Yep, Coach Barrow gets down in the dirt and tell em you go here, you go there, and in the end you catch it here. Remember the game winner Seth caught at Reliant, yep, came from the dirt!!! lol Central is going to be better just not Bulldog ready yet Soulja....close, but not ready....
I guess. Like I said, no 'beat downs', sir... ;)

So, you manage to squeeze an entire 'game' into an in school athletic period? Games are about 2 hours. Isn't in school athletic periods about 45 mins?
Relax BMTSoulja1, this is simply a throw together flag football game done during regular school hour football period. Kinda fun for the boys and a little bragging rights heading into the summer. Some dads show up and a few die hard fans come to watch. Heck they practically draw up plays in the dirt. Then again, this one secret game right before summer starts could be the answer to all of Nederlands success. Lol! Enjoy you summer Souja, you guys are taking another beating next year cause of this secret scrimmage.....
lol So coaches draw up plays in the dirt now? Another beat down? After losing those linebackers anda 3 year starter at quarterback? Yes, ok...
I think you're reaching to find something wrong here and it's just not there. The 'game' is played within the time period of the regular athletic period and usually only lasts a few series. Offense v. Defense and then a few subs. That's pretty much it. No pads, no media, no band, no problems. Organized practices only count if they are done in the context of formal spring practice with contact. If what they are doing is wrong, every school in Texas that does not have organized spring football with pads is doing something illegal and their offseason program is breaking UIL rules.
A few sets and few subs is Not a game. Thanks, James, got clarifying that for me. I just had questions. I just though that if they are excited about a spring game, then they would just done spring workouts. That way, everyone can go.

...but isn't what Central, Ozen, ect. Had going on? Those spring games that the media, scouts, and fans knew about beforehand is/was nothing more than a 'glorrified intrascrimmage practice'. Correct me if I'm wrong...

Also, how many fans do you expect to be there when there was NO information submitted to local media?

The spring game is in football class if I'm correct, and it's not real football til the pads are laced up. No need for media and fans for something like this, it's for the players and coaches to have a little fun at the end of spring workouts. We know what to do in Nederland when the pads are on.
I know all about what spring foot all is and I'm also aware of what schools have systems in place. I'm also aware that ALL high schools have football classes. My thing is that the Nederland poster said something about a 'spring game'. First thing with that is NO ONE knew Nederland had spring workouts to have a spring game (ie PN-G from last year, Memorial, Ozen, Central, and West Brook), all of which advertised these spring workouts to local media and fans. Why didn't Nederland disclose this information? Why haven't this been talked about by the Nederland faithful until now? Don't want to look too deep into it, but it seems to me that certain people knew about a spring game, AND Nederland will be allowed to start fall practices without waiting that extra week like Ozen, Central, West Brook, or Memorial. Am I missing something here?
Yes, you are. Nederland has only been working out in their athletic period - without pads. No formal spring football. The "Spring Game" is just offense v. defense without pads. It's just a capper to the end of school and their offseason program.
Thanks for answering the question. Now, who coaches this 'spring game'?

My question still wasn't answered....

Yes, I caught the joke, and it was funny if I must say so myself... But I'm still curious about a spring touch football game. Who's coaching it? Why was it not reported about or advertised in the local media? I looked and couldn't find it...

Yes, the older brother have been playing varsity since last year. They both have. -
How physical can you be without pads? Why didn't Big Ned just go all out and do spring workouts?
-
So, is it a game of touch or what? An organized touch football game with coaches and fans?

Ned 21 Crosby 7 Ned 19 Crosby 25 Ned 29 Crosby 35 Total 69 67 Avg. 23 22 and as Coug is always saying stats mean everything.... I guess Nederland is going to win due to the avg scores of the 3 games.... I guess that puts this to bed....... :-D Carry on have a nice day...
The 7 is an outlier. Ned's D was good but it was the first game with a new staff. We also have two W's which y'all say is everything. Looks like it's our year if we're averaging those.
one more time: stats= stats, scoreboard ='s winner as in 42-20 Vidor over Crosby. if the stats said it all then Crosby should lead the state in TITLES IYO.
;D ;D

Hervey scores three TDs in West Brook spring game
BMTSoulja1 replied to BMTSoulja1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
hope everybody got to see the best talent in the golden triangle today. West brook looks to be the Dominate team this year if that passing game ever shows up this could be be a good year in the playoffs. Hervey is lights out if you give him a seam! Defense looks much improved over last year they had there share of 3 and outs and stops on the goal line with some nice hits but once again its spring so we shall see in a few months! until then GO Bruins!!
Only a matter of opinion. Yes, Hervey did his thing and will be a force, but could it be that the Bruin defense not as good as you think? Have you been to all 3 spring games to make that statement? Because I know for a fact by observation and a very reliable contact that there are players of his at caliber at the other schools (Brown at Ozen and Mitchell at Central) that did their thing. Btw, my reliable contact is non biased... 8) -

Freshman Scores Winning TD in Central's Spring Game
BMTSoulja1 replied to BMTSoulja1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Heck, we were trying to find that out as well. The tall one was Jacquet and that's the only QB I know. I don't know why the player's numbers were mixed up. Maybe they should have made rosters.... -

Turf Practice fields ? Does it matter?
BMTSoulja1 replied to BrookAlumni's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
This was actually coach's choice. Flannigan didn't want to waste time transferring equipment and players to Da Butch so he elected to play the game where they practice. To Me, it really don't matter. Practice on concrete for all I care. But, you better be ready come game day. When the season starts, you will not always play on turf. -
