  1. You can use it as it makes your fanbase happy but all I can tell you is it is way off. That is the problem with the TGCA poll, all they look at is records and don't weigh strength of schedule. Lets look at BH, two of their losses are to the two of the top 3ranked teams in the 6A poll but yet they are 14 and behind #9 Foster who they just beat in a sweep? Their other two losses are to stacked private schools, one who is the back to back 6A state champions in Oklahoma. Not taking that into account is laughable at best.
  2. BC is 4a and pretty sure there are some 4a schools in there.
  3. Huffman is now 6-7 on the year S1 S2 S3 Wins Hargrave 24 17 13 0 Atascocita 26 25 25 3 Laporte 3 Crosby 0. Crosby now 3-9 on the year?
  4. dang went 5 sets S1 S2 S3 S4 S5 Wins Port Neches-Groves 25 25 22 25 15 3 LCMHS 16 27 25 23 10 2
  5. Barbers Hill 25-10, 25-9, 25-9 over 6A Clear Lake
  6. I don't disagree with you, PNG losing to 3A Buna twice is an even worse look than losing to Sterling. Maybe disregard the TGCA poll too since they ranked PNG soley on record with no account of who they have beaten or lost too. They need to get more voters because its way off. Reference the TVI poll instead which is 100 times more accurate. As far as who would I rank above them, well that is the issue IDK. I think with only 4 games played though while other teams have played 10 plus games should maybe make them an incomplete. No beef with BC other than I know they are not in the same class of the teams they had the previous two years. The KSA tournament is not a good tournament unless you just want to visit Disney World. That is interesting because the best high tournament in the country is going on this week in the Austin Area with Volleypalooza. You want to get challenged that is what you sign up for not KSA.
  7. week 3 rankings These are so much more accurate than then other
  8. That tournament is more for vacation than it is for competition. Its generally really weak. Waste of time and resources in the big scheme of things.
  9. Do you think the Dayton tournament has really good teams in it? Why is Bridge City intentionally laying low with the qualify of their schedule? Losing to Sterling is not a good loss.
  10. Are you saying Barbers Hill is down? During Vidors 7-0 start, did they play anyone with a pulse? Records aren't always the end all be all, need to look at who they are actually playing. BH has played some big time programs, not sure anyone else in the area has played anyone remotely in the same ballpark. If you are only playing other teams from the Golden Triangle you might want to step out and play some other areas. Bridge City stepped out and played the Dickinson tourney two years ago and never came back, the same tourney BH has reached the finals 3 years in a row and won it back to back. Nederland has played in the John Turner two years in a row in Pearland and has finished in the bottom both years. My opinion is BH is close enough to Houston area club volleyball that their players develop at the top levels of club where as east texas/gold triangle has a hard time keeping up due to logistics. Until that changes the level of volleyball in HS will not change. Huffman lost some srs last year including their setter so that is tough to replace. They got on a magical run last year but for perspective they lost to BH 3-0 last year and 3-0 the year before.
  11. That was last year. Baytown Sterling lost its D1 middle and Juco Setter and is not even close to the same team this year. They may not even make the playoffs. Need to take into account returners. Their record so far this year pretty clearly shows they aren't the same team.
  12. Not sure what to expect in this one
  13. Vote Totals 1. Barbers Hill 20 2. Bridge City 18 3. Buna 13 3. PNG 13 5. Hardin 12 Others: Hardin-Jefferson (11), Nederland (9), Vidor (5), Hamshire-Fannett (4), Tarkington (3), LCM (2) Voters: Ashly Elam, Mike Canizales Interesting that Bridge City stays at 2 after losing to Baytown Sterling in 4 sets.
  14. Barbers Hill wins the Gator Classic in Dickinson not losing a set and going 6-0. Finished the day beating Elkins, #2 state ranked Foster, and 6A power Pearland. [Hidden Content]
  15. Was there updated ranking this week?
  16. BH 2-0 on the day over Sweeny and Alvin
  17. Barbers Hill 3 6A Deer Park 0 25-21 25-17 25-13 The Eagles take it to the Houston Chronicle #8 Houston area ranked Deer for the 3rd year in a row
  18. Interesting about Fulshear considering that placed behind BH in the same tournament.
  19. I saw PNG performed well but was at a very weak tournament. Looks like the Baytown schools struggled as well. The District is looking down compared to last year overall.
  20. Barbers Hill finishes 10th and as the highest finishing 5A team. Key notes - Beat Manvel in 2 and #1 5a Houston ranked Friendswood in 3 who are potential 3rd round playoff matchups Beat #3 State Ranked 5A Birdville in 3 Two of their loses were in close sets to the teams in the championship Dripping Springs and Mt St Marys. After leading 6A defending State Champ and current #1 6A Dripping Springs the Eagles fell in two close sets. Lost in 3 to Mt St Mary from Oklahoma who was 47-1 last year. 3rd match went to 25 (23-25), had it only gone to 15 as most 3rd sets do the Eagles would have won 15-13. Good showing while also learning some things. The Eagles should be state ranked next week. District foes Crosby and Nederland finished 39th and 42nd respectively. Nederland beat 44th place Bryan twice and 48th place Porter for their three wins. Crosby beat 40th place Kingwood Park, 45th place Sequin and 47th place Spring for their three wins. [Hidden Content]
  21. Dobie 3-0 over Baytown Sterling 25-14 25-14 27-25 Crosby lost to Shadow Creek but didnt see a score
  22. here is the full tournament link for the Katy/Cy Fair tournament [Hidden Content] BH, Crosby, Nederland are in the Pearland Tourney found here: [Hidden Content] Some interesting seedings, I wonder if the high school coaches decide that.
  23. lol well during a game its a penalty so I guess its ok to act a fool after the game, especially with coach Mr. Accountability. Always hedging that way he can say I told you so either way. Lets hear it, what is your prediction for this years Cougars?
  24. That outside for Columbus is committed to UTSA not Tech I believe. She is a solid player. Ally Tribe
  25. Which one so we can know who doesnt know volleyball?
