Once again, great stuff! Did you know that West Brook was also the first HS in Texas to win a state title as the runner-up team from their district. TJ won the district title that year. West Brook was also the first 5A team to win it's title with more than one loss (11-4-1). They were also the first 5A team to win a state title with a black head coach. As you mentioned, they were the first HS in Texas to win a state title in it's infancy in the current 64 team playoff era.

The real reason that Brook's schedule is the way it is, is because we are in a small 6 team district. Katy and Ike are also in small districts. When it came time to schedule games for weeks 3 and 4, most other teams that we might have played would already be in district play. So, we kind of had to take what we could get. Katy and Aldine Eisenhower both are in district's with six teams as well, so they were available, thus the scheduling you see.

Yes, I think they'll probably win but I dont see them holding us to just 14 points, or us giving up 52! That aint gonna happen. The score should be closer than that!

If the BISD schools did not see this coming, then they are blind as bats!!! Of course Lamar was going to stop letting high schools play at Cardinal Stadium, how else would they be able to do all the renovations to the stadium for when Lamar football starts up. Did you actually think they would work around this coming high school football season? That would put them behind 3 to 4 months for this year and possible for next year too. Lamar is trying to get football back at the most efficient way they can. They do not have the luxury of letting football be played there while they are in construction mode. Bottom line is, Ozen needs to get their own stadium, all the other BISD schools do. Now after Lamar gets the stadium back in shape and starts football back, if they don't allow high schools to play playoff games there, that would be a shame. But I would agree with not letting someone have all their home games there. but think about it aggie it was nice having the beaumont bowl at a pretty much nuetral site instead of someone having all the field advantage at their own field There are a lot of people in the area, including the Lamar Administration, that see the situation LARGER than the Beaumont Bowl. ??? what?

Let me tell you something, man! I had the pleasure of watching you guys get your butts handed to you by Waller last year. After having watched West Brook the whole season, and then watching ya'll I learned something. The speed of 5A varsity competition is just.......awesome. There's no way that Lumberton, on their best day, could keep up with and compete against some of the better 5A teams in the state. I know that Lumberton had a great season, and yes you did. I agree. There are other posters on this forum that will agree with me 100%. However, It would not be beneficial for a team like West Brook to play Lumberton in a preseason game, it just wouldn't be. There is no competition, there. That's why we're playing teams like Spring Westfield, Katy, and Aldine Eisenhower. These schools are, West Brook included, WAY out of your league. If you want to entertain the thought of your Raiders keeping up with the Bruins, well, then go ahead. But dont waste our time with such an ignorant post. If you'd quit making such stupid posts, you might get a little respect. i actually cnt wait till yall play those teams u jus named so u brook fans can shutup and realize stump was a plum fool for putting those teams on the schedule oh and i feel sorry for when yall play northshore too! yalll record is goin to be pretty bad this yr yall still make the playoffs with that weak district tho........ at least we'll make the playoffs! Your Panthers will, again, be watching from the sidelines! ;D

If Sterling can get by Channelview and one other district opponent then WB will be going D2 as Sterling has a larger enrollment. I know it seems very unlikely since they haven't made the playoffs since 1985 but these next two seasons are probably their best chance in decades to actually make it. Also, WB would not have to worry about North Shore until the 4th round of the playoffs since they're in the same district, and even then, only if they both end up in D1. ahhhh, correct. I only said that WB was going Div. 1 because I thought it would be a long shot for Sterling to make the playoffs, thus sending WB instead. I think it your 4 teams from 21-5A going to the postseason will be NS, WB, PAM, and Lee. I still dont think the Rangers will make it. All PAM has to do to make it is win 2 district games.

right!!! It was funny to see how busy the boards were when the L-Train was still playing, and how silent they became when they lost. It was nice. Then when the Willie Ray Smith Awards were announced, the boards became busy again with Raiders jockying for position to talk about their running back. Lets hope for a losing record for Lumberton next season, and maybe some peace and quiet.

. All I can say is this....at least we have a State Championship to our credit. And we did it in our first year. And for your information on LD Bell, those Raiders were 14-0-1 before they played us. I'd say they were pretty good. But of course, Lumberton could have probably beat the snot out of them, too. Huh? Battle of the Raiders. That would have been funny. My money would have been on Hurst LD Bell. I'm glad all of the Lumberton faithful aren't as goofy as you. : jeez!

I dont think either side will actually be big enough. Katy will bring thousands! There are, however, extra bleachers that can be set up near the endzones for big games like this. Hopefully they will use them!

You are correct....Saturday 5pm. The Katy 'faithful' will begin arriving and tailgating at about 2:30.....so get there early!
