  1. We're 0-2 lifetime against them. And I dont see that changing any time soon.
  2. Sign me up, I LIKE IT! It does two good things, IMO. 1) It puts WB in Region 2, instead of Region 3....and we wont have to play Katy. 2) It puts us in Division 2, instead of Division 1....and we wont have to play Katy!
  3. I think the fact that he came from Permian, should give some of you an indication of how "tradition enriched" this coach can be. If there is one other program in this state that is more storied and rich in tradition than PN-G, it has to be Odessa Permian. I wouldn't worry about that aspect of it, I think he'll "get it." I believe ya'll got the best coach for the job.
  4. Congrats NDN's on your new HC. Sounds like he was the right man for the job, and I believe he will bring PN-G back where it needs to be.
  5. As I said in my first post to this topic on page three, Stump doesn't really need the money. His wife works for one of the local refineries and does pretty well for herself. I honestly believe it came down (if it was really an issue) to the fact that he knows what he's got at Brook and he knows what kind of teams that we have coming through in the next couple of years. His son was the QB for the 9th grade team that went unbeaten this season, and I believe he wants to coach his sons. It was probably a combination of things that helped him made the ultimate decision, not just the money.....IMO! Good luck to PN-G in their quest for the right HC. Give it to they guy who obviously wants the job really bad. Give it to Garrett!
  6. Then it's obvious to me that they dont want him, and that's fine!
  7. BISD is planning to break ground on their new stadium sometime next month. Unfortunately, it wont be ready for football for nearly two years. It will be one of the nicest facilities in the state, and will easily rival any of the local stadiums in the area. Stump knows whats coming. Hope he likes playing on Saturdays a few times a year and sharing the complex with the other Beaumont Schools. He could come to PNG and have his very own. Playing on Saturdays is not even an issue. In fact, we have played at least on regular season game on Saturday's in the past, and all of our playoff games are on Saturdays. So that wont even be an issue. As far as sharing with the other schools....that's fine too. We'll just be there to cheer them on as well.

  9. Really? J.P. Richardson played football for the Royal Purples. I did not know that. ;D Thanks for the info, skip!
  10. Same thing I've been saying since this whole thread began........but I guess everybody has got to learn it for themselves.
  11. I agree with what both of you are saying. It's just that it's not always about the money. I think Craig knows this, and because I believe he is such a smart guy, he will make the decision that's right for both him and his family.....as well as both schools interested.
  12. So, when is the Admin at PN-G going to announce their new HC? I hope it's soon, cause I dont think I can take much more of this! :
  13. So it would be reasonable to assume that you admittedly agree that there is far less talent in Port Neches than in Beaumont? Then this just confirms what I said WAY back on page.....4 or 5 about there not being enough talent in Port Neches to run Stumps offense the way it needs to be run in order to be effective. Just checking...... ;D
  14. To my knowledge, there was no meeting, Other than the end of the six weeks grading period. I believe this to be a farce.
  15. Sorry, must have missed when you asked! Someone on staff! who's staff? PN-G's or WB's?
  16. badndn, you still haven't answered my question. Who told you that there was an Emergency Football Staff meeting at Brook today?
  17. I didn't say ALL of them. However, some are starting to come back.
  18. The problem starts right at the top. BISD isn't gonna pay a HC more than the principal at the school makes, therefore there seems to be a revolving door at the place. Maybe Thomas would be willing to take some of his overpaid $300+K salary and give his principals a raise so the HC's would get some of the jingle, and we'd be able to keep the HC's that are decent and have them stop using BISD athletics as a stepping stone.
  19. If it did occur, I would have already gotten a phone call.
  20. Break that 12-11 record down by year for us please! Also, WB had an Emergency Football Staff meeting after school today!!! Where are you getting your information from?
  21. What makes them so great? 1. Hooks has won in 5A, 4A and 3A with multiple state titles (and lots of years)! He is great. 2. Barbay has won at the 3A and 4A levels with multiple state titles (and lots of years)! He is great. 3. Neuman has built a good program at Nederland, no state titles and only one deep playoff run (lots of years). Not great, but very good. Now, would you have taken anyone of these coaches after four years of there career? Probably not unless you could see the future. You take a risk on a young guy based on what he has done in a short period of time and hope it continues as in Hooks, Barbay and Neuman! Stump has done a very good job in a short period in his first public school gig you can't deny that. And I am so tired of you saying that he wins because of the talent. The same talent was there when Rabb was there and he couldn't win! Plus Stump has won as many playoff games in four years at WB as your self proclaimed great coach at Hardin (Haynes) has in 20 years. No it was not. Ozen came into the picture a year after Rabb took over the reigns at the Brook. ALOT of the talent that would have gone to West Brook (kids in the Pear Orchard neighborhoods) suddenly went to Ozen, and our talent pool really took a hit. Without that talent, West Brook was nowhere near as successful as it was. It has only been in the last few years that that talent has slowly come back, and as you can see, Ozen is not what it once was as a result of that. So you see, Stump is a pretty good coach without the talent, but he's even better with it. Talent makes alot of difference.
