Agreed and the football coach never once atleast while I was there tried to sway the baseball players to come out. This was during the Mike Manley days.

Thats why I clarified the kids coming from Baytown but there is zero doubt. RSS and Lee were going toe to toe with North Shore and West Brook in those days while BH was playing East Chambers lol. I hear you, I am not saying there was no players at all but I am saying there was a huge difference in a 3a football team and a 5a football team. RSS had some stout teams in the mid 90s even though Lee dominated after Olins first year. 93-97 in particular had some stout players including Rocky Bernard who starred at A&M and for the Giants and Seahawks. I cant remember what year Mike Hendricks was who signed with Fla State as a TE. He was a stud as well.

What is so funny? I saw it a few times in my class. One in particular couldn't make varsity football or baseball but went to BH and became all state. Family rented an apartment on eagle drive. Not saying all of BH was not capable, I am saying the ones that transferred in from Baytown were coming for a reason. In baseball ,football and basketball RSS would have spanked any BH team in boys sports back then. Not sure on the girls side but on the boys side the gap was huge. Not sure what year was the breaking point but its def not the case anymore obviously.

Yes I was talking about attendance and atmosphere. Like Patty said, many are RSS graduates from the 90s whose kids attend BH. There is a rivalry between the kids now that wasn't there when I was in school. Back in the mid 90s BH was a 3a and where you went if you couldn't hack it at 5A Sterling or Lee to get to play. That is no longer the case with the boom that has occurred out there with mostly Baytown people. BH puts a lot of effort into making it known that sports are very important where as GCCISD is more about the everyone gets a trophy mentality with the 3 schools. That way they can have 3 bands, 3 qbs etc. I much prefer the one horse town where everyone is an eagle and an administration that wants to win and understands the publicity that comes with it. Now that the schools are roughly the same size, RSS and BH should play every year and I'm ok with mixing in GCM every once in while vs playing an HISD schools or traveling an hour away to play someone. I often drive by stallworth on a friday night and feel terrible for those kids with hardly anyone in the stands. Most of the time its either Lee or GCM that is playing when I see that. Go watch a BH game on a Friday night and the home side stands are full. If I am kid that is where I would want to play, its a great atmosphere.

A RSS and BH game would. GCM and REL not so much.

So it’s Poole? Didn’t they play when gage was the coach and Denny’s kid was the qb? yeah the potential volleyball playoff argument matchup is weak one…the kids want to play..play the non district game early in the season because odds are they will be different teams come November

Why arent BH and any of the GCCISD school playing? It makes no sense to me. Would have a huge crowd and playoff atmosphere. Instead RSS is playing Booker T Washington and BH is playing Heights. SMH

Is Houston Sterling HISD they played in the playoffs two years ago? I remember they showed up with hardly any fans and the band didnt come or was late if I remember right. It was sad. BH side was packed with zero on the other side.

Whats your thoughts on district?

Big challenge on Friday night against 6A Summer Creek. Game is at 4:30 for varsity so all the football fans can catch the game before heading to Houston for Football!

Hagler was not healthy all year last year. I am curious to see these 6'4 WR's they have, young but good athletes. Watching those Katy clips, they do look like they have a lot of size. The RB looks stout.

All you have to do is sign up for the study and go to any of the testing centers it lists. I was not vaccinated and then got infected just two weeks ago. I am curious what my antibodies will look like in two months when I go get my second test. I expect my levels to have increased quite a bit as they say it takes 14-30 days after infection to get full antibodies.

Figured this might deserve its own topic. [Hidden Content] I enrolled in this study and Friday got my first of 3 blood tests over 6 months. I got my results yesterday.They are taking natural and vaccinated antibody subjects. I'm curious if anyone else is doing it or knows about it?Seems like a great way to conclusively compare natural vs vaccination response.I was infected on 8/9.

I dont know if anyone has posted this but if you are interested in testing your antibodies from having the virus or from just the vax this allows you do to do that. UTMB is doing this and covers the cost of the tests. I got covid on 8/9 and luckily did not have a bad case. I got my antibody test Friday and results yesterday confirming both S and N protein antibodies. If you have only had the vax you would not have have N proteins. [Hidden Content]

Bridge City went 2-1 with a 3 set loss to Foster. West Brook either went 0-3 or 1-2 on the day.

Saw Huffman in a scrimmage last week. Solid team but lost their best player from last year so I would say not as strong this year.
