  1. Should be hearing back from WO-SGrad shortly...
  2. Hold on. Lemme get you some help.
  3. Been overdue....
  4. No problem. I can answer. The other guy was much worse than Thomas. My whole 12 years of school, I believe was under him. There were textbooks that were 2/ years old when I was a kid. There were horrible buildings, namely, my old middle school that was literally falling apart. Everything like water and mold in the auditorium, band halls in portable buildings with urine smells everywhere.. and lastly, my old high school was even falling apart then, 20 years ago. Nothing was done, there were no plans of nothing being done. That guy disappeared into the sunset and no one talks about him. Thomas came in and helped get a lot of stuff done that was been overdue. These things happened happened in his watch. Brand new schools, New stadium. The demolition of the old south park middle school, that prior, had rodent, insect, rust, and mold issues, much to the dismay of old South Park High School alum, whom almost non of them even lives in Beaumont anymore. Anyway, I started rambling a bit, I'm sorry. The need for a stadium was needed with Lamar getting their football program going and Oxen having no home stadium. Also, Durley and Babe Zaharius stadiums were deteriorating fast. Durley, bleacher and lighting issues and Babe, leveling issues and 'other things'. The stadium was built and many was happy about the moves that were made. It a just that he rubbed the detractors the wrong way, the Same ones that were against change and was very content under that previous Superintendent. I'm sure he didn't have a negative impact on their kids....
  5. Well, some like yourself say you don't want taxes increased a little bit to pass a bond. Well, it don't really matter because the board, consists of mainly of old heads won't vote to pass one. But, good things are coming to Nederland. Those old heads are slowly dispersing and the younger guys will make some great moves. I can't wait to see...
  6. You really have little clue. There's a process going on right now to weed the BOM out and bring in the Voted trustees. This process will be complete VERY soon. Quite possibly this year. You say a guy that ran the district into the ground. Did Thomas do any worse than the previous Superintendent, prior to him? I've NEVER seen that subject touched... The previous board was a 'Bunch of clowns' but there were a few on the previous board that their old supporters are the ones now making a big stink about a stadium change and saying NOTHING about more important matters in the district.. More deserving people? Want to be recognized? Set up something for them in downtown Beaumont or somewhere. They can be recognized there.
  7. I don't know but when you label someone a 'Crook', out here, you're arrested and put away. With all the investigations by FBI to name one, when was Thomas arrested?
  8. I wasn't actually referring to you. I was referring to 'City Leaders' that's the main ones pushing for this entire miserable masquerade. The current name of the stadium isn't hurting anyone. It's a football stadium. A high school stadium at that. Certain city leaders need to focus on pressing city issues, and trust me, there's a laundry list of them. And BISD should focus on their pressing issues, laundry list for them too, it a stadium name should be the last thing, imo. Actually, after listening to the board meeting yesterday, our superintendent shares my sentiments.
  9. You do know our district is NOT in dire financial straits, contrary to popular believe. Therefore, it's not like anyone is chomping at the bit to collect money.... Matter of fact, the district still has a pretty good surplus of funds... Basically, I wish the detractors would just stop skating around the elephant in the room and just say what their real issue is.
  10. I COMPLETELY agree. There are schools in Beaumont that are academically unacceptable. That should be the focus. There's enforcing zonings. There's many pressing issues to be concerned about vs. the name of a damn stadium.
  11. Good. Maybe he can start a trend to get some young blood up there with fresh and new ideas and get some things going as the town as a whole seems to be getting younger.
  12. Because it's not on top of the priorities list with the 'old heads' with the BOT.... They're content with a lot of things because it's how it used to be in the 1950's.... BTW, wasn't Mosley going to be elected for a board position?
  13. Very good. Rest, rest and more rest. Tell Becky thanks for the updates.
  14. Yea, I know that, but I thought HE was done growing...
  15. I thought he was done growing.
  16. Very VERY true information here, contrary to popular belief...
  17. Yea, Nederland has their fair share of issues keeping their field intact without having anyone else put wear and tear on it..
  18. I figure this would happen sooner or later.... Smh
  19. Yes. I was just talking about that to someone. They built a makeshift press box for the remainder of the season after it burned down. After that, they built a permanent one for the following season...
  20. Imo, they could somehow get a makeshift press box on the visitors side for now. It just sucks because their district is so far away, it would be a huge disservice if those kids have to play their home games on the road.
  21. I'm very happy for the exposure of all of our kids, compared to 15 years ago.
  22. Works out pretty well for me. All the pictures I have of Lil Soulja on the field is NOT in game action, but before and after games.
  23. I mean, I do have plenty of Junior pics of that player... Smh
  24. It's just mind boggling to me that the Beaumont Surprise keeps using player's Sophmore pics that are now seniors.... Smh
  25. Like I told a die hard Memorial fan, like a hot knife through butter. That's PA Memorial in their new district....
