I wish they would put the Central/Ozen matchups in there...

They play some local 4A and a ton of 2A schools. No school they have played so far this year besides Central and Longview could stay in the gym with Silsbee. Not even Kountze!
You are aware that Kountze have already beaten Silsbee by 20 already, right?
and we all know that was 3/4 Silsbee JV team at that time. Only 4 (just 2 starters) of the current 14 varsity players were playing at that time. But, that team was good enough to beat Central the week before. ;)
...and good enough to loose to a Baytown Lee team AFTER receiving the football boys back? 8)
Soulja, your basketball credibility is lacking if you are saying that Silsbee is the same team now as they were the first 3 weeks of the season. The Baytown Lee loss was a bad loss for Silsbee even tough it was the first game with the football players with 1 practice under their belts and on the road. A couple of those football players did not even suit out for that game. Do I think Silsbee beats Kountze now? Yes. Do I think Silsbee beats Central now? I don't know but I like their chances. I can assure you that based on what I have seen from watching Silsbee and Central early part of the season till now, Silsbee has improved much more as a team than what Central has done thus far. Does that equate in a Silsbee win over Central right now? No it doesn't. But then again, Central had no business losing to a Silsbee JV team neither. ;)
My basketball credibility is only based off of an opinion (your opinion). ;) I Never said Silsbee don't get better than they were vs 3 weeks ago. Where did you pull that information from? I said Central have gotten better, which is scary considering they were already good at the beginning of the season (evident in blowing H-J away). But it seems you're trying to downplay the Lee loss (HORRIBLE team with a HORRIBLE record to boot) by making mention of the Silsbee loss (who still had 2 of the regular starters on the game that played well may I add)
Kountze could not hang...I wish silsbee and central played again too. They lucky my lilttle brother was still in football the first time they played...
I think Kountze would win. Did you not know that not to long ago they smacked White Oak (was #1 in 2a at that time). Central? Again, I don't think that Silsbee would win that one as well with how much better Central have gotten since that last meeting..

I think if these two played now, Silsbee would blow Kountze out the gym..
Highly doubt it. It would be a 5-6 point game either way.
I agree!
I don't have any details.. I just take the photos... All I can say is it was a very intense game. Coaches getting mad at the refs, fans getting mad at each other. But the two teams played good clean basketball. Dayton plays Kingwood Park Friday @ Dayton ;)
Words spoken from a football fanatic! ;) ;) -
Read my post Soulja. I didn't say the outcome would have been different I said the arena hurt the game. I don't have a dog in this fight from either side but the atmosphere was dead compared to years past in both Silsbee and Sour Lake.I have seen a ton of basketball in my lifetime and this was far from a good basketball game. The game tightened up in the end but when you look at shooting percentages, free throw percentages and turnovers it wasn't a real well played game. Both clubs can play much better and I believe they will in the rematch.
Whs, I wasn't singling you out, but it was my opinion. I say that out was a good game since H-J made a furious rally at the end. I should have attended the game.
Mitchell has been sick.
Ohh. Ok. I thought he was injured. Glad it's just that he was under the weather.

Here goes this 'atmosphere' thing. Just like the argument with the Mid County Madness thing. The arena had no bearing on the actual game. This game would have played out the same way at either Silsbee or Sour Lake. So a big crowd makes an atmosphere? This was a good game and would have been a good game in ANY gym regardless of the number of spectators...

I have Central by 8. I like the rebounding edge that Central will have with our length. I like the fact that our 3 point shot is a lot better now than it was the first time we faced big Ned. The only thng I Don't like is that Mitchell haven't played in a couple of games and may not play in this game. Nonetheless, Jags have been playing lights out without him. We won't shut Weisbrod down, but we have players that can slow him down. We'll be ready to silence that rowdy Nederland crowd.
Big district game but its pressure on Nederland to win this one. Ooops! Thats right, 4 teams go to playoff in this district. ::) If Nederland loses this one, it will definitely have implications on supporters like Honest Abe. No more NEW district championship banners to hang on their threads.
:o :o

beaumont athletes are not equalling team wins
BMTSoulja1 replied to 5GallonBucket's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Ok, info a little off. Going by memory. It wasn't an offer, it was an 'interest' from TT...and it appears that the latest 'interest' was last Summer. [Hidden Content] Still, nothing else of this was mentioned. I wonder why that could be? -

What happened to the offer at Texas Tech while he was a sophomore? -

If this is true, what he said, then where was that offer that Mitchel received as a sophomore from Texas Tech (district champion 2010 team) ?Maybe I'm missing something here. Now, he had an offer to play at LU? -
Silsbee vs HJ.....Who you got and why!

First Central, Then WO-S, then finally Silsbee. The Hawks will need to do some tweeking before the playoffs start because I have a feeling you'll see Silsbee again or maybe even Yates. You want to avoid the same kind of result like tonight.
Yes athletic teams are difficult to deal with - fortunately Central wasn't athletic last year.
They are athletic this year. What does last year have to do with this year?
Nothing - just living in the past & recalling HJ's win over Central last year that conjured up some good memories. We weren't supposed to hang with yall but actually forced the action & won the game. Nice to see the little guy win.
Well, it was nice to see the big boy win BIG this year...
