Btw, you are aware that we've beaten Ozen twice this year already.... The latest one in an inhuman effort by Hunter with his huge 4th quarter, which Ozen STILL came up short.
I see your point now BD3! It's either arrogance or confidence (from Central fans). Since they beat y'all twice already, there does not seem to be a reason to show up on Tuesday. ;)
Abe, please don't tell me you're entertaining Dove's foolishness... ;D

I can see where he's going with this. Central IS talented every year. Just like last year, we beat Nederland in a nondistrict game. But, last year's team ended up splitting the district meetings. The game that Nederland did win was in the dog dome.. They ended up tied for first. Dickyv sees a repeat of that this year. I do not. This year's group is special.
From Souljah: "Dickyv sees a repeat of that this year. I do not. This year's group is special." Nederland fans, I have told yall on several occasions these Central people say yall don't belong in the same gym with them. More evidence!!!! Dogs, come out in full force tonight!!!
Ohh, wow. Well, um, he said it, not I... 8)
This is the type of matchup that makes high school basketball great. You know it will be a packed house. And after the game everyone will try to draw lots of conclusions about what it means, etc.; but I can tell you now that whoever loses is still a good basketball team that will be in the playoffs.
...and make a lot of noise!

They have to! 2. Nothing like a 3-way tie to add suspense to this district. Most other 4-A districts have clear winners at this time. 3. Central has become a cocky team with a few cocky players 4. Read #1 again...They have to in order for Honest Abe to keep flying those "past" accomplishments on his posts---at this time seems to be fading fast 8)
1. ...and we don't 'have to'? 2. There's already suspense in the district... Who will get the 4th spot... ;) 3.Lol. Very funny... Every team have cocky players... So Does Nederland. Lol. Last I seen, Nederland is a good team as we'll. Lol 4. You are a messy guy. You've mastered the art of not letting the dust settle... ;D ;D
OMG!! I don't think I really need to expound on your statements for Nederland fans..... Surely they see what you are really saying about this game... :o
:-X :-X

The thing that I like is that a majority if their games, their halfcourt defense got the job done and most of the time, the full court press wasn't even used... That in itself could go a long way...
If Central does win it will be because of they defense. I look for it to be a close game.
Central have held a lot of common opponents to season lows in point totals and I think season highs in the opponents turnovers...
True Dove. I predict Ned will win because its a must win tonight. Central will not know how to handle the loss so it will send them into a tailspin losing their remaining district games. :D
:o ;D :D

Central still has the same team they started the season with, Silsbee does not. Is Central playing better basketball than they were early in the season? YES!! But Silsbee was basically fielding a JV team those first 3 weeks of the season and now have their full compliment of a varsity team (4 varsity players before, 14 now). Three of Silsbee's top 5 scorers (1. Elam, 2. Holmes, 4. Reed) were still playing football and 4 of the first 5 off the bench(Jackson, Barnes, Brydson, Scott) were still in football those first 3 weeks. Personnel wise, Silsbee is no where near the team they were those first 3 weeks than what they are now. You cannot make that claim with Central. Silsbee has grown much more as a team than Central. That is a fact, not opinion.
Remember, Central started the season with 2 players that have never played a high school game in their lives. These two players started vs Silsbee...an EXPERIENCED Silsbee team that had players on the court that was on last year's deep playoff run team.
Two players for Silsbee (Wilson and Dobbins) was all that played against Central that was on Silsbee's deep playoff team last year. TWO!! Every other player were JV or freshmen players the year before. (besides Thomas who left Silsbee last year in December to go back to PA Memorial).
...and I'm willing to bet they were impact players that night and the rest of the games those football players were absent in...
I honestly do not know who would win out Central and Silsbee right now. What I do know is that Central losing to a Silsbee "JV" team is the biggest head scratcher of the season so far. I honestly do not know how they lost that game and I believe had they played that game over again (with the same players as before) Central wins by 20 or more. I think Central took that Silsbee team lightly because those kids knew that wasn't the "real" Tiger varsity team.
I can see that being the case...

How many with Silsbee's complete team?
Why is that info relevant? I've seen Silsbee play. ;)
Thought so. ::)
What? You did not prove a point. I noticed you said you don't know who would win of Central and Silsbee wouldl play now. Since you have seen every Central and Silsbee game, I would have expected you to take Silsbee since they have gotten so much better with the addition of the football boys, right?
