decision made.  BHFan is passionate about what he witnessed on the field and for him, didn't like Price's style (and I concur about the whole adjustments comments.)  BH34 thought highly of the man and that's his perogative too.  But guys and gals of the Hill that bleed Royal Blue...we move on and we support the new regime, whomever it may be!!  Guys in the GT area, thanks for your interest in the Hill, that shows you care :), and Golden Triangle, your comment is neither respected nor appreciated and was totally not called for on this board.  Everybody has an opinion but to tell somebody on here to shut up....
 19.
Your Price's, Evans', Martel brothers, Valastro's are hard to come by.  With the politics on the Hill, I hope they can find someone good to replace Coach Price!!! Living in Chambers County, politics are thick and hopefully it won't cause a problem, I'm sure it will, because the KIDS need someone there who is a coach on and off the field!!!  Good Luck BH
Ah heck...show me an Optimist Club program, a little league baseball league, or high school board ANYWHERE where there aren't politics involved in some capacity!!!!  It's everywhere!!!!!! Hey Hillguy, is there chance cuz' would come to the Hill????
 20.
I have seen PN-G multiple times and this was not they're best showing but give credit to BH you're team played with a ton of heart. I'm a proud Indian but my job sways me from being just a fan. They are not the most talented team in the state but they find the ways to win. Faircloth makes great adjustments but he's not Bear Bryant either and he doesn't act like it. I respect 19-4A they play hard. I'll take the heart of a good team over skill players any day. I hope my Indian faithful takes a step back and embraces the role of underdog despite being undefeated. If you listened to Faircloth when he got here he said he wants to embrace the past but not live in it and he also said Nederland is just another district game. I respect that he is a lot like my baseball coach when I was there Jay Stone. Last weeks win doesn't win this week. Good luck to all SE Texas teams and that includes 19-4A
Thank you!
 21. Well, there you have it.  I guess all you 20-4a fans are correct.  Your #1&2 beat our #3&4 by a combined 1 more point than our #1&2 beat your #3&4!  I concede, y'all have the best district! >:(
