Switch LaPorte and PA Memorial and it’s perfect, IMO. Also, Friendswood, United, and Memorial are interchangeable at the top 3 spots...

Cool. I have a vested interest in Silsbee because I promised the QB Foster I’d make Some games. I guess I can skip out on that game. Son is in United band and I’m a volunteer for the band booster. It’s possible for me to kiss a game, so I’ll see. Been wanting to go to a MCM for years.. -
The 2016 BC team had some burners in the secondary. I think it was like 2 kids that could flat out fly. I remember them because I seen them fly in track season...

Could’ve started the rivalry back last football season. Honestly, it should’ve never been taken but people too sensitive these days.. -

I do agree with this statement. However, it is NOT because of attendance/‘atmosphere’... -

I’ve been to many games where everything else you mentioned was on a high level, except attendance. Would that equate to lots of atmosphere? and based on what you’re saying, you really should go to a Memorial/BU game. Because this is the perfect example of what I just stated. Bands, drill teams, cheer leading, post game shinnanigans. Another topic, I do hold firm on my belief that ‘atmosphere’ does not win or lose ball games... -

First, we need to define ‘atmosphere’ in this context... -

‘Atmosphere’ does not count. -
This is exactly what I’m talking about. Yea, those kids return, but you probably can’t replace the talent of Martin and Taylor so easily. Those two kids came in from day one answered the call when that last group of great talent left and have been serious gamers on Varsity for 3 years. I hope I’m wrong, but I didn’t see any kids of that caliber ready to fill those shoes.

Agreed, but at this point, we do need an answer. Folks are trying to come up with one on the fly. Usually don’t discuss politics, but the POTUS did fire the pandemic team that was in place just for an occasion like this. 🤷🏾♂️

THIS! This is what I told my college kids they want to go hang with their friends and go to the beach and such. But you go to work. I HAVE to go to work. You don’t have to go party and hang out with other irresponsible college kids...

I share your exact sentiments. At this point, based on what just happened with the WO-S football team, this will get worse before It gets better. And we have 3 teams (WB, BU, and Vidor) that’s scheduled to begin practices on the 15th...

Great post.

I was just going to say that. Silsbee graduated a lot. The two big guns Taylor and Martin are gone. And I believe the FB/linebacker is gone too. They will be hurting leading up to district. Of course they still have Arline and Foster, but I don’t know how fast that duo will click. And I don’t know if there will be any receivers like Turk, White, or Cartwright will be on the outside. I got Vidor wining by two scores...

I know BU is quite new, but the BU vs PA Memorial rivalry is pretty intense, all sports. Factor that in the decade long Beaumont vs Port Arthur rivalry AND they are in the same district. This will be fun this year. I can’t wait. -
Understood.

Guys, this is a real sensitive matter. People have their own opinions. People will do what’s best for them and their families. But let’s not belittle or be insensitive to someone that don’t show your thoughts. Also for whatever it’s worth, I think there are bigger things at play here besides football. Put the safeguards in place. If it’s PROVEN to keep ALL the kids healthy, then press forward. If not, don’t start football yet. And ummmmm.... its call the COVID-19 or Coronavirus, not China Virus (IMO, very insensitive and disrespectful to Chinese Americans and Chinese people in general)
