1. We'll know more once district starts. But if I had to guess, It looks like they will be going D1. Which means if we win 21-5A, and they win 19-5A.....then we would see them again in the third round.
 2.
Good game brook ... Congrats to katy on the win.. I'm going say and be done with it katy got lucky plain and simple. WB is the real deal with bruce reyes this kid is amazing I'm proud to be a bruin. Time to get ready for next week GO GET 'EM BROOK.....
The thing that bothers me the most, was how much the offense fell off without Reyes in there. That is not good, folks. I mean, Stump had problems running the option (one of our turnovers). When your offense is built around one person, and that person is not there anymore, problems can arise. Based on what I was told at the game, Reyes will be fine. Had Katy not come out after the half and scored those quick 10 points, (again on turnovers) I think he might have gotten back in the game. But after that, it was like, "whats the point"? Let #8 get some playing experience. WB, I hope, learned alot from this game. I believe we will be able to apply it to the rest of the season. Pick your chins up, guys. There's still alot of football to play.

WB will be fine.
I agree. He doesn't have the poise that Reyes has. That, and timing, comes with experience.
It was a tough night to get tested
Yeah, it was. Katy was just a better team tonight. Plain and simple. They didnt make mistakes. And when you play mistake-free football, your chances of winning increase dramatically.

 5. It looked like he bruised his shoulder when he ended up on the bottom of the pile. I think he will be OK.
 6. OK, let me just start out by saying this...Katy is the real deal. Plain and simple. WB's game plan was not wrong, IMO, but when you turn the ball over 5 times in the first half, and they score on all those TO's....that was the equalizer here folks. WB could play with this team. In the first half, they could not drive the field against us. WB, on the other hand, was moving the ball fairly well against the state's best defense. The game changed when Reyes went down. Stump was not ready to face a defense like Katy's, and it showed when he tried to run the offense. Reyes will be OK, and will probably be back next week against Lee. My hats off to Katy, ya'll were the best team tonight. I would have like to have seen what we might have been able to do against ya'll if Reyes hadn't gotten hurt. Katy was able to capitalize on our mistakes and fumbles, and that is what makes them one of the state's premier teams. Katy will win the state title this year, IMO. Bruins will be fine, and will live to play another day.
 7. Leaving the house to start the tailgating. Will be back on here to post after we watch the Bruins "dance with the devil!" ;D
 8. Terrible tragedy. Definitely puts things into perspective.

The West Brook defense suffered some injuries on Saturday.  Both starting cornerbacks will be out for the Katy game.  I won't pick against WB, but a hard game just got harder.
Guess what, gang? I just found out that, not one, but BOTH of our starting corners will be in pads and be game ready tomorrow! As it turn out, the injuries were mainly superficial, and both CB's will play against Katy! Mark it down, skywrite it, or post it in the field house.....I dont care what you do with the information, but be ready. The Bruins will be hittting on ALL cylinders tomorrow at The BUTCH! ;D And they want to win!
That's great! I hope nobody on the WB team is hurt. I hope they are all healthy. That way when Katy wins they won't make excuses and post on here that this is why we lost. Let's make a deal win or lose nobody get on here and make excuses afterwards why they lost. I don't want to here the refs weren't calling it, or our players were hurt and didn't play this game, etc... You win then you were the best team, you lose and you just got beat. Plain and simple. No excuses after the game please!
Classy post, westie!
 10. I think the Bruins might just be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat against Katy. Would that be an upset?

 12.
I am going to make a prediction. Tomorrow night at 10:00 pm  WB will no longer be ranked 6th in the State of Texas nor 45th in the United States of America. The only question left to answer is whether they will be ranked 1th thru 4th in the State and crack the top 20 in the nation.
LOL! :D I like your optimism!
 13. This was posted on the 5A board to remind us of things to come. I was there.....it was not pretty. [Hidden Content]
 14.
Well just got back from the sophomore/JV Katy/WB game.  WB got spanked by all the Katy Teams!!  We won big on all games. The only reason WB scored 6 points was because we had our 3rd stringers in there and it happen in the 4th quarter. If all our teams scored that BIG what do you think our varsity team with all the best players will do? Look up the scores son we took out baby bear and momma bear. Saturday it's on to poppa bear. It's coming WB you wanted it you got it. Saturday is time to handle our business as usual. SGT Reyes you know it's just smack talk all in fun but I will be there early with my family and I look forward to meeting you. I for one am also Mexican so you won't be the only one there. I'm bringing the Bruin Burgers to grill at the tailgate. ;D
::)
 15. I'll be here to congratulate the Bruins or Tigers, and give my synopsis of the game.
 16. WOW! Man, thats cool. This is the first time that West Brook has ever been ranked in the Top 50 in the nation!
 17.
We have so many great backups that Katys sophomore/J.V. team is stacked as well. WB will get the "FIRST" taste of our sophomore/J.V. Tigers butt kicking on Thursday. When they see how good the Katy sophomore/J.V. team beats "baby bear" and "momma bear" they'll wonder what the Varsity team is going to do to "poppa bear"!                             Bears Open Hunting Season Starts 9/18/10.  HAPPY HUNTING TIGERS!
Classy post. ::)
 18. Since it appears alot of local schools have their bye week this week, we would love to see ya'll in attendance at The BUTCH Saturday night to support West Brook as the Bruins and the Tigers get it on in what is sure to be a game full of highlights! Come support the Brook!
 19.
I'll be at the PAM game... ;D
Shut yo mouf!
 20.
I read on the 5A blog that they have 59 seniors, compared to Brook's 47 varsity players.   Can that be true?
I thought it was 69? Yes this is true. They will have anywhere from 80-95 players on the sidelines.Its quite impressive to see, actually. They have as many as three backups for EVERY position on the field. They win alot of their games by truition. They are able to stay alot fresher towards the end of the game when the other team is wearing down. This is what makes them such a second half team. That and, great coaching adjustments during halftime. I wish WB would adopt a philosophy similar to that. Imagine what we could do if we could keep 11 fresh sets of legs in the game for every series.
 21.
I would like to see West Brook do well but I am picking Katy by at least 2 touchdowns. They are always solid at every position. Not too many mistakes for teams to take advantage of.
Not only are they solid at every position, they win alot of their games by sheer numbers. THey have as many as 3 backups at every position. And they are constantly rotating in fresh players throughout the game. So when your offense or defense starts to wear down late in the game, Katy is still fresh. This is why, IMO, Katy is such a second half team. THis is the time of the game when they do the most damage.
