I'm thinking, since West Brook is scheduled to travel almost 600 miles for district games this year, it really makes no sense to keep Ozen playing up being that your reasoning was to cut back on travel... Someone either goofed up big time or there really an ulterior motive for messing Ozen over. The funds budgeted for travel costs have probably been exceeded with West Brook alone, so the excuse of saving is way out of the question. Ultimately, UIL chitted on West Brook, and BISD chitted on Ozen. Smh

The part about the education is true to a point. The smart kids will flourish at either school, no matter what. It a the kids on the fence or the riff raff. Will they go out of the way to help these kids. The kids with the thug mentality, shaky home life, ect. When this comes into play, who's willing to give these kids a few more resources to succeed or even have a chance to succeed? OF, when you were in school, the old regime was in place. Ozen was still the darling of Beaumont at that time. Different day in age now. I believe the scores have slipped a little. And it looks to not be changing. This freshmen group at Ozen have already shown not so good signs so far. Maybe they can get it together and at least start and upward spiral of sorts there, athletics and academics. Maybe, just maybe, kids will want to start sending their children children there again, like in the early and mid 2000's..

Its funny. I actually have Vidor beating Memorial. Memorial have never faced the Wing T before. Couple that with the fact that for the last 2 years, their run defense have been horrible, I have Vidor in the upset... And with Lumberton running the ball so well last year with the new coach, Lumberton might give them trouble as well...

Lumberton didn't do too bad last year. I think they'll compete this year as well...

Well, it balances out. Lot of home games this year... And plus, the game against Ozen is at the Butch... Basically, at home...

Very interesting. I heard rumors that Ozen and Central didn't do the Magnet programs to begin this school year. Maybe this is confirmation?

Well, they almost lost both games. Nederland took huge leads both games.... Ozen had to claw back into it..

Only info that I got so far for Central is Atwood averages about 16 ppg. I'm trying to get Person's numbers now...

Interesting, we've talked about this too. Lol. And I agree with this statement.. You may be wrong. The Ozen team this year mirrors the team last year. Records almost identical, there is that 1 guy that you can iso and he can do his thing (Hunter last year, Boyd this year), there are a couple of pretty good big men coming along (Wyngard and Bolton last year, Pierre and Gibson this year), and the rest of the experienced group returns. The X factor is that Broussard is playing so well and Tyler is healthy this year (very underrated on the ball defender) .

Every school has someone who does their books durring the game. I assume if we can obtain these total points, we can do the math ourselves to calculate the averages...
