wow long sure seems to be getting hit hard for someone that is suppose to be mid 90s. Is his ball straight with little movement? Final UT 2- HBU 0...Horns scored on a safety squeeze and 0-2 count sac fly. Huskies Dalton Schaefer goes 8 innings with only 2runs allowed. UT threw the staff each an inning or two and all pitched well. Well played game, no errors on either side. -

Looking at the stats from the season as a whole, the Horns can not hit once again. I do not understand why augie does not recruit more big hitters. Small ball is fine but you also need some studs in the lineup. Next up I see they play HBU which appears to be better this year. -
TX State really has a gotten to where they have a good program, I know they have had some stud pitchers the last few years. The kid goldschmidt from the diamond backs played just a couple of years ago. They've got to be the favorites in the southland this year.

thats a nice day on the bump! congrats -
Wow sure is. I do not remember him going to UT for a year. I heard that Bill had moved to Boise to escape the heat from Boston, looks like the kid went to HS there. I wonder if Bill was incognito, Im sure he likes to fly under the radar when in attendance right?

Glad to see price off to such a good start. That TAMU -CC is always a scrappy ball club.

How about the two baytown schools losing BH , Dayton and Crosby to travel to galveston, pearland, friendswood, texas city and santa fe. Talk about some late night travels! All three baytown schools are getting hosed. Sterling was about 200 kids shy of moving to 4a while lee had room for 500-600 more kids while staying 4a. Doesnt make sense. -
I agree spoonbill, biggest problem today is that kids are given everything instead of having to earn it. Then they get to the high school level or even sometimes at their first job and cant understand why they get cut or fired for not working hard. Its sad really, parents think they are protecting their kids by keeping them from heartache early but in reality thats how you learn and grow stronger. Instead by delaying that process it just makes it worse and sometimes creates an adult that is worthless and blaming others their whole life.

Great story eagle, thats awesome! congrats and good luck this year

PNG Freshman team had there cut today, several good players were cut that are passing, but were told they were to short. Since when did your size matter in Baseball. Also there are 8 players that made the team that are failing at this time. Im not sure how "no pass no play reads but you can bet when i talk to the UIL they will be able to clear it up. There are some that couldnt play basketball due to grades and now here we are in baseball season. I hope the PNG coaches start a player that is failing, we will love to see that. Freshman that will be on Varsity, **deleted** **Mod edit** This is not the place to post heresay about specific kids grades. Please remember you are talking about 14-18 year old kids here. Consider this your 1st warning
Getting cut as a freshmen might turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Mine was cut as a freshman, (southpaw pitcher no-less). Rained the week of tryouts and coaches didn't even see him throw. Went home and taped that days' date on his bedroom door and hasn't quit working his tail off since. Senior in college, weekend starter, has paid for about 85% of his college education, and if healthy, will be drafted June 4th. Playing with a chip on your shoulder and out to prove folks wrong, can sometimes really elevate your game. Just my "glass half-full" story. ;)
