  1. Hey, quit trying to blow your own horn. ;D Remember, Bruce might not have been named the starter if Paul Falgout had not gotten numerous concussions. Paul would have most likely been the starter.
  2. All I know is that Brook is in trouble. I hope they don't get exploited too much for the Katy game... ;) I heard that! The problem is, we might get exploited by either of a couple of schools before we get beat down by Katy. Yes SgtRey, I know Bruce is very talented, but he has not seen a snap of varsity competition......especially at the QB position. It's going to take a few weeks for everything to fall into place, and we might have a pretty good team in the making, but we haven't done anything yet. Rankings are nice, but they dont mean a thing when it comes to winning games.
  3. Ya'll just wait and see the new RB we have in store for ya'll......no, it's not Jeremy Cooper!
  4. Coach Durley never coached at Forest Park. He was the HC at Hebert, and became the HC for West Brook when Hebert merged with Forest Park.
  5. OMG! Who comes up with this stuff? I bet they put all the teams on a Twister wheel and spin......whoever the needle hits first, is the #1 ranked team. What a joke. It's almost as bad as the 5A poll......... Where's Central on that poll? Last year they are a state quarterfinalist, and this year PN-G and Lumberton are ranked, in the state poll and in the Region 3 poll, and the Jags aren't? "Something stinks in suburbia!"
  6. unless micheals little brother get as good as him WB will struggle for sometime to come... OMG, you never cease to amaze me at some of the ignorant things that you say. Last years team was not about a one-man team. True, Michaels was an offensive threat, and he has gone on to bigger and better things....but he was not ALL of the offensive production. I can tell you, his brother is not as good as he was. Like Bear said, this year is going to be about getting a young team some experience and preparing for the 2010 season. We will be OK this year, and we will lose some games. Our defense is definitely going to be one of our strong points this year, and with some experience at the skill positions, we should be in good shape for the playoffs. Stick around and see what the 2010 team looks like, cause from what I hear and see, we are gonna give some teams a run for their money. And NO, we will not be struggling for sometime...as you say. We are young and inexperienced, but we're gonna be OK this year.
  7. No real suprises there.....except for West Brook. A preseason #33 state ranking is too high......we want to fly under the radar.
  8. I cant believe we are actually entertaining this thread. I stand behind my Bruins no matter what the situation. Most of you that know me will tell you that I am a straight shooter and I call them like I see them. I mean nothing bad when I say this, but West Brook will get spanked by Katy....especially since the game is being played at their house. We might be able to play with them for the first quarter or so, but they will eventually adjust to our game plan and will shut us down. Typical Katy football.......I predict Katy 42 West Brook 10.
  9. WOW! You're pretty optimistic aren't you? I could see a Beaumont school going 4-6 with that schedule. Geez!
  10. I dont think there would be State Championship predictions for one reason: It would never work in Beaumont because the best coaches wouldn't get hired, and the best players wouldn't be on the field. Race and the 'Buddy' system would get in the way of having a top notch program.
  11. Unfortunately, this is also a sad but true fact
  12. The board knows that you're just there to spy on the Pups.......
  13. I expect to see a good game, nonetheless!
  14. Well, Ozen and WB will be running identical offenses this season, if it makes you feel better. If they're not at Ozen, then where are all the good athletes at these days? It's surely not in the West End. I still believe that there is plenty of talent in the Pear Orchard, and I believe Nelson will utilize it beautifully.
  15. OK, lemme rephrase that. When was the last time Ozen had a decent QB?....never mind! You are absolutely right, we lost our original QB (Paul Falgout) due to injury in spring ball. The kid that will be calling the signals is a young, inexperienced, unathletic, immature Junior named Bruce Reyes. He is no threat so you dont have to worry about remembering his name. Feel better ozenfinest@1906? I can go on if you wish.......
  16. Ozen STILL doesn't have a QB!!!!! West Brook should win......maybe not as easily as last years 50-7 rout, but the Brook should come out of Zaharius 1-0!
  17. That would throw a wrench in the plans. No, it would make Dave Campbell look like a dunce! LOL!
  18. I agree with you......7-3 sounds about right to me. Again, I think the only bumps in the road will be Westfield, Katy, and NS. I keep hearing everyone preaching about Brook's inexperience........the system has been in place for 5 years now, and the kids know the system. You can throw the inexperience factor out the window after the first TD of the season is scored. Care to take a friendly wager on the Sept 4 game, Soulja? Lets do it! If Central wins, I'll wear a Brook shirt at one of yall games.... If Central wins, I have a Jag shirt ( I think you will look good in maroon and gray) to one of our games. 8) 8) I'm down!!!!! Just in case I end up having to wear a CHS shirt (gulp!), can I put in a request for a black one? Maroon is not a very flattering color....especially on me! It will clash with my blue and red! LOL!!!
  19. No, Christian Louis graduated last year. A new kid by the name of Bruce Reyes, who will be a junior, will be calling the signals for the Bruins this year. Expect to see great things from this talented young man this season!!
  20. I agree with you......7-3 sounds about right to me. Again, I think the only bumps in the road will be Westfield, Katy, and NS. 21. I wouldn't bet the farm on these district predictions. They are a joke. They picked WB third, and they didn't even spell the schools name correctly. West Brook is spelled as two words, not one. We'll see whose standing at the top of the 21-5A "heap" when it's all said and done. North Shore will be at the top, but I'd be really suprised if PAM finished ahead of the Bruins. I'm not saying it cant accidentally happen, but I'd wouldn't bet on it!
