  1. .....along with that, dont forget the other two big men at DE, both 6'5" and 215 lbs...Shane McCardell and Marcus Malbrough. Defense next year has only six returning starters, somewhat of a rebuilding year. I guess we're just gonna have to outscore them next year, as our offense has eight starters coming back! ;D
  2. .....someone told me that there were only 8 varsity players returning next year. Any truth to that?
  3. North Shore Division I.......Katy Division II
  4. By saying that then you'd have to give WB some credit, because we dominated the game for three and a half quarters...........BUT they are beatable! And Katy will do just that on Saturday!
  5. nobody was denying the fact that they beat us on third and long and fourth and long-pass defense, hello? All I was trying to say was that it was more than just our secondary that lost us the game. It wasn't just DC's fault, and it wasn't just the play calling. We had every opportunity to put the game away and didn't do it. And YES, had we gotten a first down on that third and three that I spoke of, it would have kept the Ranger offense off of the field......game over. All I was saying was that it was a number of things that could have been done different, and now you want to execute the DB coach for it. Please, it wasn't just HIS fault. You win as a team, and you lose as a team. Remember that. If Stump gets rid of the DB coach, I have to believe it's because he's got someone better in mind!
  6. no need for name-calling there, silly.....I think the point that was trying to be made was the lack of exposure and recognition of the teams still playing. True, Dayton is the ONLY local team still playing, and they deserve to get a little credit........I, for one, dont think our local newspaper does a very good job of bringing the stories that are worthy of printing. They still haven't printed the list of the 21-5A All District team, and we've been gone for a week. Give credit where credit's due, just leave the name calling and bad mouthing to your classmates, OK!
  7. I'm definitely curious to see how this Clements/Katy game comes out. It will let me know how well we would have done against Katy! I can tell you one thing, there's gonna be one hacked off SOB in the west end if Clements beats Katy. It'll just make our loss that much worse. 'Cause Clements was definitely beatable. We should be the ones playing Katy! >
  8. he's probably not going to fare much better with the talent that's over there! Then again, maybe they've got the talent.....maybe it's the coaching!?
  9. why do you think that.....WB's defense shut that running game down! It was our suspect pass defense that won the game for Clements! It basically came down to a third and three for us! We had the ball at about midfield with four minutes left and a 33-28 lead.....if we had gotten the first down instead of punting the ball, we could have eaten up the last couple of minutes. Instead, we call a run play that didn't work and we are forced to punt. Clements gets the ball and proceeds to drive to the other end of the field and scores. You see, joey, there are more variables to think about besides blaming the defensive coaches. They did what they thought was best at the time. I'm sure if they could do it over, things would be done alot different, and subsequently we would probably have won the game. I CAN tell you that if in the same position next year, things will be done differently. It still makes me sick, though, that we were capable of beating Clements......and Stratford.......and should be getting ready to play Katy this weekend!. BUT, it is what it is, and we cant go back to change things. All we can do at this point is look forward to next year. We will be back in the postseason next year.....and I look to go far! With eight returning starters on offense, and five or six defensive starters returning, I dont care what the district reallignment looks like, WB is going to be the team to beat. Bet on it!
  10. true......they did potentially have some of the wrong players in the secondary, certain coaches have admitted to that. BUT, it's also the up to the coaches to make sure the players are "up" for every play and every set of downs and not get relaxed when they think they've got the game in the bag. The coaches allowed the kids to get relaxed. That loss should not have happened, and WE should be playing Katy for the Region III crown. One thing I can guarantee you is that next year, if we're not up by at least.......three TD's, our coaching staff will stay aggressive so as to not let the same thing happen!
  11. Christine Michael was voted the District 21-5A MVP at the RB position. Most people dont know that because the "Beaumont Suprise" never printed the All District team, only the Baytown Sun did! >
  12. What is Goose Creek Memorial going to do to Lee's enrollment? Are there many players going over there?
  13. .....dont feel like you're the onle one's to not get any press from the "Beaumont Suprise". The first week the playoffs started, they had three high school articles and do you want to know which schools got the headlines? Give up? There were two articles on Lumberton and one on PN-G. Dont feel bad Dayton, "THe Suprise" is our home newspaper, and they didn't even cover the only Beaumont school (WB) to make the playoffs. Their coverage sucks! >
  14. very good.........do you document all of your days like that? ??? ;D ;D
  15. that would not be a bad 5A district......then it would only be between NS and WB for the district crown.....haha!
  16. GOOD LAWD, scooter! let's hope we dont end up in that district.....it would be a fight for third place in that district as Lufkin and Westfield would be the frontrunners, and Spring, Humble and WB would be fighting for the other two spots! WHEW!
  17. I'm guessing 21-5A would look something like this: West Brook, PA Memorial, One Baytown school(getting a new HS and numbers are sure to drop), I think we lose Channelview back to 4A.....as far as the other schools go, I have no idea. It wouldn't suprise me to see us getting North Shore again, and losing the two Humble schools. That UIL bunch is funny, you never know what they're gonna do. I think we'll be in a six team district again, instead of eight!
  18. ......here's West Brook pulling for you to go all the way! Go Bronco's
  19. Stowers possibly jumping ship over at Central????? It's always tough to try and start a program from scratch, just ask the Atascocita HC Dean Clobert......it wasn't as easy as he thought!
  20. Permian didn't just lose, they got whipped 38-14. This was not a good day for the state's powerhouse teams........Permian lost, as well as Southlake Carroll and Spring Westfield, who lost to Plano 31-19. Just goes to show you that anything can happen in the playoffs!
  21. ........well, this just goes to show you that if WB hadn't eased off of Clements and actually won the game last week, it could be us playing Katy in the Quarterfinals. I bet you our coaches wont allow the team to get relaxed again until the final whistle blows! Good Luck next year Bruins......it could (should)have been us there!
  22. .....maybe you folks from Lumberton could give some of these "dead-beat" fans from Beaumont some pointers on how to properly support a local HS football team i.e. West Brook fans! >
