1.
I like the Bruins because of the potential on offense to score quite a few points.... I said it during the broadcast last week, there is a lot of unfair criticism of Stump.... He had to run a few more times than maybe you would like to see, but I thought he did his job well against Central.... Don't turn it over and make a play when it is needed.... Central shut down Percy Johnson and Stump had to take on a greater role.... Looking forward to seeing this one from the booth on Friday....
Well said, sir. This years squad reminds me alot of the 2009 team. They started out a bit slow on offense, but they improved every week and we went on to win district and two playoff games before bowing out in the third round. I really like our chances against IKE. Now, Katy......well, we'll worry about Katy next week. ;D
2.
WB 21 IKE 7; WB will show improvement in the Passing game.
I like the way you think! ;)
3. Ike has played NS and FB Hightower, and is 1-1 in those contests. If we continue to see the same level of improvement that we saw from Week 0 to Week 1, I think we can beat them. But as Soulja said, we are going to have to get the passing game going in order to keep defenses guessing as to what our next play will be. Our defense, I believe, will be our strength in upcoming games until the offense comes up to speed. As I said, I like our chances but we're going to have to come out "swinging", so to say, just to stay in the game. IKE is typically loaded with D1 talent, and has the ability to win games on talent alone. That said, we have our work cut out for us, but I think we can win this game......Imma say 19-17.  ;)
4.
Getting mauled by Katy brings more to your program? You're kidding right? Lol October 21st make sure our trophy is nicely buffed and polished.
No, I'm not kidding. Seeing what Katy brings to the table will more than prepare us for what PAM will bring. ::)
5. What Katy brings to the table will definitely be more than PAM brings, and will subsequently do more for our program. Just sayin....
6. We are done with the 4A schools. On with the big boys of 5A. Hope your scheduling works in your favor. LMAO! :D
7. Soulja, your post regarding the game was dead on. :) You have a great way of putting things into perspective without stepping on peoples toes. I couldn't have said it better, myself. Very well said.
8. My point is this....ya'll are doing a fine job of beating up on 4A teams. But, if memory serves me correctly, ya'll had a little trouble in district last year. Some thought it was because of the creampuff preseason schedule. Do you think your preseason schedule helps, or hurts your team?
9.
Brook wins 20-14.  Beaumont Bowl stays in the West End, but Central has more talent than Brook for the first time in years.  Brook was lucky to win that one.
Superior coaching prevails! ;)
10.
Will y'all play Ike? Death on the team.
I dont know. I was wondering about that, myself. I would imagine we'll still play the game, but..... They played NS tonight, err, got smoked by NS tonight. I think we'll play the game, regardless.
11.
Next up ALICE.
Isn't Alice another 4A team? Just sayin....
12.
Ozone--King Carroll Thomas' pride and joy-hah!
ROFLMAOTIWMP! ;D
13. WW! Great win, Kelly! EC is typically a great football team. Ya'll got a good group this year.
14. There.....how was that post? Was that better? ;) I'm here to support my team. And admittedly, I'm pretty hard on the kids. But, I'm also one of the first one's to give them props, too. Good job on the win, Bruins. Lets smack IKE in the mouth next week, too.
15. Lets see, where to begin.....well, a win is a win, and we'll take it. Offensively, we looked better than we did a week ago. I'm seeing more consistency with moving the ball, and I like that....but we're still not where we need to be. We've got to be able to put complete drives together, and finish them before stalling out. Our O-line didn't seem to provide much protection in giving Stump time to throw the ball. It looked to me like he took off running alot, once he was flushed out of the pocket. However, on more than a few occasions, his running ability kept some drives alive. Defensively, we looked better this week, as well. With the exception of giving up the occasional long run, our defense kept us in this game tonight. Although, I dont remember seeing us blitz at all the entire game. These games are only going to get tougher from here on out. Our offense still seems to be a bit one-dimensional, but we're making progress on that and seem to be getting better. Hopefully, the rest of out preseason schedule will get us better prepared for district play, but we need to stay healthy. If we can do that, I think we'll be competitive. ;)
16. LMBO! kudos to Craig Stump for calling out the BISD school board on the Tailgate Party...."we dont even have a place to hang our hat, and no building to put the trophy in."
17.
how about: [move]Da' Butch Bowl[/move]
likes this! ;D
18. Uhhhh, that just now posted? Ha, I posted that before I left the stadium.
19. Game ain't over, yet. Central QB Mitchell just scampered 53 yards for the TD. Bruins still ahead 20-14.
20. 28 yard FG by Bruins. Brook leads 20-7....4:22 left in the game.
21. Percy Johnson to the house on a 70+ yard TD reception from Stump. Bruins lead 17-7.
22. Bruins dodged a big bullet there. Central misses a 39 yard FG attempt. Bruins take over on downs. Still lead 10-7 in the third.
23. Dang! Ozen is making PAM look like a powerhouse! LMBO! ;D
24.
Who ran the Kick off back?
Keelan Martin.....the kid's got some wheels! :)
25. This game may turn into a Beaumont Bowl of old.....when the games were decided by 3 points or less. Remember those days. Bruins lead 10-7 at the half. Thank the Lord!
