  1. West Brook 34 Longview 33. Final
  2. Had to leave the game at the half, to go get my daughter. Let's go Brook!
  3. West Brook 14, Longview 14. half
  4. 6:35 left, West Brook 14, Longview 14.
  5. 10:51 left in the half, Longview 14, West Brook 7.
  6. 7-7, as the Bruins march right down the field to get the score back.
  7. 7-0 Lobos, after their first possession. Bruins to get the ball in the second half.
  8. Until WB proves that we can once again play with the Katy's, and The Woodlands, I'm going to continue to be hard on Brook. We have the talent to play with anybody in the state, we just get held back by coaching. For us to win 9 games, this season, is a huge accomplishment. But, if we can't do anything in the playoffs, it's all smoke and mirrors.
  9. Well, it's true I've not been a huge fan of the current coaching staff. True, they did finish 9-1, but other than playing the Woodlands, our schedule was pretty weak. I'm proud of their record, but I still don't have much faith in winning by out coaching an opponent. Do I think they'll beat the Lobos, my gut feeling days no. But, I didn't think they'd win 9 games, this season, so I'd love.to be wrong, once again.
  10. What do we know about Longview, and what's it going to take for he Bruins to get the win?
  11. Closer than it should have been. but, Flanagan , and the Bruins win 8 games in a season. A first for this evening regime. Kudos. let's win the 9th, next week!
  12. Dang, Brook ? Another Jekyll and Hyde team. SMH .
  13. Wow! Last week, Brook sets a school record by giving up the most points in school history, in a 72-7 loss to the Woodlands, and this week they set another school record for the most points scored in a game, in a 70-63 win against Lufkin! Did basketball season starts already?
  14. He could handle Orangefield, and even Crosby. But, he is in way over his head, in Big Boy 6A football. Being mediocre won't win at this level.
  15. The Highlanders are clearly too much for the Bruins. Getting out coached, out schemed, and out played. On to next week, Bruins.
  16. Bud, the teams WB has played have a 9-25 record, collectively. Only one of them has a winning record, and that's Montgomery, at 4-2. I guess the quality of wins isn't what I would want it to be, and when we actually play a quality team, like Lufkin, or the Woodlands, I don't expect us to be on the same page. Maybe I'm way off, and we'll beat one of the aforementioned teams left on the schedule. The way I see it, we'll finish 8-2, which is a huge step in the right direction. Especially, for this staff. But, until we can beat teams like that, I don't think we'll get the respect that we've had in the past. Still, starting the season 6-0, is a huge accomplishment, and something I wasn't expecting. So, huge kudos to the kids, and the staff.
  17. I've got The Woodlands by as much as they want. I love my Bruins, but they haven't played anybody worth a crap. This will be WB's first real game, against a real team. I think Brook will go 2-2, over the next 4, with losses to Lufkin, and the Highlanders.
  18. Just so some of you know, if memory serves me correctly, one of the last times WOS, and WB played, would have been at Cardinal Stadium, on a Saturday in September, somewhere around 1991, or 1992. I remember because WOS was ranked #1, in 4A, and the Bruins were unranked. WB went on to win the game 41-10, and knocked the Mustangs from the #1 spot. I believe this was the last time the two teams met. Subsequently, WB went on to finish that season 10-0, and was ranked #4 in 5A at the end of the season. Moral of the story. I seriously don't think WB, or WOS, would benefit from playing each other.
