  1. giving them a day off has been known to be good, and bad! I just hope that the guys show up on Saturday ready to play!
  2. man, I sure hope you know something I don't.....'cause judging by what I saw yesterday, we're gonna be in trouble if we come out as flat as a balloon four days after the party, again!
  3. I hope L-town advances.....if nothing more than to shut up people like C4L and COOG4 EVA....please, gimme a break.......I hate all that trash talking. Grow up and learn to speak proper English! The L-Train is gonna take ya'll to the woodshed.....err, behind the woodshed and send you limpin back to Galveston County with your tail's between your legs! Choo Choo, ALL ABOARD!
  4. .....it needs to work on more than the defense. How about showing up to the stadium with it's game face on and come out swingin'! > (game face)
  5. we seem to be coming into the game, and then making adjustments based on what the other team is doing.....which is what we're suppose to be doing. But we need to come out aggressive, take control of the game by building a two or three TD lead, and then make the other team make adjustments to what we're doing and keep them guessing. District play is over, and this conservative playcalling is not gonna get us wins in the playoffs. We need to show no mercy. if we can put 50 points on the board against a team, we need to do it........be aggressive! It's all about the "W"'s now! I dont know much about Clements, but I know if we come out flat again against then, we might as well go home before halftime, 'cause we cant keep having to play catchup and expect to win! Be aggressive, Bruins! >
  6. I have to agree with that statement for most of the year, but yesterday our cheerleaders were the most alive I've seen them this year.......and the crowd, still wasn't great, it was better than it's been all year! The farther we get in the playoffs, the fewer teams will be in it, so my thinking is the more fans we will get at our games. As far as the game on Saturday is concerned, I think we can win if our defense can shut down their running game, which shouldn't be a problem. We just have to be prepared for the unexpected plays. Most of these teams are going to be pulling out all the stops in order to stay alive, it almost cost us the game against SoHo. And another thing, forget all this conservative play calling. We need to come out this Saturday with 'guns a blazing' and be aggressive from the get go. We cant afford to get behind every week and then expect to come back and win. As far as the stadium is concerned, 12-15000 sounds good to me, and somewhere near I-10 would be a good location!
  7. I have to ask myself this question........you guys keep saying that we are a true state title contender, but with regards to SoHo's quarterback and our problem with containing hin, do you think a team like SLCarroll, or Katy would have had the same problems with him that we did. Do you think their defense would have allowed 28 points on the board? I say NO! What do teams like Katy and SLC do to prepare for opponents that we're not doing that makes them so much better against their opponents than we are? Granted, we're getting the"W"'s, but there's still alot of skeptic's out there that think we'll be done in two or three playoff games. It's not that these other teams are more athletically talented than we are. Is it coaching? What can we do to better prepare for our opponents that would eliminate any doubt that we are a true title contender? And then execute it on the field.
  8. hey guys, I found this website while on another board. Did everybody else know about this site but me?[Hidden Content]
  9. ......it reminded me of organized chaos, but still looked OK!
  10. yes, their QB is definitely Division 1 material.....he reminds me alot of Chip Ambres!
  11. ....it looked to me like our guys were running in slow motion. Maybe the fact that the field was wet had something to do with it. The rain definitely prohibited us from holding onto the ball.....we had fumbles like I haven't seen all season! Good job, anyway Bruins!
  12. Weed, I can appreciate your post, BUT in order for us to win another game we are gonna have to play four quarter football......which is something we have yet to do this season. I sincerely hope we can pull off the victory next Saturday and I'm not jumping off the train, but realistically I think it's gonna be tough for us to win!
  13. ......yes, I did see alot of Lumberton blue and thanks for coming out and supporting the Bruins. Maybe you're right 09, maybe we can give Clements a better game than we gave SoHo today. If we're gonna do that, we're gonna have to get our pass coverage better. WE GOT NO PASS DEFENSE!!!!!!!! I've been saying it all year. We are not gonna be considered a true state contender until we are able to stop the pass like we stop the run. If Clements runs the ball as much as you say, then we might have a chance......but the minute they throw the ball, we're in trouble. We got lucky today, plain and simple! We're actually gonna have to win a game instead of relying on luck to get us through.
  14. I hate to say it guys, but we're done next week! Today's game shouldn't have near as close as the score indicated. Our boys, while they won, played like crap from the opening whistle. Penalties killed several long running plays by Christian Michael. The point is, we're letting the opposition rule the game the first two and a half quarters. Then we finally decide to start playing our game about midway through the third. To be honest, I thought we were gonna lose today. The way we played in the first half today, we should have lost. We cannot continue to spot our opponents two or three TD's and then expect to come back and win the game. If we do that next week against Clements, we are gonna be done......like a Thanksgiving turkey. If we come out ready to play, I think we can hang with them. The further we get in the playoffs, the better the teams are gonna be. They are gonna be able to exploit our weaknesses and.....beat us! I dont know what to say.......maybe we can beat Clements, but realistically I say nope! Just based on what I saw today!
  15. I woke up this morning to a blood-curdling scream, and thought it must have been game time! So I got in my truck and hit the road to Baytown......so I'm sitting here all alone in this stadium waiting for someone to join me.....the sun would be nice;Weed, StoneCold, Bear....where are you at? ;D
  16. Raider fans.....dont pay any attention to patitan 'cause he's CRAZY! I think his ambulance must have flipped over! You guys just go to Stallworth and play your game, and you might suprise a few folks. LaMarque is a tough team that is playoff tested, but I believe you guys can hang with them, and maybe pull off an upset! Good Luck next week, L-Train! CHOO CHOO! ;D
  17. .....but it looks like Lumberton is gonna draw LaMarque next week! ANOTHER Lumberton TD!
  18. Good Job Raiders....looks like a clean sweep for 22-4A. PN-G won 33-0, Dayton was winning big, and the L-Train in gonna win! Congrats to all of our local prep teams that won/ or are gonna win tonight! ;D
  19. very clever..... ;D I like it!
