...and I see that Garth is out for the season. Tough loss, big guy. I hope he makes a full recovery and suites up to play in the burnt orange next year. PN-G run game will be affected because they usually run to his side of the field, but the QB throws darts and Silsbee's secondary better grow up fast or this kid could nickel and dime them for a big night...

Running for your life, yes I seen it. Do you have those stats? I remember big sacks being taken, not throwing the ball away. I seen just chunking the ball into coverage to avoid a sack. I dont care how good the competition is. Those are things you can't do as a starter in varsity over and over again. Thw Hot shot RB did well, but his natural position is RB and he has been gifted at it for years, even before high school. He did well, but it shouldn't have had to be like that. I'm glad Foster got his stuff together and graced the reigns and took off. And I know you want what's best for the team and I understand your angle on this. I want what's best too. Believe it or not, I'm still following the team and when i see those kids, I talk all of them up. They know they have a leader in Foster and he's gained all of their confidence and trust INCLUDING the coaching staff...

I don't want to run a kid down, but Johnson made some questionable errors especially in that PN-G game last year, and pretty much made us one dimensional and continued the same thing week two. I know they were against very good teams, but he was the starter at that time and it didn't pan out. We even had to bring in the hot shot RB to play QB some and he did a decent job doing that. ...and I remember the long pass to Turk. I'm also the one that originally said you can't teach experience. I'm rolling with the one that proved himself. Now, if Briscoe is athletic, he should get on the field some and I'd like that as it will put Silsbee in positions to win games. I just think that it won't be at QB.

Wow! You beat me to it! Lol -
Let's see how the Silsbee O-Line blocks this year minus Lightfoot. I'm sure the coaching staff will have then ready to open up those holes for those 3 horses in the backfield. Is it true that Tarver is put and won't play this week? If it's true, then the running game may take a step back a little. Also, is the PN-G O-Line all the way healthy? I heard some of them are dinged up and remember, Big boy got carted off in Thursday's scrimmage. I hope he's good to go. What's his status? This game will hinge on trench warfare, more so with Silsbee as their bread and butter is the power running game.

Had no bearing on football players or any action on the football field. Irrelevant information, football wise...

Lol. There was NO fighting between families. Lol. Johnson was the starting QB last year. Is that who you're talking about? If so, did you see those first two games that he started? Did you like the offensive prodiction? Not taking anything away from the Sophmore, but a betting man would roll with EXPERIENCE and RESULTS. Still don't understand how this is still even a debate. Their loss? Better QB? Too many unanswered questions for anyone to make a bold statement like that. That kid has not even played a down of varsity football. You're trippin for real. I hate I'll miss the game this Friday, but I do plan on the next game vs. Newton...

That's a question that whoever has followed the program for the last couple of years can clearly see...

Well, we don't have 200 band members, but we have a decent amount of dancers and twirlers too.. still going to be a magician act to get those kids and the fans in the stands... -
Understood...

Lol. Yall really making this into a battle.. this is why Silsbee will come out the gate better in O. Because you know what you get and know what he can do. And just like I've explained many times before, experience. Production on the big stage (Foster has done this 5 rounds in the playoffs) . Like I've said, in my eyes, it's a no brainer. Thinking back, Some of the Silsbee faithful thought the Calvin Tyler and Adonis Thomas position was a battle and gave Coach Smith a hard time when naming the starter Tyler... I just question the thought process sometimes of the people from Smoketown...

I saw that same video. I also seen a few Do ie players made a horrible effort to tackle this kid on that return... almost to the tune of trotting on the play... I have no idea what that was about... almost like they gave up... -

Beaumont United at Houston Washington/Post update here!

Got word from one of the administrators at United High School that the BU was up 2-0 and on the third set, there was a disagreement/argument between the refs and the scorekeeper. There was some refs that walked out so there wasn't enough refs. The came was canceled in the 3rd set. -

I'm not sure of the King/Porter matchup. King lost a lot to graduation. Porter pulls from that same New Caney talent pool, so I know they have something...

Yes, this has been the case the last 3 years it seems...

I know that QB made everything go on O and he gone. I also know their JV was not that good last year. -

That's my point.. there us no winning a scrimmage but they were trying to do something pretty close to being called a win... -

I just got home from this scrimmage and I have some observations. #1. Dobie blitz every other down. And I mean blitz like everything and the kitchen sink. That neutralized the Timerberwolf running game. #2. Due to Dobie blitzing so much, screen passes and quick passes in the seams were wide open all day. United went to this a few times for positive yards and IMHO, Could've did this all night. #3 Dobie's weird misdirection offense was hard for the United D to catch on to but as the scrimmage went on, they were better equipped to slow it down. #4. United's Best Linemen didn't play. #5. Things were very vanilla on United's side while Obviously, Dobie was trying to win as they unveiled a reverse flea flicker type play. I think United will be fine for kickoff next week and look forward to them cleaning some things up. PS... Shout out to the Sophemore that made plays all night. Good open field tackles and the 90 yard INT return for paydirt.
