    ??? I dont get it. West Brook wins it's season opener in convincing style in a 50-7 victory over Beaumont Ozen, and we go down in the rankings. It's totally bogus if you ask me. These rankings dont mean a thing. >

    I stand corrected. After checking the updated polls, it seems that West Brook had made a jump from #12 to #9 in the Dave Campbell poll. This is the only updated poll I have been able to find. [Hidden Content]

    Nope! 5ATexasFootball.com has the Bruins ranked #25. Dave Campbell has the Bruins ranked #12. And the THSCA poll has the Bruins in at #9. These were all pre-season rankings. They might have improved since Week 0! The AP did not have the Bruins ranked in the pre-season, although all the aforementioned polls may have seen the Bruins climb in the rankings after a 43 point win over Beaumont Ozen.

    Without having seen Central play yet this season, it's hard to say. Let me just say this, West Brook beat a team last Friday night by 42 points that beat Central last year. I know, I know that was last year. But judging by what I saw last week from the Bruins, it's gonna be hard for Central to keep up. Our second string offense went into the game in the middle of the third quarter, and scored. Then in the fourth quarter, our third string offense went in and Ozen still coundn't stop them. IMO, West Brook looked like they were approaching mid-season form.......once they got rolling. I'll admit, Central SHOULD play us a better game than Ozen. But I dont think they will be able to stop the Brook! West Brook 42 Central 14

    Sorry you think I was being dis-ingenuine. I am seriously happy for Vidor and glad they got the win. Now, knock the chip off your shoulder and relax. Have fun with it, after all we've been waiting for this since last November. Again, I wasn't trying to be sarcastic.

    I agree with you in that, Ozen is definitely much improved from last year. On the flipside to that, West Brook is a much better team this year in Week 0, than last year in Week 0. If Ozen doesn't turn the ball over like 7 times, and WB doesn't turn those TO's into TD's, then the Panthers play a closer game than they did tonight. KUDOS to them, as they came out for the start of the game very enthusiastic and fired up. Ya'll are gonna win some games this year and should make the playoffs. Nice opening game.
