Don't forget about Dickinson. They were also suppose to beat West Brook, with that suppressing defense they had. Brook beat them 49-31. By the time West Brook had climbed out of Region 3, and made it past Judson, beating the Blue Raiders of Bell seemed anticlimactic. The 14-0-1 Raiders were suppose to beat the Bruins. but by then our defense was terribly good, and we shut them down, 21-10. That put West Brook on the map. Those games are fun to watch. I have the playoff games from that season on tape. Go Brook!

I hope we can catch them off guard, and come at them with not just the sink, but the whole damn kitchen. Their defense is damn good. Our kids are going to have to play at their level best, and throw in a few trick plays, to keep up. It wouldn't be unheard of for a R3 school to beat a R4 school, like Westlake.

Haven't heard, but I asked the very same question, watching him sit on the sidelines during the first quarter. Someone suggested he put the "I" in TEAM, but I haven't heard specifics.

He made the All State team, along with Jerry Ball, and Gerald Landry.

For the Bruins to win this game, theyre going to have to have an excellent game plan, excellent offensive, and defensive execution, and even have some luck. Luck just like this play from the last time the Bruins were in the semifinals.....catching lightning in a bottle! Watch....

Soulja, you crazy, bro! No way West Brook wins by 14. Westlake is by far the best team we have seen since NS. It's going to take our key players playing way above their norm, not making any mistakes, having some lucky breaks go our way, and for the Chaps to mess up huge. I'm not saying this game isn't winnable for us, I'm just saying on paper, Westlake is better. That being said, I would love for our kids to prove me wrong. They have the talent to win the whole damn thing, but they're going to have to have the right game plan, and some luck, to get it done.

This seems to be thw truth, most of the time, and I love your slight handed optimism. But, for West Brook to get the win, I think Westlake is going to have to have a poorly executed game, with poor game plan, and Brook is going to have to be on point with their execution, not make any mistakes, and have some luck, too. I think this is where the ride ends, but I could be wrong. In fact, I would love to be wrong. -

They looked good. Better than the last two weeks, for sure. Good game plan by the coaches, and decent execution by the kids. On to the semifinals. -

Come on, Eagles! -
Wow! Could the stars be aligning for the Bruins to possibly win it all? Interesting phenomenon.

And if West Brook shows up prepared, with a good game plan, with focused kids, then they absolutely are the better team, on paper. Crossing fingers that all plays out like they predict. -
Agreed.

On paper, West Brook is the better team. If the kids show up focused, ready to play, with the right game plan in place, then I think this is a very winnable game, this week. However, if they show up playing with no sense of urgency, and dig themselves into a hole, again, then this could be the last game for them.
-
Say what you want, dude, but I stand by what I said. At that time, their coaching decisions did stink. The last two weeks, the kids have been totally unprepared to start the game. I give credit where credit is due, but i call it like I see it. Their game plan to start the last 2 games stunk, and subsequently fell behind. However, they made some decent in game adjustments, and were able to get the kids to rally back, and get the win. The things that I have said, are nothing different than other posters have said, i just say it with a little less tact. Whooptedoo. You dont like what I say, keep scrolling. Its that simple, Tiger2010.

I think Peevey was a good hire, and the players love him. I'm not sure who everyone is talking about, but I think he's done a good job, as a whole. There have been some questionable coaching decisions, but that happens anywhere. No coach is perfect, and no team is perfect. However, if a person points out the lack of apparent gameplan, and the fact that the defense wasn't up to par, and had to play from behind the last two weeks, as an attack on the coaching staff. Well, that's your problem. The fact of the matter is this, the kids weren't ready to play, and found themselves in a 21 point hole to start out. However, they made the necessary adjustments, and were able to get the win. My point is if they enter this game with the same seemingly lackadaisical start, West Brook may not be able to come back. I would rather see them come out strong, and not have to play from behind. But, what do I know?

Yes, 1997 was the las time. Chip Ambres was the QB, and we lost to Alief Hastings, in the Astrodome. If West Brook wins this game against Cypress Creek, and Brook is favored to win, it will mark only the 2nd time theyve madevit to the state semifinals. The only other time they made it this far, was the 1982 season, when they won the whole thing. -
Hopefully, we'll get Troy Yoeman back, this week. Not only is he a decent backup QB, but he is a great punter/kicker, as well.
-
Yes sir. Looking at their stats, it looks like they throw the ball.....ALOT! The defense is going to have to show up for this one.
-
Calpreps has it West Brook 41 Cy Creek 26. And yes, for Gods sake, our defense has to show up, and play. Also, at this level, we simply cannot afford to spot a team 21 points, and expect to come back and win. That foolishness has to stop. The coaches have got to do a better job of preparing those kids to do battle. Cy Creek will bring the house, and they will be ready. I dont care that their record is 8-5. They didnt get here by accident. We need to make them adjust to us, not vice versa.

Welp, North Shore beat Katy! Can West Brook beat Tompkins, and make it a 21-6A sweep? Challenge accepted, Bruins! -
