  1. Ohh. Ok. I like those noise makers..
  2. I think Nederland still have those at their games... I like em....
  3. Blowing that horn after the whistle is blown before the kickoff may be some kind of violation. I thought it was fair game before the start play whistle...
  4. Really?! That is crazy...
  5. I don't think I've heard anyone use the train horn as a distraction while live play is going on. It's usually blown after the whistle...
  6. What about the schools with the fire engine siren and horn? I wonder do uil have a problem with that?
  7. I agree with everything you just said...
  8. Well.... There are a few stadiums located right alongside train tracks where trains blast their horns, sometimes during games. Example of that is Provost- Umphrey stadium and Thomas Center... Those are the immediate ones that come to mind. I'm sure there are more...
  9. I assume the train horn is more damaging on the ear than any other noise makers...
  10. This is true... As for SETX. I like it for Lumberton. But it should, IMO, should be used when teams come out before games or after halftime, not after scores. Other noisemakers, such as bells, ball bearings, clappers, ect should be ok. Sometimes, the train horn drowns out the band and its fight songs after TD's, scores, or big plays....
  11. This might be one of the best posts on this thread....
  12. Nederland's start in the last month of April until the start of the season.....
  13. Well I be damn... Lol
  14. PN-G has a preseason ranking too according to Dave Campbell...
  15. This....
  16. I mentioned United because I'll be making their games too...
  17. He was talking about predistrict. They (United) have no distant predictrict games. I was talking about Silsbee's distant predistrict games.
  18. Pretty good as a whole. I agree. But my teams, Silsbee and United, will have 2 distant games.
  19. Should be hearing back from WO-SGrad shortly...
  20. Hold on. Lemme get you some help.
  21. Been overdue....
  22. No problem. I can answer. The other guy was much worse than Thomas. My whole 12 years of school, I believe was under him. There were textbooks that were 2/ years old when I was a kid. There were horrible buildings, namely, my old middle school that was literally falling apart. Everything like water and mold in the auditorium, band halls in portable buildings with urine smells everywhere.. and lastly, my old high school was even falling apart then, 20 years ago. Nothing was done, there were no plans of nothing being done. That guy disappeared into the sunset and no one talks about him. Thomas came in and helped get a lot of stuff done that was been overdue. These things happened happened in his watch. Brand new schools, New stadium. The demolition of the old south park middle school, that prior, had rodent, insect, rust, and mold issues, much to the dismay of old South Park High School alum, whom almost non of them even lives in Beaumont anymore. Anyway, I started rambling a bit, I'm sorry. The need for a stadium was needed with Lamar getting their football program going and Oxen having no home stadium. Also, Durley and Babe Zaharius stadiums were deteriorating fast. Durley, bleacher and lighting issues and Babe, leveling issues and 'other things'. The stadium was built and many was happy about the moves that were made. It a just that he rubbed the detractors the wrong way, the Same ones that were against change and was very content under that previous Superintendent. I'm sure he didn't have a negative impact on their kids....
  23. Well, some like yourself say you don't want taxes increased a little bit to pass a bond. Well, it don't really matter because the board, consists of mainly of old heads won't vote to pass one. But, good things are coming to Nederland. Those old heads are slowly dispersing and the younger guys will make some great moves. I can't wait to see...
