You guys know I'm an outsider, so I don't know the history of the Super, or the racism or anything else that has been mentioned here.... But I do have an opinion about a few of the issues.... I think WB is going to struggle to get an established coach to take over.... First of all, on the football field this team is going to struggle over the next couple of years based on what I saw coming back.... I thought at times this year Stump may have been unfairly criticized (Coach and QB) but that comes with the job....  They will also struggle to find a veteran coach because of the facility situation on campus.... No field house is a big deal, regardless of who says it isn't.... The Butch is as nice as they get, but it only helps on game day....  It will have to be someone who is moving up the ranks or someone who is looking for more money.... On the SETX Sports Show on KSET AM1300 at 3:00, I'll throw a name or two out there, a couple of them have been mentioned on this thread.... I'm interested to see how it plays out....
These are both valid points, and as much as I would like to see a reputable coach come in and take over, no coach worth a darn is going to be willing to take over this program, knowing what he's up against. Just sayin.....
Save the crocodile tears for the locker room forum.  Very  typical to try and place the blame on Dr. Thomas.  Even in the Walker case, the connection that 'you' have been looking for between him and the defendant have not been made yet.  smh...  ::)
Im glad you stuck the word "yet" in there. Cause guess what, its coming!
 3.

Sgt. Reye only gave the political answer.  There is always 2 sides to this.  Schools on the other side of I-10?  Please.  I believe Regina Howell and Amilia were the first to get brand new facilities.  Jeolouse of the West Brook Program?  For what?  Is there a state championship banner from the last 20 years?  No.  The facilities are horrible?  They are that way because the hater electrical contractor get mad and prompted a stop work order.  Central's field  house project almost met the same faith as well.  The only thing I see is that the old WB coach make a bunch of excuses.  Knew they will not be that good for a few years.  His son will be graduating.  Blah, blah, blah.  I still say good riddance.
The political answer?...do you know me to be political?...Regina and Amelia were first....do you wanna go inside and see the guinea pigs?...go compare it to French...or try..you don't have that eye ball or experience, it's like picking small schools for you... Everything points to SUP/BISD...you wanna blame the tax payers?  If you're the top payed Superintendent in the STATE...there is little room for error...TAKE A PAY CUT, then we can listen to excuses...BUT don't protect the SUP because he's black, hold him accountable for the position he holds...I don't care if the Superintendent is from the Mexico...you feel fine knowing the guy is black and in power...I don't care what color he/she is...just do what's right with the power...you don't by your lead maintanance guy a freaking Loaded out F350 to check job site.. W.T.F (why the fuss  ;D)??  Then he goes to the club to get his drink on...etc... The SUP wasn't driving? so let's retire the guy with full benefits?  W.T F?  YES I said the other side of I-10...I also said if the shoe fits...apparently it fit you.
Again, I agree with you 100%. Thank you for telling it like it is.
 4.
Let me see if I'm understanding this correctly - It's being said that Ozen holds the magic button to determine how WB's season will go? If all of the "talent" is at Ozen, how in the heck have we not made it the State Championship since our existence? Maybe had Stump been the coach at Ozen and mixed all of that in with the "talent" then we'd have a playoff banner for each year?
;)
 5.
WB doesn't have much coming back....for the next 3 yrs...I've seen it...So, don't say there's talent there... I think someone said something about BISD not wanting WB to have a successful program(in not so many words)...so, they pushed out a Coach....SMALL EXAMPLE: A Scaffold that was sitting in Durley, that Coach Stump wanted to be used on the practice fields for filming....a request was submitted for maintenance to move the scaffold...one year and a half later, it's still there....I moved it in 15 minutes! Is it a black and white thing?  Don't know, but if the shoe fits.... however you want to perceive it.  I really could care less...WB's facilities are absolutely terrible...I do believe people's thoughts are, "that's the west end, they got money"...not the point...why wasn't WB demolished and built back in 6 months?  But we can build 3 elementary schools in 6 months on the other side of town....we just wanted a field house in 6 months...just one....yeah, I know...education is first right?...go ahead and believe that was the mentality... When it's not a problem on the other side of I-10, it's no big deal...THAT'S BISD's PROBLEM!!  sugar coat it however you want....there's still no field house...WB is a mess...ALL this could have been done over the summer...they did some BS renovation to a couple of offices and RR's...I was embarrassed to be apart of it.... The locked pointless preseason schedule....W. T . F. (why the fuss  ;D)?!!  IT'S A WASTE OF TWO GAMES!!  THAT's WHY WE HIT A CULTURE SHOCK WHEN WE SEE KATY IN WEEK 3!!  the jealousy of WB's Football program  by BISD progressively kills the program!  so...STOP transfers, lock preseason schedule until "WB looses to both schools"(evil laughs by BISD)...If it looks like crap and smells like crap...you form ur opinion...to me it is crap... ;)..just sayin... Coach Stump did a good job here, and moved at the right time...I can't blame him...good luck. Bring in the next guy...ASAP!!
Sarge, while we have had our differences and we dont always see eye to eye, i couldn't agree with you more. You hit the nail on the head 100%. People want to sit there and believe that all 3 HS's get the same treatment, but it just isn't true. WB has been the red-headed stepchild of the district since, oh, about 1997! I cant make this stuff up, people. Yeah, we got a nice stadium out of the deal, with a jacked up name, but WB is still not considered to be a team to be reckoned with in Region 3. All the examples that were listed above are valid reasons why we have been "just average" in 5A football. I have said it before, I dont believe the district, under its current way of conducting business, is set up to support a championship winning football tradition. The field house, the weight room.....these are just a few examples of why things arent working.
 6.
Maybe Carroll Thomas??!!  LOL!!  :D
We should be so lucky. Humble ISD wouldnt allow it! LOL!
 7.
all do respect you are wrong...I was a an assistant who saw everything...I will be graduating from Lamar this spring but was allowed o coach on that staff...I like the new guy he was a figure head and did not run the program..I can't speak for is time at the brook but I know he won every year up until ozen opened up..
You keep saying this, but he was only Head Coach for 1 year when Ozen opened up. That was 1997, and he took WB to the quarterfinals with Chip Ambres at QB. The Bruins lost to Hastings.....I was on the sidelines! After that year, the program took a sharp decline. Hentschel saw the writing on the wall....when Ozen opened up, alot of those kids that lived in the Pear Orchard neighborhood, moved to Ozen. The Pear Orchard has always been where WB has gotten most of their talent, clear back to when it was Hebert. It most definitely had alot to do with the decline at WB. Rabb's offense was successful for many years, as long as he had the personnel to run it. When the talent dried up, that offense became inneffective. The records speak for itself during the "dark" years when Wb was the doormat of the district.
Maybe the Vidor coach will apply ;)
Why, so he can wreck his career? Vidor, at this point, has better facilities, a school board and administration that more straight laced, and much better pride and community support. Stay in Vidor, Coach Matthews. ;)
What does the 'School Board' have to do with wins/losses on the football field?
Alot! First, they determine a coach's salary, for one. If you aren't willing to pay Gary Joseph/Todd Dodge money, you aren't gonna get Katy/SLC results, ie State Championships. Two, what coach worth a darn, is gonna be willing to come to 'good ole boy' BISD, and try to win with a program that doesnt have the budget of a 3A school?! The trainer, at WB, has had the same budget to buy all the supplies that he needs to keep players healthy for an entire season, that he has had for the last 10 years. Basically, he has not gotten any more money in 10 years. I know for a fact, that for the last few seasons he has had to get what was left over from Central and Ozen, when the regular season was over, just to have enough supplies to make it through the playoffs. When you look at the big picture, as a whole, BISD and WB is not a very attractive place that one would want to go. Other that the fact that WB has a state title that was won 30 years ago, there's not much of a chance that WB will get a decent coach, unless they gamble on another unknown. Just sayin....

 11. Anything running around the rumor mill as to who the replacement might be? If Stump wants to leave, let him. I dont blame him. BISD is not set up to consistently put a football team in the 4th, 5th or final round of the playoffs. Its just not. Period. They dont have the coaching, the facilities, the funding, and the community support. Compared to the great programs in the state....Katy, SL Carroll, Lake Travis, Converse Judson, ect., WB and BISD fall way short. BISD is gonna be hard pressed, IMO, to find another quality coach that will be willing to come in here, and win with what is available. Stump is given alot of credit for giving life to a stagnant program, when he took over on 05. But he's also gonna be given most of the blame for the program taking a nosedive this season. 6-5. Really? I'm still pissed about it, thus the main reason I havent posted anything on here in 2 months. Anyway, if he wants to leave.....dont let the door hit ya, where the Good Lord split ya! Good luck in Atascocita!
 12. The talent has always been there. Coaching is the Bruins biggest problem. They haven't been a successful program since Chris Coleman left for Jasper. Under his regime, WB was a top notch program. Coach Simon, I love him to death, but he's not getting the job done. Its time for a change on the hardwood.
 13. Man, after going back and looking at some of the records....WOW, is all I can say. West Brook is sitting at 4-8, with its only wins over 3A and 4A schools? WTH? Why has this program been on a steady decline over the past few years. Is is coaching? Is it the lack of player talent? I remember a time when WB was in the 3rd or 4th round of the playoffs, and winning district titles every year! In fact, my senior year at WB, we went 32-4, and lost in the state quarterfinals to Houston Milby! Whats going on over at the Brook?
 14. Congratulations on the awesome run, Titans. You have made SETX and 21-5A proud. This was a historic season, that fell just a bit short of the ultimate goal. Nonetheless, we are very proud of you. Give it another shot next year.
 15. Memorial has got to stop giving up the big play. 2 plays of 75+ yards ain't gonna get it done! Come on, Titans!
 16. Judging by the scouting report that I've read, Steele is going to get their points. PAM is going to have to keep pace with them, and hope they get a defensive stop, or two. I predict a high scoring game....42-37 PAM.
 17. Are we still talking about this, people? Its like bearing a dead horse.....its time to let it go!
 18.
Somebody is just being a jealous HATER! Congrats to PAM.....
 19. Well, who is PAM gonna see in the state semi's......Cibolo Steele or SA Reagan? I vote it will be Steele.
 20.
4 a and 5 a coaches pay attention out there in the golden t
;) yes....please take notes. THIS!
